Past two days I browsed through 2017 screenshots, 5200+, and I found a lot of proteron globals and I was thinking how many times I advised players against those ... but hey, they were fun. Proterons were the escape after a hard work day at caperons back then. Looking at screenshots, wife is saying. 'I don't remember us doing so many of these ' and I told her to look at the time ss were taken. Almost all proteron ss were taken after she went to bed so there u go, now you know the reason.

I reached 100 on apr and started this milestones thread.

Biggest HOF 7200 halloween mayhem zombie dog. Rare item shopkeeper 1900 MU. Won 3rd place in Easter Mayhem, which was a Heliotrope, sold for 32k (see story for more details).

Loot 2.0 cam at the end of June and it looked like this:

Graph shows the "live balance" of the year starting on 0. Entry points are the days. After 2.0 I started skipping quite a few days. The big jump is the 7244 HOF on Halloween Mayhem and the big fall is from 12 dec to 31. For convenience I had a sepparate sticky for the MM runs so I added them all on last day of the year.

Mostly Caperoning fr the first part of the year, with small interruptions for some Gold Rush, Big Bulk invasion. Made a really big and bold purchase, got myself a perf ares for 20k, they were going for a bit more than that but I got it from my friend sorin and payed over time from shroom profit which happened pretty fast, in about a month. It was going really well so me and luzia were sharing the dut to collect shrooms, pushing the avatar together for 20+ hours a day and we were loving it, ills was going up at a steady pace, could afford to have some breaks on other mobs, some proterons, some maff tent, SK, Big Bulks.

Once a month there was a caperon uber, something between 1100 - 1500 ped and I am 99% sure these hofs were capped, except Gorpy's ATH. Caperons ere hunted pretty heavily more people were testing them in EST and getting better overall results than those waiting in their sleipnirs for wave to hunt and I was a big advocate of grinding vs wave hunting which is by MA bad design. It still happens today but the rare items don't all drop in th beginning of the wave, as shroom did. Back then you onlyhad to hunt for like 5 minutes with a big chance of a shroom to drop in the first few mobs and when you are on contact with other hunters, your cycle could have been minimum. Because I had a decent setup I could hunt continuously and very often the mob i was shooting when the wave started dropped a shroom for me. It wasn't raining shrooms, I was getting on average 2-3 a day over long term periods, except for the 1st of January where I got 13 in a day, because people were locked out due to the Gold Card issues.

In Easter Mayhem I did something silly, from a logical standpoint... I went to compete. I had 0 expectations, I just anted to see ho far I could get with what I had which wasn't that much, T9 M83, perf ares, bear armor and for heals I had to use regeneration XI because my adj resto was given as collateral to be able to borrow a Halloween 15 from a friend. I went as high DPS as I could, even managed to borrow a mk sight at some point, some L amps (Hootfoot I believe) full dmg enh and it was the first time using dmg enhancers. I had a problem with pills as well, was not sure which were best, but I did hat I could and looted 2 of those DSU9, the second one towards the end so I was already shitting my pants, everyone was struggling to get their first and me a pleb I had 2. Ended in top 3 ( https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forum/index.php?threads/easter-mayhem-2017-results.254217/ ), I won a Mayhem Scintillator Heliotrope, 2nd best Scintillator (a very fine tol, with 1% crit chace buff on it, pre loot 2.0, I was very tempted to keep it and let the m83 go. Or even better, sell both and get imk2, tough decision). People in top 10 had very high DPS, much higher than me, had rented gear, maxed out buffs, I felt bad bout it, but I was at the same time super happy I played my chance and got lucky. Happy times. Sold the Helio for 32k.

Busy collecting shrooms we got RX units event, they were dropping beacons which we had to tt wth the dozens. Then it was the last MMOWC Championship on Rocktropia and I took a shot there too. Format was... strange ( it's @NEVERDIE - what else you expect of him ), prizes were wild, a lot of money to be earned by the winners. I couldn't place in my category but I had huge fun.
Looking back, between the weekends with champions, there were mostly caperons but a lot of proterons too, more than i would like to admit

End of May Hussklings in PVP4 were introduced and I got an invite from the big boys to join them and clear the wave. I shit my pants a little from the excitement of the noob that was dreaming to one day joining one of those best socs House of Gamers or Why So Serious

