Having had a huge conversation the other night on vent with Mad Marlin we got round to talking about what TV we remembered as kids, think it started with talking about music and I mentioned the Banana Splits. Anyway it transpired that he thought he watched lots of programmes as a kid but didnt remember any of the ones I was talking about..... so I decided to put it out to everyone to see just who remembers what.....

Any of these familiar? These are just some of the things I used to and still do adore. Pink Panther was another fav and the Tom Foolery Show (which I have never managed to find on the net so far)

Added 06/10/08 - Public Information films Additions to post... there was one for anti littering which was a very cool style animation where the litter appeared on a country trail and had a very distinctive tune.. great piece of animation.. anyone found it??, Chopper????. Mind u some of these would be good to have back on the TV for todays kids. Though they would probably have an added one about the danger of sitting for hours gaming!

I remember the banana splits, wacky races, dastardly and mutlely, top hat, and the hair bear bunch.

There there was joise and the pussycats, jetsons, johnny quest, harlem globetrotters, jackson five, deputy dawg, grape ape, underdog, hong kong phooey, yogi bear, mr. magoo, fat albert, speed racer and so many more that I have not thought of for ages.

yeah I remember most of them, loved the banna splits theme song :)

only thing I seen of those is Pink Panther , but that I liked a lot :ahh:

The Double Deckers was my favourite closely followed by Wait Till Your Father Gets Home :D

I also remember those already mentioned plus Hector's House, Tales of the Riverbank, Trumpton, Chorleton and the Wheelies, Horse in the House and The Clangers.

I believe I read somewhere the other day that the Banana Splits are being re-made

oh i forgot all about Follyfoot!!! and man I loved that White Horses theme.. and yeah I know what u mean about tears to the eyes. Reminds me of the song Je t'aime by Jane Birkin.. damn that song always sends me too!!! lol...... oh ohoh... and MARINE BOY!! he was ACE... always wanted oxygum! I think I was a mermaid in a previous life.

I do also remember "size of an elephant" with the Arabian Knights and the Three Muskateers was good too. Never really liked Danger Island on the Splits show i have to admit. Did u know they had some really good songs? I jam Gonna Find A Cave with my bro now and then!!! I hate the fact they are bringing them back coz they will make a really lame crappy new version.. just like they did with the modern Tom & Jerry and new Pink Panther.. why dont they just show the original one?? Sourgrapes Bunch and all???

will try to keep adding to the links list as i remember more.. though pls feel free to add things too.

I love posts like this. Brings back the good ole days. They days i wish i was still in, all sheltered and crap from the real world.

Lots of nostalgia there, and I remember most of those fondly.

Lets not forget Saturday mornings.

There was Swap Shop or Tizwaz and you tended to be one or the other.

I was Swap Shop (Posh Paws was my favourite character). :)
