Those who exploited are now mad they got caught and trying to get the event canceled.

That's a very bad take. Anyone with any kind of IT background knows how bad this design and setup is. Any company who creates events knows they have to make them bulletproof OR they cancel them and it is specifically for this reason. Also, I assure you the people who exploited will get away with it in the end - maybe not the boss part, but there are always multiple ways.

This is not what they said. They came with a general statement with no clear communication how they will actually deal with this. This is why there are frustrated people on the Ark Discord waiting to hear back how they will actually go about doing this.

I agree with the OP.

At minimum, check all the top candidates at the end of the competition and remove points gained by any additional bosses (over 36 bosses).
If someone "walked their dog" and killed 100 bosses - Just DQ. Main problem right now seems to be that Ark team has gone silent and isn't communicating at all.
