FYI: Whining's Profitable Hunting Log Q2 2015

Status
Mid hunt update. Time to slap on the damage enhancers and have some fun. 60 DPS @ 3.06 versus 95 DPS @ 2.96 if I use my I105 (excluding enhancers). That's an acceptable loss of eco for some fun.

Mmyupp.

Probably heading for CP tonight for the rifle rewards. Not winning anything on Ark with the almighty super grinder Quell in game. That guy is nothing short of amazing.

The second and third place rewards just won't cut it and the big reward program is not very appealing when I have no shot at top spots for weekly grinder.

Sooo setting aim for commando instead. Closing in on 55 laser sniper, and the grind plus rewards should bring me a fair bit over 60.

I played alot today. Will probably take a few days off. Since it apparently doesn't help much at all anyways. Was +600 at one point, then shit hit the fan and yeah... Having the lead right now, but expect to be overtaken during the night.

Mod2350 for sale, bought it too early. Spent too much of my bankroll as I did not anticipate this level of play.

You've got to wait until your avatar loot factor is back on a high. I would say your recent results are atypical based on dpp, so at least a short run of low returns was inevitable.

Incidentally, this is why i said that the tests you were proposing a while back would not give conclusive results as designed: there are long-term factors that affect your loot that you can't compensate for without very careful (or very extensive) tests.
 
Another day with shit to show for. Multipliers still far below average, globals coming in at almost half the normal pace and not a single global to improve my score. I'm starting to realize that I might have been an arrogant shit thinking I actually have a chance winning the event. I really need to reassess the situation; Only way for me to reach break even this month without hitting big-time would be winning the event or switching to a different hunting style on other mobs. With the competition getting ramped up I am not very sure about my chances.

I have not gone broke, but if I want to stand a chance I need to keep a high pace. If I'd like to continue in the same pace tomorrow, I'd be forced to drop a significant amount of markup on my loot to get it sold quickly. Seeing that my losses are piling up, I'm not ready to do so.

It might come tomorrow. I am planning on stuffing various household items up my rectum instead of grinding tomorrow night, hoping to get the same experience at a lower cost.

You had no reason to go full dps with damage enhancers. I've said before that my returns stabilized after toning down the damage enhancers. With markup stupidly at 400% for those enhancers, it's definitely not worth it.

Slow and steady wins the race.

You also need to keep in perspective that you had 3 ubers on that same LA in a very short amount of time. I don't know what you would expect to happen.

Frankly, I expected a loss but not of this magnitude. I hate that everything goes in waves.

Using damage enhancers was stupid yes. The enhancer cost is more than twice the cost of accuracy enhancers while accuracy enhancers pay for themselves and damage enhancers lowers the eco. I'm an idiot. Not a happy idiot anymore.

I added up stuff. So far I'm down just about 700 ped for the month (when adding the markup I have yet to add to the log and the accumulated big points). I don't know why, but I seem to overreact to losses.

I'll be back to accuracy enhancers now and I'll head back to KC where I can hunt naked. Time to start using the brain a bit again.
 
Everyone over reacts to losses. It's tough to swallow that you lose $80 in a hunt that isn't supposed to be gambling. But, one of the smartest things I did was to put things in a database and track everything down to what mob or area I got markup from.
 
when ever some 1 asks me about advice regarding grinding/hunting they always ask about setups/mobs etc..
and i always tell them that having an bankroll is the most important part imo
and to give some idea ,i still have times where i have to tt loot cause my bankroll is notenough and i have around 90k

I tell people the same, but managed to screw up anyway because:

- I spent 13,000 of my hunting budget on gear too early
- I went from cycling 30k a month to cycling 30k a week over night

I'll be putting some loot in the TT as well as making a small deposit. I don't want to drain my account by TTing too much loot and selling off stuff. The idea is to make it grow over time. As I noticed, the loss so far this month is only about 700 PED when adding everything up, there is no reason for panic yet.

I need to get better at cycling loot though. Just a few days ago I found 2,500+ ped of limited weapons in storage just because I've been to lazy to go to Caly and sell it.

I need to get more organized.

And 90k not being enough, I know you hunt at a high level, but that's amazing. It's no wonder that people with a few hundred ped in bankroll have a hard time squeezing markup out.