In June Dev notes with loot 2.0 details were published and we were all very excited, reading between the lines, as we didn't really grasp at first sice they were not very clear, everyone interpreted how they wanted. My take wa that the loot would include healing, armor cost, so it reflected the cost. Initially I thought it would mean more loot, but then I figured it was just a rebalancing. Too many people were tt proffiting just by hunting above 3.15DPP. Loot 2.0 hit us hard... so I had to slow down what I was doing. The update was necessary and looking back the game could not survive for long to that increasing number of players going full on DPP. But those who understood early the benefitscould tt profit 20-30k a month, it was a goldenera for DPP grinders. I was looking up to them and learning, I just came a bit too late to the party. But I achieved amazing results nevertheless.

Migra started and t was my first migra where I really hunted just tried to se if I die. I could not 1on1 Eomons just yet but I could kite the youngs and matures pretty well. It was a fun migra for sur but I had very low tt return and had to put a halt on that nd get back to my shrooms. But it went slow, tt loss was significantly higher and I was not coming on top, luckily I had some bankroll so I was ble to sustain whatever I was doing.

Fast forward a little,Halloween Mayhem came with the introduction of the first UL 2.0 weapons, the reapers and messi dagger also came for the first time seasonal strongboxes in loot and they were 12 PED ech first few days then they went to 4PED each, imagine the frenzy.... it was so much markup if you were active that you could push through any tt loss and profit. I didn't seethe full potential, I could have come much better out of it, but I managed to make like 20k markup that mayhem. After a little low time MM came and boxes were 4-6 PED, FFA points 4pec, good markup to be made and not easy to balance with tt return which were below 95%. That wraps up 2018. I track MU when it sells, not beforehand but at that point I was always low so everything I looted had to go fast.

My memory is not good but going through the screenshots of the year a lot of memories came back. You can find some screenshots below in the Highlights section

One of the hardest missions for a low-medium player

I liked a lot when you could distance yourself from the NPC taking the window dialogue open with you so you coul get a HOF anywhere

First time in Hive I was getting a big beating from Bells

For a good period of time I was proud member of Rangers and I was really happy for the promotion by @UnaAlconbury

Spoiler: The story

I sold my beloved m83 to penethol right before merry mayhem ended with plans to lay lo for a while, or even quit because I couldn't see opportunities to chase at that point. For mayhems I started to rent gear to participate and won my 1st rare in merry mayhem (Solo 7 - 3rd - Eve Evey Everglades - 15m2s - 1 Placement Mayhem Token + 12500 Mayhem Tokens). Pretty much almost no hooting going on after mayhem until april.
In Easter Mayhem MA changed the format and I suddenly oke up in cat 10 with no gear and barely above the skill req so y chances were low, but I did ret gear and tried to compete, just i didn't make top 10.

After Easter more and more people were turning to Shared Loot mobs and events. Lots of ESIs and Shared Loot was still under loot 1.0 formula so tt returns were not terrible there however the TT profit era was gone, it was just scraps. I was using rented Gleamer T8. MA was spawning a lot of Shared Loot big mobs and there were several Hogglo Diablo events in argus PVP. All was fine and cozy there until a clown showed up and started making rules for noobs there, killing them because they shouldn't be there as they could snatch items. I know, right? Be nice with new players guys!

Went into summer mayhem with rented gear. Didn't make top 10 but had decent loot and got some tokens and boxes.

During the Summer Mayhem I was able to make a really great deal, buying my own gleamer, a t5, with 10k ped and 2500 tt farmed ESI.

A short RX event on an OLA came but with no beacons in the loot. Went into migra with my new UL amazing weapon and that felt pretty cool, but migra wasn't that cool so I was forced to do some caperoning for some more shrooming action.

FEN Started in the autumn with tokens and all those nice items and with some help I managed to get a LP 70 FEN and had to downgrade then sell the Gleamer and a bunch of MTokens were converted to pills and sold Hyper 10 for 7 each. Platinum tokens were selling for 60 PED, it was a good time even with a dreadful tt return. I was not too happy with the LP70. Loot is loot I learned and you don't stop hunting for markup because loot is bad is another valuable lesson I learned while noob. It served me really well, have I stopped hunting bcause loot was bad I would have missed a lot. After all MU generated for the year was very close to 200k PED. Managed to get an imp hedoc, build the first mayhem set.
It was very busy period, want sure what to shoot first, we had Agrash and Leumed event on top of merry Mayhem. Last day of the year I discovered the Kinetic FEN, my first FEN weapon great tool for PVP.
It was a fabulous year, I didn't have much DPS but I had a lot of free time so a lot of uptime and made the most with what I had.

