EDIT: I over-reacted negatively and have decided to remove my critical comments. The new UI works and I am happy that I can still do most of what I used to.

The new UI is atrocious and functions poorly which does not surprise me at all.

Big thanks for letting us know 2 years in advance. I was able to enjoy the old UI for a while before it was removed and that was nice, it also gave me time to withdrawal everything.

I am feeling bad for big investors today, this is major steps backwards and very few steps forward. Good luck to players trying to achieve the same level of playability we had yesterday.

EDIT: I cannot believe these healthbars actually made it to release, absolute unreadable garbage.

It is rather hillarious that there are now just hoards of people standing about and maybe jumping every now and then as we all reset up out UI :D
 
You put them in action bars.

sorry, being dim here, how do I split out an action bar to be in a different place like in the screenie in the thread you mention? How do I get multiple action bars?

Open main menu, click OPTIONS then INTERFACE. You can there activate up to 5 action bars, and set them to be either horizontal or vertical.

Entropia Universe now has an updated Heads-Up Display (HUD), and the User Interface (UI) has been revamped with added features, functionality, and improved performance. With this update, each account had its User Interface reset.

How do we resize windows? Some of them are really big & take up nearly the entire screen. The message center, for example. So much wasted space in this window. Please tell me we can resize it.
I have similar problem, resize option for all windows please. 🙏

Gray text on slightly darker gray background is a terrible choice (check auction...). Zero readability, this needs to be changed asap.

You did this to unify UI, but some panels display a grid (auction) and others to not (event list). Why? the grid helps a lot when processing visual data.

In general, please give us the option to display the grid again (urgently needed on the inventory and storage). The item icons snap to the grid anyway, so WHY HIDE IT? At this very moment when I open my inventory it just looks like an unorganized mess exclusively because there's no grid to help me.

Terrible interface, new colors are unpleasant to the eyes and cause irritation when looking at the monitor for more than 5 minutes, there is no desire to continue playing, bring back the old interface!
 
I must say that we do get a lot of tool bars .. each has 3 pages and each page gets the same key .. toolbaar 1-1 gets & as key 1 end 1-2 also does this for a diff action (but you need to change to that one) with ctrl; shift and ctrle shift we get like 150 icons on toolbars so that is good .. but having them on screen at once and clickable is faster/better !!
 
And what with keybindings not being saved ???

I cannot make my Sleipnir, Kraka, etc go up or down - cannot change altitude. Is this a new bug?
How do I get numbered-icons back so I can quickly change from one weapon, etc, to another? As it is, I'm having to go into my carried inventory to 'manually' equip/unequip items. This is absurd.

This new HUD/UI is not a good idea!
 
We are currently working on solving multiple reported bugs and issues (big thanks to everyone contributing over in the bug/crash thread!)

The bug causing it to be impossible to use residue in crafting is high priority.
What about the bug that's preventing the up (Shift) and down (Ctrl) keys from working for raising or lowering an aircraft? When I last logged out about 15 minutes ago, my ARC Lancer was left hovering somewhere above the roof of PA Mall!

MA needs new devs soon.

There is no such bug. As mentioned in some previous releases/articles, the default function of the SHIFT and CTRL keys is now as modifier keys; meaning you can assign them together with other keys, like for example CTRL+T or CTRL+SHIFT+G.

If you wish to assign functions directly to these keys without modifiers, you have to open the main menu, then click Options > Interface, scroll to the bottom, and toggle "Disable using modifier keys for Actions". When that function is toggled on, you can assign actions (like Move Up and Move Down) to CTRL and SHIFT normally again, but you're unable to use them as modifier keys.
 
I'm not one to complain much, but damn, I hate this.

How do I:
1) run and turn at the same time? I used to auto run and turn with my mouse, but that's off limit or something.
2) auto attack a mob I'm aiming/looking it?
3) create armour sets? I had all my sets as icons on my desktop so I could click on one at I would turn it on. Now it's a 3-click action, I think?
4) create any icon on my desktop for that matter?
5) assign a key (other then 1-0) for any kind of item to use?

I'm running a lot of Ark Key #1's lately. I used to do them in ~20 minutes before this great UI update. Now it takes twice as much time because of the afore mentioned problems.

We have received no bug reports about that, and it works fine for me when I try it out ingame.

Please read this article from last week, it contains explanations and a quick tutorial on how to use the keybindings and new action bars:

 
Hotfix out for a few issues:
  • Cleared keybindings should now save properly between sessions.
  • Turning modifiers off should now save properly between sessions as well.
  • Female armors can be crafted again.
  • Split stacks now starts from 0 rather than the middle.

If you are in the game, you need to log out and then back in to apply the fixes.


There was also another hotfix earlier today:
  • Crafting residue fix
  • Message center pages fix (that it was not possible to view more than one page)
  • Some color changes for names and items in chat
 
I cant help it, I am poorly trying to get along with actions/items on those new bars.
Who can explain me the advatage of bars over a keyboard layout, where i can place my keybindings exactly on the position of the keyboard key?

Yes, i am old and i adapt slow and badly nowadays. I know. No need to tell me that.
 
Radar can bug out to the point it can not be changed again and will take up half of your screen, nice. Have to do a full UI reset to fix it atm.
 
Reticle just disappears sometimes.

I loved the icons to switch armors and clothes and all weapons and healing tools..I am sooooooooooo sad.

Sometimes..Progress is not progress.

Marketing and Dev need to check stats.

This was a game of easier and smooth playing for many, it is a cash based game and if you want newer players to enjoy only whilst many who have more fluid income..you just screwed the pooch.

Make it an option to use the old one I say.
 
I quite like it.
Just a few things to fix and I can run with it :)
 
As mentioned elsewhere, I've been looking at new stuff very very slowly or not even at all yet.
This way, the ffs moments are more spread out, but my tally so far is that I like NOTHING that has visually changed as part of the UI stuff that I've come across.
Of the changed features, the only positive I've noticed so far is the loot total in an open loot window. It just occurs to me that it would be nice to copy and paste the value at times. It's so spontaneous I've not even looked to see if it's possible or if we must write it down... but I DO LIKE the basic feature.
Edit: I couldn't copy/paste it. I also found something else mildly positive - picking up fruit opens a new box, although it's hardly likely to interfere much with the loot total, is it? Anyway, it opens up the possibility of steering loots to particular boxes on purpose, but it's not a suggestion at this stage for obvious reasons.
I hope many of the negatives mentioned by many get changed quickly - and the bugs that are presumably completely unintentional are fixed ...
