The OLA32 Armageddon League begins today - 15th February 2007!

The Fungoid Prowlers and Stalkers eradicated the Atrax and Foul on Outback Land Area 32 and claimed the Land Area as they own sanctuary or so they thought...

A number of the Atrax and Foul managed to escape the Fungoids and their potent Acidic attacks and sought their brothers and sisters from other distant lands... The Atrax and Foul have returned in a force that has never been seen on Amethera / Eudoria!

The High Maturity Atrax and Highest Maturity Foul have combined to wreak havoc on the Fungoid Prowlers and Stalkers...

I seek the help of brave Hunters and Miners alike. Hunters to destroy the creatures that disturb my sleep at night with their never ending battle cries and Miners to blow up the land to cover the bodies of Fungoids, Atrax and Foul that litter the area that creates a stench I cannot bear!

Let the OLA32 Armageddon League begin!

ANNUAL Prize of 5000.00 PEDs to be awarded to the individual / team with the most points – (Winner to be declared on 15th February 2008)

MONTHLY Prize Pool of 1% of the total Hunting Globals scored to the Hunter or Team (starting from 15th February 2007) with the most points for that monthly period.

MONTHLY Prize Pool of 1% of the total Mining Globals scored to the Miner (starting 15th February 2007) with the most points for that monthly period.

MYSTERY Bonus Prizes will be given out to individuals (not necessarily someone with the Highest points) on an adhoc basis.

Tax is currently set as follows:

Hunting: 5.5%
Mining: 5.5%

The area borders of OLA32 are:

North 31466
South 30718
East 14117
West 11370

Featuring the Highest Maturity Fungoids (1 DNA sample), the Highest Maturity Foul (1 DNA sample) AND High Maturity Atrax (4 DNA samples).

The OLA32 Armageddon League Rules:

To Enter:

Submit screenshots of globals for the monthly period to this thread.
All submissions MUST include the global message in the chat box.
All submissions MUST also include a visible timestamp (C), and position (P).
Your position MUST be within the boundaries if you Global / HOF whilst mining.
If you are Hunting and score a Global / HOF you CAN be outside the LA but your timestamp, position and MAP must be clearly visible so that I know you are close by the OLA32 Land Area.

All submissions MUST be made within 24 hours of timestamp in the screenshot.

Points System:

A global is worth it's PEDs in points. For example, a 128 ped global would be worth 128 points.

The maximum points per HUNTING global is 500 points, all Hunting globals exceeding 500 PED will be worth 500 points.

The maximum points per MINING global is 1500 points, all Mining globals exceeding 1500 PED will be worth 1500 points.

Teams CAN enter but before entering for the month / annual event they MUST post on this thread each member of the team and this cannot be changed afterwards without forfeiting all points for that period. A screen shot of the Global MUST also include all team members that were declared in the team in this thread. I can see that Teams may want to enter to see if they can win the Monthly prize but it will be difficult to co-ordinate for the Annual prize (That's up to the team members to sort out). It is fine if a Team posts their members on this Thread and enter for a month to see if they can win the monthly prize then change teams but they again must post the team and team members on this Thread prior to posting any Globals, HOFS, ATHs

If there are any questions you should make them public on THIS post and NOT PM me.

Current Point Totals will be Posted on the Leaderboard as regularly as possible.

VERY IMPORTANT:

My Event Manager and I reserve the right to edit / update any rules should we deem there to be a valid reason AND to reject any screen shot(s) entered which is not clearly visible, looks like its doctored or deduct points / eject individuals / teams from the Event if they appear to be cheating, are rude or deliberately being a pain.

If you do not accept this or do not like the MOB or don't like the tax then it's quite... simple do not enter the Event?

We will do our best to be fair and make the 1% monthly payments to winners as quickly as possible. An example on the status on payment for the individual / team will be updated as follows (again Example at the moment:

April 15th HUNTING Monthly Prize Winner: Not yet known

I'll be watching the progress of it. Messy combination but i think it would be fun.

A nice thing to try would be a team of 4, one person geared up for each of the mobs and a miner .

Could be a great laugh.

I just have to share my opinion on this.

Taxes: 6,7% Is a lot thats 1,2% higher than on CND and 2,2% over the "average" tax on LA's.

Agein you hold a event without 2. and 3. place winners? It kinda sucks if you loose by 40 points and the person/team in front of you had 1640 points and you 1600.......

1% of the total globals made by a person or team thats not much. Of let me say 10 000 peds - 1% is 100 PED but its very unlikly that 10k will be in the "total" montly pool. More like 3/4000- 1% of that is 30/40 Peds and that isn't much.

