Well, maybe i will loot a slot machine soon :). Ah, placing that 5-25 cents in a slot machine gets so addicting. If MA would put a pec slot machine, i think i would have a gambling problem :). We may need some societies to help ingame people get over with gambling.

I see what you are all saying. But regardless the chips will sell for money. And just like gel or spray or body fat they will sell for WAAAAY high %%% in the beginning. So therefore you are still officially using money to gamble.

I'm sure that MA has something worked out and i agree with Svet... they wouldnt put a poker table in game if there were no plans to use it. I just dunno if i like the fact they they are working on poker or what not. I'm sure tons of people would love it. But i just think its kinda cheesy. If this werent a real cash economy it would be a big difference. But it just seems cheeky to put in stuff like that.

If the item is no trade no drop then you couldnt play with the chips because you couldnt bet with them. And my guess is regardless of MA's desires to keep them free, there will be a market for them. The only way i could see it is if they are totally free. You can get them at the TT as MANY as you want. Then there would be no market because anyone could have them. But i think it would have to be like that.

Say, to avoid people with millions of chips in their inventory (cause ya know someone would do it) they put in TT you can have up to 5000 chips for free... Someone will want 10000 and there is now a market for them. I dunno, it just seems to me that they should avoid the headaches and not have "games of chance" at all. I mean really PE IS ONE BIG GAME OF CHANCE! hehe... Like i said before tho. Just my opinion, i am sure there are tons of people that would love card games etc...

No I don't want PE to become a online casino.
[1st] I doubt that MA would be able to do it under swedish law (tax problems mainly).
[2nd] I don't like "pure luck games". [Yeah, I still believe that PE is skill based]

In some countries even playing for free (beting worthless chips ammong friends) is illegal.

Everything in life as a value. It might not be very big but once a large number of it is achive it becomes significative.

So that table could be made just for decoration porpuses.

We also have beds in PE in case you didn't notice.
They serve no function other than decoration.

Why assume that the beds will never serve a purpose? ;) Why are our avatars naked underneath our clothes yet we cannot undress them unless there is a bug? :D Why do we have whips when animal taming is not yet in existence.... get the point? :girl: anything can happen
 
Maybe the table will just serve as a catalyst or door, if you will. Once you enter the game you get your chips. When you leave you have nothing. A completely seperate interface.

Adding a simple poker game controlled by the players not MA would circumvent Sweden’s laws, no money changes hands by MA. Players can move money, items, independent of the poker system if they wish. MA makes money by the card deck decay. ie loot or purchase a card deck, then every hand played decays deck by 10pec..

The actual game itself would be very easy to create; I remember creating a simple one on an Amiga system back in ’91, took less then a week back then (and that was written in C and assembly). Well, It not only adds an extra revenue path for MA, but expands team and social interaction, and new legit use of house/apt/hangers. :)

What would be the advantage to MA for doing that? That is my thinking.. nothing but talking is free in PE... So i doubt they will start now. Oh well.. I think DD idea is quite a good one tho. Would it decay your gloves?? ;)

of course, having it separate from game itself is what I was saying all along... a separate "economy" of sorts of mini games.
 
Why implement a poker table when a poker system aint ingame

Also,it would be illegal for MA to implement a poker system since non government approved casinos aint legal in sweden :wise:

Servers based in sweden,which means swedish law applies..The other "swedish" pokersites are run from servers outside sweden