Thanks for putting those data to us, you managed to play at the right time and do the right things to extract MU.

My question is about TT return, you have not used top eff all the time, and with not even reaching the L60 looter you manage to get 98.81% for 2017 and 98.55% return for 2018
When you show your TT return for 2023 in stream i don't see much difference between 2017 2018 and 2023, while there is a huge difference in looter level.

Thanks. Don't compare my results back then with someone else's results today.

My looter was small but so was everyone else's. I started lower but progressed fast due to high cycles so I gained fast those new looter skills.
Chasing MU and just logging the TT returns for as long as my storage could have handle it, allowed me to push hard and maintain good consistency.

If you remember those statistics from Mindark, they showed higher cycles to have higher returns.
Even if you can only play for a little time or for a long time, your best bet is to go for the highest markup your avatar can farm.
Having as mentors very smart guys like Stoica, messi, Ivi, great hunters with good results, I always had a boot in the butt when i complained about loot. They all said, keep shooting, ignore TT return and focus on MU. TT return is irrelevant, MU is king. I have them (and others) to thank for my good results, they have helped me, so to answer @Korin Dante MDe - depends on your cicles. If you surround yourself with idiots, there's very little you can learn from and hard for you to progress.
There was always the advice everyone hates - keep shooting and improve. It's always true, it always works. When you do something with positive energy and you put passion in it, it can only turn great, at minimum.

* I write MU as I sell it. Sometimes the MU on that month does not reflect the MU farmed that month, but it does reflect all MU spent that month (pills, enh, L amps).
Mu is everything I sell in direct trade, shop or auction. Auction feex are substracted. Shrapnel conversion is not tracked.
A lot of MU went straight into gear. Traded stuff for weapon, armour parts and selling them did not count it. With those, after MU, 2019 is over +100k.

Spoiler: The story

MA kept us very busy, we were in full FEN and items were dropping left and right. I was very lucky to loot a few stuff, which I sold and upgraded armour, got an imp hedoc, which I sold then bought again.

In the beginning of the FEN I fought in auction for some angel parts and managed to put together 6 parts which slowly turned into mayhem parts and the first Mayhem set I built was a project that got finished in 2020.

Merry Mayehm results came in and I got a 6th place in Cat 10 in Assault and started to grow my MToken pile again.

Between Merry Mayhem and Easter I did some tree cutting for looter, I did some healing jobs with a mod fap fen, I participated in a few LA events, some fun hunts with frends on SK, Diablos, went back and forth on caperons, a few Big Bulks but nothing too crazy as I never really enjoyed those, big marci were always in the meniu and Zychion started to become too, something really fun to do. Right after FEN I even found an Enigma 4 UL on The Eviscerator, whihc initially I thought it was a fake hof ad was unimpressed, while my healer which was in the room next to me was laughough her ass off telling me 5 times to look again.

I had the LP 70 FEN which I didn’t really enjoy but I was mad about the LP100 I could borrow so I tried to sell the LP70 and keep the LP100 for myself but eventually the LP100 had to sell and it sold before I sold my LP70.

Easter came and it had something new in it, the Robot Data Fragments. That was one of my favourite Easter Mayhems. I liked the side event with the fragments and that did nice MU for me with those boxes but I also managed to place 6th in Annihilation and 2nd in the Defense section, using only my loyal silver speed bunny, Bastard, instead of the so commonly used back then by half of the top 10, the infamous Yog Horror.
Boxes were 4,75 and looking through the screenshots I am a bit annoyed I did very little farming and a lot of Sandkings, Diablos, La events and other useless stuff

After Easter I went to do my data fragments mission which I really enjoyed. I was a bit tempted to even open those nice boxes to try and loot some schematics but they were too expensive to gamble. I believe the impact was small and that’s why MA never did it again or I don’t know. That side event seemed really cool and made me go mine for a few days at the rig.

I did a bit of everything after that but mostly went for longer runs on brood of all. Not very inspired, I wanted to keep the bones for me, spleen had some MU, but my looter was 66 and my evader 69 and with Lvl 75 on brood of all, I was nto evading anything and repair bills were pretty high. T6 LP100 was sold so I had to go back to LP70 FEN.

