No...not the best. One of my favorites but, still not the best of it's time.
Here's a list of better films from 1980:

The Big Red One
The Elephant Man
The Empire Strikes Back
Raging Bull
The Shining
Stir Crazy
9 to 5
Airplane!
The Gods Must Be Crazy
Flash Gordon - I know, this one is really cheesy but, you gotta love the soundtrack. :)
Hollywood Knights
Private Benjamin
The Private Eyes
Wholly Moses

just to name a few.

So far my Top 3 Ever Movies

Place 1

Wild Things

This Movie is about Thrust and Subtile Intrigues. The Plot Changes sudden a couple of Times and alternate your Point of Viev drastically. The End is extremly Suprising. This Movie have greatly Entertained me and printed in my Brain for excellent Entertainment.

Place 2

Stephen Kings ES

I guess anyone know it and its an oldie too but this Movie have really Impressed me as i watched it allone in the Dark without knowledge of My Parents some Years ago. :)

Place 3

GoodFellas

This Movie is about the Mafia and shows how Trivial, Common and accepted Gore can become. It shows the Bright Sides and the Dark Abyss of a Gangsters Carrier. Its very Impressing and have a good Ammount on Stars who play in it.

All 3 Movies dont have Happy Endings. I dont like it when the Hero get the Fame and the Girl and Safe the Universe at End of Movie. For Crap like that i have sold my TV and Watching just Movies i like free of Ads on my PC ;)

Im also a big Fan of South Park and Simpsons
Little Cheap Painted Trash Comics with manny True Words in it about Humankind, love it :D

Hey was just wondering if anyone of you have seen "The celebration"? A danish movie... :D That's nice too...

SAW was just too scary for me, and I considered myself a hardcore "scary-movie-watcher" :(

Apart from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (already mentioned numerous times in this thread)

One film that stood out for me over the last few years is Brotherhood of the Wolf

Often I dont like to watch subtitled films, as you feel you're spending more time reading the text than watching the movie, but this is the exception

The producing, directing and editing were superb

I can't really say much more about it, and even the imdb link above doesnt do it justice, but all I can say is hire it and watch it

Took me about 3 months to get ulti to watch it as it sounded so crappy, but when it'd finished she was, like me, "Wow - damned good film" :D

How about Leaving Las Vegas? Have we mentioned this already?... I still love that one.

And Bond... I know I have not yet mentioned that.... None of the new crap though for me, just Sean Connery pls :kos:

I saw it too (with Zarathustra), and thought it was pretty good. Heavy on style and not too much substance, but cool nevertheless. It definitely has the look and feel of a graphic novel.

I wonder what Marco thought?

Saw Ray this weekend, I'm normally not into such biographic movies, but this is one I enjoyed ( must be the music ;) )

My thought is that it sucks that it isn't released in Sweden until July 6th...

I reckon BotW was so good (well for me personally) was that very french feel to the film, and what they do best: Dark, moody, atmospheric. (In the same way the Silent Hill intro movies are class - are they *ever* gonna make that film??)
