wtf are you guys talking about?


I could Drop 10k ped in mining and see 70% return if i don't keep going and persistent till that hit well i guess i get what i deserve nothing.... cause i gave up at the most critical time.
 
maybe, in your experience. could also go the other way when you drop another 5k and get same return.

FU MA with your 55K ath....
 
Indeed, to little to late.

Fecking ATH with stackables, way after it pisses off the people who was waiting there for the event to begin.

SACK THE LOOT MANAGER.

The funny thing is, shared loot events are nothing new. Last time something this big was spawned I remember lots of people complaining, saying never again, boycott, this is a scam, not fair, ubers this ubers that. And I just saw most of them right there doing the exact same thing they complaint so much about last time.

And my guess is the same thing will happen the next time.

Can you imagine the sample size needed for a creature this big to even out the returns? I can't either.

PS: Oh, and another 54k ATH happend seconds ago.

Persistence is wiping out most the ped card early afternoon, getting F$%k all in loot, to see only later on, an ATH with stackable's, excellent management there.

not when persistence = how much $ you have..... "Oh I have hunted these mobs for 1 hour, I spent all my peds, I need to depo more money to hopefully get something back, other wise I'm an idiot" My desire or patience to hunt them more has nothing to do with it. It has everything to do with how much $ I can put up or am willing to put out. There also is no guarantee with this game, just because I pump out the cash doesn't mean anything.
sorry this is nothing against, or to do with you Strash. I value and welcome your opinion. This is just me being cranky and is what I"m hearing from the majority of players also.
I knew an ATH would come, because I'm not willing to sit there for hours putting out peds to hope to be there for it, doesn't mean it's ignorance.
I want to hunt these type mobs to have fun with the whole community. If I can't last 1 hour with the peds I have, then I question how much the fun is worth it. That's always been the main draw to me with these mobs, is the fun - not the hope to loot rare item etc.... that hope comes through that is what I need to survive this hunt.

But doesn't that require that you actually do have 10k ped on your PED card?

I didn't stop hunting because I wanted to.

I stopped hunting when my PED card started to approach 10 ped, my good hunting rifle was gone, my (L) amp on my plasma rifle (1) was gone, my (L) amp on my plasma rifle (2) was gone, and my katsuichi determination sword was gone.

I did deposit once during the hunt but when the gun broke I did a quick check how much I had already deposited during the month and came to the conclusion depositing more (new gun+amp would be at least 1000 ped, plus cost for more ammo) wouldn't be a good idea for my IRL economy. (No, I don't have any Foeripper or Dante amp I could just put in repair at an ammo refill stop.)

And yes, this means I had to bail out before ATH nr 1. And ATH nr 2.

I mentioned this earlier today, and I can keep saying it a lot of times:
The purpose of these events are just that kind of depos.
MA needs money IRL, and they do these kind of events.
A big failure for some of us, but for some it's fun. Can't please everyone.

I'll cancel my comming depo thou', thought I should do one when migration
starts but those k will not go in to EU. :)
 
Has been nice seeing so many familiar names in the killing field :)

Got to be involved in bot 50k ATH's + lots of others before and after.

As it was taking around 15-20 for each bot there was a lot of shooting going and a fair few deaths :(
I was happy to see at the end I was about even (thanks to the ATH contributions)

Other than the moaning about poor loot by people as they continued to shoot the thing that pissed me off was people saying they were using an opalo and getting loot from the kills which more than covers their ammo.
Ok people can shoot whatever they want but if we all chose to sit back wit pee shooters we wouldn't get anywhere.

If you're really not happy then move to one of the other four planets (and moon eventually) and send a message to MA and the Calypso devs ;)

Atleast you'd be helping to build the economy on the those planets with the ped you spend.

I think u are over estimating the indulgence of people. I would be surprised if it lasted more then today itself.

Overall a bad loot distribution, nothing unexpected though.

So many people are pissed off. The state of community is still the same it was 2 shared loot events ago :D

If MA came forward and released a ''dev note'' regarding the shared loot events, they would probably tell you to use MAXED stuff in the event and try to use ''affordable'' DPS setup. What is affordable? Something that doesn't drain your PED card straight away.

I am most certain that those who stayed for a longer time (to participate in the 2 ATH), got quite decent returns.

In the end it's all about your patience and anger management skills :D

I've maxed felis. I've maxed my (L) heal chip.

And when mobs drop stackables in the size of 200 peds/unit, (at 2k-4k total it means 10-20 units), you need to be among the top 10-20 shooters (counting dmg/sec) to have a a good chance for anything above 0 ped, which means you need to be using the fastest gun you have.

When gun breaks permanently though there is nothing much I can do (if I don't have enough PEDs to buy a new weapon right away). Also when PED card is empty there is nothing more that is "affordable DPS setup", what you can do is to use up the weapons you have on you hoping for that last straw.

