Hi folks!

There exists a good drawing made byNovacula. But I wanted to have a better overview of a whole floor.

My sketchbook was too small for this drawing. And to be true: I didn’t draw it by hand but made a 3D-model of it. For that I had to put it to an extra sheet.

Belonging to the measurements: The coordinates you can excerpt from the chat window are full meters only. That means all my measurements are X meters +/- 1.0 meter. Not very satisfiying. So don’t crucify me for some inaccuracies. I did my best to optimize the whole alignment.

To make it a bit harder the view from outside doesn’t correspond to the view from inside … Try to find the windows of the small apartments (A, B, E, F) from outside! They don’t exist! Some other dimensions don’t fit either you’re in or out. But at last I got a halfway good overview I guess.

or more poore:

For those of you who wants to have the 3D-model: I can deliver it to you in several native formats like SolidWorks, Rhino, 3D Studio, Sketchup and in universal formats like IGES, STEP, SAT or STL and others. So if you want to own the 3D-model send me a PM.

Here is a 3D-view of the model:

... Jamira - always optimistic ...

that must have taken a long time...

Very nice work on the map :). I have to spread the rep around first though :p

Thank you, I wanted to get my brain around the layouts better, this helps greatly!

Nice work, Jamira, better than the drawings i made. Much better....
:)

+rep!

nice models :)
btw, have you got any info or know where to find the 3D model extractor?
I did undestand that the models was NIF models, but can't extract them!
:)

WTH are NIF models?
No, I have no clue how to extract models. Wait ... I have a clue and asked Marco if I am allowed to make such 3d-screenshots. But I didn't get any answer. It's up to you to take this as a "yes" or a "no".

Concerning a 3D model of the apartments: see the initial post ;)

Wow... Very Nice Work! Interesting to see that the balconies differ in size between the C/D apartments. I also have a better understanding of the layout of my H apt. Thanks!

lol, NIF models are the gamebryo engine 3D models...
And the textures should be dds files...
But I still can't find a way to extract them from the bnt files (they are packed in a strange way and my C++ skills are low) ;)
btw, nice models :)

I belive the 3D models are encrypted somhow at lest thats what i heard from a person who has fun changing the textures on stuff in PE :D like making her face look like darth maul etc :D

and OMG Jamira
totaly +rep for doing such a nice layout

Good job! + rep

Great images

I think you need to double check the window arrangement in the D type (probably C too).

I have a D type in TI City and the window isn't against the party wall but near the balcony.

But a nice piece of work nonetheless :)

FYI the apartments on CND do not have balconies the hall way leads to a dead end FYI. }:>)

great work, i was looking for this thread :)

That's coz I'm a bad girl
But thank you anyhow.

Tried to +rep you too, but couldn't. Thanks for the comparison map! Years ago, when all the apartments first went on sale (and after the initial few months where everything was overpriced), I didn't know anything about apartments. I went to Treasure Island Copper Building and checked out the relative sizes and more importantly, number of items, and because I had so many items I wanted to display, I looked for "G"-sized apartments that were still available.

Luckily, it seemed that not many people back then knew the differences between the apartment sizes, at least the people who were bidding on them in auction...and even though there were only 2 or 3 "G"-sizes left in auction, I purchased mine for about 200 or 230 PED, somewhere in there, I believe.

Wonder what they sell for now? Any ideas?

P.S. It's 4G, visitors and comments welcome!

is a propritary archive created by MindArk, just like .BSA is propritary archive format used by Bethesda Softworks - who also use NetImmerse(Gamebryo) based engines for many of their games, including Elderscrolls III: Morrowind (older NetImmerse) and Elderscrolls IV: Oblivion (Gamebryo).

Since both of these games are hugely user-customizable - in fact Bethesda supplies the Editor, and their devs often provide detailed information in their forums as to how to make various things work - I've even been personally supplied with referece character models, pre-rigged, in .MAX format for doing mod work with these engines, there exist a number of tools for unpacking these archive files. Be warned though: These things explode exponentially when unpacked - an average archive can contain hundreds, if not thousands, of files and subdirectories.

If you're hell-bent on cracking one of these .BNT files open, I can give you the e-mail address of the programmer who wrote the utility for unpacking .BSA files, and they might very well be able to do the same with .BNT files - just drop me a PM and request the address.

Now fiddling with these files might have some unintended consequences - such as not being able to connect to the servers (modified files don't match reference file data, bad checksums) or introduce all sorts of instability into your game, necessitating an uninstall/reinstall.

Or, in a best-case scenerio, only you would see any modifications made. Say you've got some modeling skills, and can make avatar clothes - the powers that be know I spent endless hours doing this for Morrowind - and so you remodel an outfit. You might be the only one who sees it, while the rest of us see you running about in whatever the base outfit from which this was made - ie remodeling your colonist OJ's into a 3-piece suit might look right to you, but the rest of Calypso will still see you in your OJ's.

AND this is all assuming the EULA does not outright prohibit this sort of activity - which it might - I haven't committed it to memory.

~I
