Could you please tell me one thing: Are your career losses close to what you just got? What I mean is: did you loose a lot of money mining during the past few years or were you profiting in general (skill sales included). I don't need a number, just a yes (I lost a lot) or No (I'm making money).

Actually I would say over all before this I was pretty close to even tbh. I had two bad spells 18k losses over 2 months then 13k over 10days but somehow it worked itself out. I just stuck with it through the good and the bad kinda like a marriage I guess. If that meant chipping for ped then that's what I did, after all they are just skills right?

Chipped out all my prospecting etc a few days ago ... decided to splurge on a 102 amp with my uber 211 finder...
Currently sitting at lvl 6 prosp

Sell: all mining and prospecting skills

No kidding, looks like I'm chipping in the wrong direction...
... Always better to be lucky than good.

So this is a way to show that the skills rnt count always...

Chipping out miningskills seems to be the only way to hit an uber!

No there is no discontent, someone who mines all the time at CND gets lucky and finds a really big ath - I think they deserve a gratz without your jealousy.

And no, chipping out is not the only method to get a decent claim, what a nonsense - towers get found by people of all skills, who've chipped in or out or not at all.

First of all bigass gratz on a once in a lifetime find, dont know you personally but judging from the comments here you invested alot of time and money in PE/EU before you found something like this, so respect from me regardless of your current skill-lvl

Secondly its "kinda" common knowledge that miningskills and thereby the ability to use a "big" finder affects what you can find (raritywise), and not the size of the hof, so nothing new there (just wish it was that way in hunting but thats another discussion...)

Thirdly (and nope im not a miner so nothing personal, doubt i dropped the same amount of bombs as you have by now in my whole PE career) how does this compare to MA claiming skills is the main thing to get in this "skillbased" game, when the size of mininghofs is based 100% (no not 99.9999999%, 100%!) on luck (even seems the amps dont matter, im pretty sure all of the ATH's on list are found by lvl 3 or lower amps (or none..), i know more people use the lower lvl amps but not even one with a lvl 5+? ) ?...
Cant even be arsed to be annoyed in any way about it anymore i just truly dont get it?...

Sorta hard for (some) of us to stop whining and start playing.. because we are the ones who paid for those ATH's, rather than having even close to a 50% return, let alone a possibility at a break-even!


I agree with The Ones post there, he summed it up pretty good. What level was Leeloo when s/he got her #1 mining ATH? Newbie, or established hunter w/high profession level?
Or Stryker, Neomaven, or any number of some of the old-time hunting/crafting ATH's.

I can guarantee you they weren't no lvl 6 in their given profession at the time.

I do congratulate Eceri for the ATH, but just wish MA would figure out which way they plan on going - fleecing the medium~uber hunters to pay for the lower levels to get their HoFs/ATH's, or fleecing everyone @ a set percentage, and having everyone get their regular ~70% return back...