(I do have a faster weapon in storage, but since there is no chance at all I'll get a new one, it's a X5(L) with good tiers, I won't use it as it would be used up within 10 minutes on these mobs. Oh, I forgot to mention: It's (L). It means I can't repair it when it's broken. I also got a HL12(L) in storage which I also looted a long time ago. It's TT is rather low though and it's not also repairable. I also got a rocket launcher Vrex 2000(L), but at 11 ped TT and being (L), that is it's not possible to repair, I didn't even bring it to the robots as it would be used up within minutes.)

Haven't been myself, but one thing I'm not hearing this time around is "Crashing all the time". How is the stability?

What stops you from using lower level guns? Are you trying to say, that a 40dps avg gun isn't enough? You should've read the shared loot tooltip more carefuly. It's written there that items are split depending on your total dmg%. It means, that any DPS has a chance to loot an item. The thing is, the higher your dps, the more aggro chance you get. When you get killed while using, let's say 70avg dps gun, the person next to you with 40dps will out-dps your damage done so far, without them dying and while you port back, they already will have a bigger chance to loot something while spending less than you :)
 
Wiser from the previous BS events of this kind I "only" lost 300 ped this time, :yay: I truly hope I§ll be wise enough to leave planet immediately next time :ahh: I wasn't shooting my highest dps gun, but still managed to pump about 40-50 peds into each of the 6 or 7 kills I've been a part of .... getting 0-1pec ammo loots in return :scratch2: Ofc. ATHs dropped after I ran out of ammo and left.:lolup:

Btw, I already moved camp to another planet last night :yup:

I was off the area for a longer time due to CTDs than due to deaths. At one time even CTD -> Death -> (teleporting back) -> CTD (within 5 seconds). And as you know if you get a CTD you're off for "one minute", effectively around 1½ minute. Also I later realized though I had a for me good dmg/sec, there were a handful (or more) players with higher dmg/sec.

The thing that skewed the loot distribution this time was the loots with gems (only) and big TT items (2k+) only. I don't know how they're handled during loot distribution; but gems are stackables and not items. And the problem why I didn't stay the night was that the first mobs made me broke, total loot from then wouldn't even be enough for one more of them.

And, well, maybe it's a personal thing; I'm hunting for item rather than a huge pile of PEDs, so that's why I was using the fastest guns I had in the beginning. Further on after my fast weapon broke I kept on for a while until I reached the limit where the weapon amps I was using (on other weapons) broke. And, well, the general feeling I got was that the dmg/sec I made was too low to be able to expect any serious returns.

only killed 2, and i don't think i need to say what my returns were like :D
 
I see many old-timers who are angry because they went into the same river again. Don't you learn at all?

I learned long time ago that my chances to get something nice are zero. Also I do not like to pump my PEDs into shared mobs for others. Therefore I even did not bothered to join event, I simply grinded my mob of choice.

One thing I need to admit tho - loot distribution is sick. Random Number Generator is seriously broken or not existing at all.
Prove? I saw one of streamers looting 3 emeralds (900 PED) plus few stackables from 3.x k HOF. That means almost 25% of tt value in 3 separate items (Emeralds), and taking into account number of shooters it is something really strange.
 
I did a try, and used 100 ped ammo, return was 5 ped loot. So no more of this very unfair event for me! :mad:
 
I did your sister Scarlet yesterday, Jermain, and she was fine..

I would love to see the TT spent during this event, for all participants and then compare it to the loot TT that went back.


Would we go back after seeing those returns?

Indeed.
Looks like they tried to make it "interesting", by adding random loot distribution between players to the usual randomness of loot for each mob.

Don't u get it Caly team - people just wanna shoot those badass things with all the others and defend Caly, like backstory says. Could be so much fun for everyone!
The usual loot swings would be ok, all u had to do was to show us we're not robbed blind in favor of few lucky ones and more ppl would join in, turnover would go through the roof. U were so close to creating something cool, and u still managed to break it down with this extreme casino thing...

Don't forget the conflict of interest between MA as Developer, and as owner of Calypso.

It is in MA's interest to deprive players of their Ped in ways that aren't decay, which has to be shared with CLD owners.

The Moon will be one way, atrocious Loot is another.

0,000001% is ofcourse 'a chance'. Doesnt mean it's realistic though. I'd rather think that the Coke Zero ad (with the car breaking down and two hot girls stopping to repair it) has better odds. Learned from previous events that if you're not present when the ATH drops, it's a kamikaze pedsink.
 
So the answer to "where is the display case?" was the most obvious - they forgot :)

It turned up in inventory today however it has a fair few visual issues for what should be a very simple model, including a ridiculously long load time which means more loading lag for wherever it gets placed.

Will post pictures up tomorrow once I've had a chance to work out if it's going to randomly CTD people if put on the ground.