Have I missed something here?

you do know that mobs that spawn within your boundaries and wander off still give you the tax? its just that I've often gotten good loots clearing 'edges' of LAs

Yes, I'm aware of that. If participants clearly have their position, map and time shown in their screen shot they will still get their points

For Miners - resources MUST be found with the LA boundaries in order to score any points.

OLA32 is unique in the fact that it has such a high maturity of fungoid and foul present together with high level Atrax (four dna samples) which is an attraction in itself

Tax is according to what is required for prize(s) on offer and any profit that would be possible for such an event. I make no comparison to taxes on other LAs as unfortunately the tax generated by them doesn't come to me. They know how much they make and I know how much I make or don't make

As for second, third and fourth prizes Etc. It can easily be said what about the 2 point difference between the fourth and fifth positioned person... Etc.

The rules are and prize structure and tax is clear in my post so I hope that those who do want to participate enjoy themselves and those who have reservations perhaps you would like to enter another event in the future.

High tax or not, 5 000 Ped is a lot too! I can't hunt those, since I´m not "good enoth" they will shomp me too easy, but I´ld if I had the gear and skills.

5,000 PED for a year of competition isn't that much really. Let's say you go out there to that LA 3 days each week. You spend 150 PED in ammo each night. You have just spent 23,400 PED over the course of a year ({AND THAT IS JUST AMMO}. Calculate in decay and you have easily spent 25K in PED on that LA in one year.

Heck, even if you only put in 3 hours per week out there, and 100 PED in ammo per week. That is still 5200 PED in a year on ammo alone.

Now, offer up a end-of-contest prize of say... 15K PED and monthly prizes total up to 3K PED each month or so and then I will tell you there is something to get interested in. Otherwise, I don't think the excitement level is quite the same.



Good even all the same though if you like those mobs.

There's a reason for the tax being at that amount it is. I'm just going to let the Event run it's course for the moment

Who knows - those who give the Event a go might find the Mystery Bonus Prize(s) mentioned are really cool

The first Mystery Bonus Prize will go to the first person / team to post a Global / HOF on a Fungoid worth more than 250 PEDs or the first Miner scoring a Global / HOF worth more than 250 PEDS.

As this is the first Mystery Bonus on offer - I'll reveal a little information about the prize. How about this - a mysery prize item or item(s) worth circa 1,000 PEDs? Now, if that doesn't bring a mad rush to this Event nothing will

don't want to sound like a smartass, but the high maturity on this LA makes it almost impossible to mine there hence I am not really able to make a 200 bombs run without being attacked by at least 2 Atrax Stalker and/or 1 Fungoid Old Alpha - dunno which suck more as a miner without having Supremacy Armor or a IMP FAP at least

Maybe you reduce the amount of one of them a little? Mining is just not fun if you hit a nice claim but it takes you hours to get the Ore out of the ground because you have 30 red dots surrounding your claim.

Just a hint for the mining competition part, GL with the LA, but until this is changed I doubt too many "average" miners will participate really.

The event is fully underway, grab your gremlin and head out to OLA32. An extra incentive to hunt on this land teeming with mobs.

Don't forget to post those globals / hofs / aths if you intend on entering this event!

well, no offense gen, but i hunt on land's all the time. so i'm not scared of tax by any means. for 6.7% tax i would probably not even shoot a mob once i read your land message. if i got aggrod on i'd just take my harness off and revive so i could quickly get off your land before accidentally firing my weapon once there.

at 5.5% it's ok, but really i try to never hunt anywhere for more than 5% tax. and ppl think i'm crazy for hunting lands at all. i'm not trying to start that debate here in your thread either. my favorite land formidon valley, offers 3.5% tax, cause rei understand there is a way to make a decent amount of tax without killing your customers ped cards.

but for an annual prize of 5k peds, at 5.5% tax to tp way up there to hunt. no thanks, you gotta be kidding. i guess land areas have gotten so high that owner's in their attempt to recoup paying too much for them have lost their mind. by running tediously long contests for too little of a prize, with a rules page longer than most chapters in the bible and a high rate of tax on the land, you could put 14 spawns up there at max maturity if the land let you do that and you'd probably never see me there. good luck with your contest, but i think you should offer a normal prize monthly or something and base your results each month and adjust your promotion. and of course, lower your tax. high tax like that makes me think twice about ever coming back to see if it's lowered, especially when it's so far from a tp. i once tped into atrox park, and tax was for whatever reason set to 10%. i can't tell you if i have ever been back to that land ever. tax could be 1% and i wouldn't know it.

I think people should check out the bonus prizes on offer.

And really again if people don't like the Event DON'T ENTER and there's no need to post your reasons for not entering. If you think it's too expensive stay on free lands or whatever.

The point of my Event is to promote it further to those who already hunt there and to provide them with extra incentives.