In Sumemr Mayhem I used the LP70 T2, Ivi’s LP100 T6 and rented XTLC1000 for Assault and Annihilation. No luck with points and on Assault the Yog exploiters had too big of an advantage there, I managed 8th place, but I got repayed so many MTokens from this one, later on WOOOH!

Tried some migra, but not too much, loot was bad, MU wasn’t enough, LP70 wasn’t too much DPS, went back and forth to caperons, I sold the LP70 mid migra for 64k. Didn’t include in MU in my sheets and I bought a Kinetic T1 TEN to skill with and mess around and I managed to loot a Bucketful with it, while skilling, on Legionnaire Gen 01. Sold for 6300 but man I wish I looted that few years back

Codex came in Sept and until Halloween Mayhem I didn’t do much hunting, only used some L chips and the TEN kinetic.

In Halloween I rented Gleamer T9 but farmed Hounds more than the actual Halloween, for boxes. But boxes went down to 2PEDs, returns were kinda bad. Wasn’t a good one. No real determination to participate in competition, did not place.

No activity before Merry Mayhem and I was looking to sell my armour and rings and liquidate, again. Merry Mayhem started and not long into Mayhem I sold my armour and ring to Ivi for 65k and went L armour and borrowed an Electric 13 FEN T0 from messi to mess around a little until I could sell everything. I did rent gear and participated in Annihilation, won 6th and some tokens.

It was an OK year in the beginning, turned fast into crap and I was loosing motivation fast at the end.

Spoiler: The story

As every year, it starts with Merry Mayhem and this time too, my screenshots show a lot of globals on other mobs that I should have hunted after Mayhem (SK, Warlocks, Osseo, mulci, Solo events).
I did rent some gear and managed to place on MM 2019 8th in anniilation.
After MM we had Caly invaded by Daspletors. They were fun but not too much MU on them since everyine was hunting them. I was lucky I could borrow the LP100 and I also started to build back a mayhem set so I did a little hunting here and there, some skilling with Cryo TEN, but not on skilling mobs, just random hunts.

NI introduced the Gorgon and I took some L weapons and payed a visit. It was when all armor parts were giving a HOF and the mobs had the hit box under the watter making very hard to play. Big Bulk event wasn’t interesting either but luckily Easter was around the corner. Wehn it started the COVID forced everyone to work from home, those who could so the uptime increased a tad.

Went for Easter Mayhem competition with rented gear but back then we also had practce so we could enter lower cats (the competitin ones were restricting us from entering lower than our levels) and with good gear I could farm some more tokens and boxes whihch were 2ea. Easter defense is one of my favourite so I enjoyed it a lot and managed to get a placement in top 10 as well. Could;ve gone better but it was that year when we had massive lag and with rented gear is hard to get a lot of attempts

After Easter, a little bit of capeoning, some gorgoning, some wasting time and summer Mayhem came quick and it was back to the fun again, I had a decent pile of tokens so I was determined to compete harder. I rented gear and managed to get placement in both annihilation and got 2nd place on assault, despite the use of Yog by quite a few. I took me all night to improve my score with 10 seconds and get a good chunk of tokens which could put me in a great position for my first vendor pull. The night I did assault whole night I ran through all my pills. As a non deo the amount of X and X2 is always a hadful so I thought of trying to get an egg or two. 20-30 boxes into my egg hunt found the eaater ring, one of the nicest rings ever, paired with the right ring ofc.

Two weeks after event ended Ma started to award the tokens and there were rumours tokens started to be payed so I rushed to vendor. I has 120 089 tokens. I had a sale thread for vendor pull, hoping to get some ped and add some more for Ivi’s LP100 T6, but nothing conclusive. I don’t know if intentional or not, as soon as I received the tokens and just seconds before I was going to pull LP100 for myself, I had a PM with an offer for BP130. LP100 was 110k MTokens and BP130 was 120k MTokens IIRC. I was left with 89 MTokens

Sold the BP130 for 85k and added 10k for that T6 LP100 that treated me so well in game.
I started to collect materials for tiering and by the time Halloween Mayhem arrived, it was already T8.
Tier 7 comps were rare and it was back when there were 2 phasms on radar max on OLA. I started to make support cases pointing out to the imbalance but it was pointelss for me, as MA moves slow. Tier 7 comps were about 650 to 700%.

