Why do you like this game?

The reason I like this game has changed over time... in the beginning I enjoyed it because it was a new game to explore and figure out. I had fun figuring out how to sweat that exarosaur lurking outsife of Port Atlantis, and relief that nothing happened (like skill loss, PED fee) when you died... I was nervous at first.. I didn't have any PED and thought I'd get stuck that way.
Then I enjoyed running across the continents seeing how many new areas I could discover, and how many mobs I could outrun.

Shortly after that I heard about something called Serendipity, and I said to myself "I Must have this!" and that fueled me for many months. As well as the Argonauts... I hated them. I went to Argo Mountain at Twin befrore my opalo was maxed and camped them... died all the time, then plotted my revenge. I still like to kill Argonaut Hunters and think of my noob(ier) times.

After that, it was helping my society grow. I was promoted to Colonel and took the promotion seriously, and began to brainstorm events, and tried to think of ways to make things as enjoyable as possible for everyone in my soc.

Went through a phaze of questioning other societies members for ideas on new things to implement in my society...

Anyway, this is getting too long.

Oh, and the friends I made, I guess ;)

easy...CND

2) Pink Saturday's

The reasons why I like EU:
1. My soc
2. The other wouderful people in EU
3. the great chalange
4. The posibility that everyone can have different goals and still have fun together.
5. All the events (prefer the user created ones so even more power to the comunity)
6. The Future. The constant (but sometimes slowly) progress from MA/FPC with introduction of new content, new planets and new posibilitys. Even though I was not first into EU I (and so are everyone else playing at this time) was still in early enough to see some great changes.
7. RCE, without it I and most of you would not be here. Its what drives us all forward.

great community lol

oh yes great community
that community which -reps someone with different opinion

Question to ask = would u play EU if there wasn't a chance of nice loot?doesn't those ubers drive u playing?

and pls do u really consider sweating fun? i'd say it's more hard work then gaming

I'm with the majority of posters - the people I've met and spent time with, especially the Pyrates who are exactly as described! And a lot of the nutters in DDR too :D
people THINK they like this game. It's called a gambling addiction, very hard to recognise yourself as a gambler. Keep lieing to yourself fanboys, oh and I welcome all neg rep.
And who are you to decide that you know better than everyone else what their thoughts, reasons and motivations are?

The complexity and the fact that it's always changing and can't ever be finished.

If there were quests to complete like some other games and a monthly fee I'd be gone. We can leave EU alone for a while, pop in from time to time...play as long or as little as we feeel like without worry over wasting subscriptions paid, that's great if you think about it.

Uberloots have little chance of happening, in fact half decent UL items hardly ever drop now....but there's always something to strive for, skill unlocks, completing sets of armour etc. that we can set for ourselves as challenges.

I think Marco once said that unlike other games we may spend the same amount as a sub but in EU your little guy is actually worth more than before (even if it's just skills) it's not just spent and gone, you can get some of that investment back.

I used to like this game for the people.

But as I see more of the game, it becomes less and less appealing, to a point where even the quality of the people is almost not enough to keep me in here....

LMAO

If only I had a ped for every time I asked myself that very question! :smirk:

1. No other game is so challenging and it's a good thing. Keeps me interested. Goals are hard to achieve and thanks to this it tastes really good to finally achieve them.
2. Lots of great people around.
3. Freedom of choice. I can do whatever I want, go wherever I want.
4. Lots of skills to develop and good skill system. I do not have to choose to be either warrior or wizard, I can mix everything however I like.
5. No monthly subscribtion, noone forces me to pay. I can depo wherever I want or don't depo if I don't want to.
6. Possibility to withdraw my assets in case I desperately needed money IRL or got bored for some reason.

I love because no more GAME IN THE WORLD you can WITHRAW...

You should definetly open your eyes. I know this is a MA-pet and fanboy only site but what you claim is [wrong]. This aint the only game with a real cash 'economy' (that word makes me laugh here in EU).

Theres only one reason we are all still here:
ADDICTION :yay:

I like this game becausse of the freedom you have here and less at other mmorpg's ( pay monthly fee or go away). And I like this game becausse you never know when the uber will hit you ;).

I know EXACTLY when the uber will hit me....

EVERY time I try to mine pvp 4.

But to answer OP I know why I liked it when I started but am hard pressed now for any answer other then I am to vested to walk away and not solvent enuff to withdrawl and walk away.

because its the greatest game in the whole wohohorld! :yay:

it can make the longest sadest hour go by in a vink

You should definetly open your eyes. I know this is a MA-pet and fanboy only site but what you claim is just total bullshit. This aint the only game with a real cash 'economy' (that word makes me laugh here in EU). THis might be the first, but these days also the emptiest.
How many players are online at once here? Perhaps 5000 on a sunday night... compare that to other games with a REAL cash economy like Second Life where there are always around 70.000-80.000 people online. ;) (can I even say that here? who cares! )
Also there's about 200.000 US.$ transaction flows in Second Life every day, Entropia does not even get close.

Be smart, look around, stop wasting your time here.

:dunno:
But why are you wasting your time here
I don't even understand why you would even care
The op asked for reason why you like FPC
you don't...so
:dunno:

PS does anyone know what a purple dot means in the rep column
it's my first one...?
:dunno:

I love this game because, even if expensive at times, you know you can always take something back, and then more:D

1. Because we love futurist concepts.

2. Calypso is definetely a dynamic planet-considering the possibilities; the different choices and the risks you can take. This is the reason we really like Calypso.

3. Addiction? Maybe...maybe not

In short:

Game is a bit complex > still something to learn
RCE > Checking graphs, trends, price variations to save/make some peds
Looting "thrill" be it hunting, mining whatever (mostly because of RCE)
Friends, Soc mates and playerbase in general
Skilling, Unlocking new Wep/Finders/Faps/Skills, Upgrading equipment

(not sorted by any order)

Im sure I forgot to mention many more things ;)

I think you cant compare SL and EUs gameplay and style.
Transaction flow isnt the most important thing, as far as you are not strict trader IG (very little % of players)

Yes, theres maybe 10x less players online than in SL, many people are in the waiting mode be4 CE2. I think we all hope CE2+planets will bring more ppl here, and that it is a valid assumption.

AND ABOUT:

Could you show us a little something of what YOU achieved while we were wasting our time here?

TROLL

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I don't even get why your posting here, you dislike EU fair play. I hust hope you piss off to 2nd Life as soon as possible - all your doing is trolling, and not very well tbh.

I love this game because it makes my adrenaline rush like no other game :p The constant chance of hitting the big one keeps me motivated. I also like the people of course ;)

I like eu because I can run for miles without crashing or meeting any people. I have not started playing because I wanted to socialise, in fact, I didn't. Lol. Took me over a year to get into a soc and actually have more than 5 people on my fl :D

I like all the possibilities I have in here, if I don't want to hunt, I can go mining and enjoy the wilderness, or skill.

In the end eu is still "only" an icon on the desktop and when I am in the mood (which happens to be daily atm) I can come in here knowing I will meet nice people, have some fun, some excitement, some great graphics and prolly end up clicking myself into sleep

1) SL is not a game
2) It's not more of a RCE than EU from what I heard

Also there's about 200.000 US.$ transaction flows in Second Life every day, Entropia does not even get close.

3) How the fuck would you know? You seem to be here mostly to whine and harrass ppl who have a genuine interest in the game?

A purple dot is someone unable to give rep trying to give you a neg rep, it's the same thing I got from this tosser:)

He said there was more where it came from, hoping it doesn't throw my rep sheet's colour scheme off.....

Hurrikane

I like it because I enjoy donating my hard earned money to the folks at Mindark in exchange for endless clicking. :yay::yay:

I got 2 of the purple dots myself, after -repping him.
1st one with the wonderful message "Grats on having the ugliest clothes in EU", and the other 2 days later "Hey again fanboy!".
Also got a Visitor comment "Thanks for the neg rep :)"

Funny, based on this guys rep, if he harasses everyone who -reps him like this, he must have quite the list built up by now. ;)