I went in migra with my own UL gun and I was really happy about it! I managed to loot my first rare item during migra, imp angle part, M, from Warlock
I sold my FEN Kinetic amp 7 to Zitti because I no longer needed it and I could have used some bankroll and tiering and managed to get T7 at the end of august.

I went back to Next Island to check the new update with the scales and I stayed there for quite some time. MU was great, I was geared pretty good to handle everything in there. In the beginning serpent scales were 110 pED each but the drop rate made them quickly fall down in price. Because a lot of people became interested in upgrding these, also people became more interested in Gorgon armor upgrade parts so MU was really really good on NI. Asclarias pets were introduced, sold a few of those in the beginning, a 375 PED esi, a ton of fangs and scales, I was able to fund the tier costs at a good pace. The downside on Gorgon wave was that the hit box was still really buggy and it was hard to grind there. But at the sae time it made it unpopular for other hunters so I was hunting in peace except for the clashes with the yogbois, they always had a problem with someone and were mob training and insulting and that determined me to push there even harder. I managed to create MU on items since they wanted to buy off market for very very low prices and that drove them crazy which was fun as fck.

I was gorgoning really hard until mid October when MA came with an update, one of the best updates in the game - RDI Labs. I started to farm that hard. In the beginning it was quite challenging until we figured out damage types and since I was so active that Ls could not be sustainable, I managed to acquire Hazen 6/7 which was one of the best purchases I ever did in the game.

I was very active so I had to do other stuff until the old people i was doing RDIs with were waking up so I was gorgoning for a few good hours a day then RDIs in the evening.
Went into the Halloween Mayhem with my gun determined to go hard with my gear, without renting anything else and ignoring the houds.

Towards the end of the mayhem my gun ticked to 7.99, mats ready so I clicked then tried for one last annihilation run and also for the survival.

Jan Oaki said on his BC80 selling thread that LP100 is nice but you can’t win events with it. I said hold my beet and got 1st place in Annihilation. In Survival I placed 4th. Luckily! I woudln’t have gotten mod nano a year later if I would of placed 1 spot higher. I would have pulled a LP100 much sooner to sell, instead of my current weapon.

Lots of Gorgon in the morning RDI in the evening until Merry Mayhem. A lot of MU on NI to keep buying tier mats and make consistent TT loss in RDI.

Merry Mayhem started on 3rd of Dec and by 11th I already had a run done, even if I was jumping out for Gorgon waves. Got a good score in the begining that I could not beat by the end. We had to stop doing daily RDI because NPC Balodis got stuch beneath the ground for weeks and MA did not have an ear for us. Eventually they removed the Medusa wave, thankfully, so we could do the dailies uninterrupted.

Been a crazy year with the Covid and everything. My avatar really started to get momentum and I was really pleased with how the game was moving, with RDI and new content in most corners of the universe.

Good question.
It would be too tedious to do so, could be done, but I did some calculations at some point and the conversion sort of compensates for the TT of dmg enh returned in loot. I don't write that out but I don't include shrap either. So there is a margin of 0,something that it cancels out on long term.

The best practice on logs is to make it easy enough so you don't feel like it's work you have to do but rigorous enough that it can show long term progress because what you want from a log is to motivate yourself, not measure with crystal accuracy.
My TT in is all armor, weapons, tools and mindforce.. My tt out is whatever loot I got including tt of enhancers. In early days I was removing it, back when I was using accu enh and even later on, when I was buying enh I was extracting MU and also TT but didn't like to have to split a big batch of enh into days and didn't want to track break rate per day so I have up on that.
My MU out includes all MU spent in form of pills, amps, enhancers. Soemtimes I make big batch purchases in a month and I have enough for few months but the MU is considered in that month and MU gained from Shop sales, AH sales (minus AH fees - those add to a lot so they have to be considered), direct trades of whatever, all batches of boxes, batches of ESIs. MU does not take into account RDI sfae openings, profit after some gear sales. Those are bonus peds to cover for ME used

A log should represent what you want to see, don't make it a burden. Make it how you want to see it and adapt as you go.

I started tracking to report to the Mrs. in the morning for her peace of mined and I continued to track and imprive the tracking for my peace of mind and as everyone who started tracking (properly) discovered that <90% is the myth, not >90%
