There isn't any data collected or aggregated to assert your chicken little assertion. Just perception bias. I realize you're still jaded from losing your ass on warlocks while paying for mod fappers and high armor decay but that's your own choice. You decide to play with a severe negative edge. People always come with the lazy and weak retort of sucking mindark's dick and all that other crap but in reality, people like me are just rebutting people's emotions that are not tied to any data. It's what.. you know.. people who understand the scientific method are supposed to be doing. It may come across as pompous but it is only that because we are asking you to backup your claims with something meaningful instead of just because your spider senses are tingling. Show me your math.. if it is valid, then you might have an ally. If not, be prepared to have your arguments debated.
And as for Rick, what I'm pointing out is that to say that the number of mobs not in the weekly loot totals varies and so it would be you that failed percentages. It would also depend when people captured that data for their weekly trends. If it were the same, it still wouldn't be accurate since not all mobs have the same cost to kill either. That would be a disproportionate effect. You can need a lot more information to determine this games trend than what any data source can provide you. And yes, if you want to skill pets and play within your budget, that is your choice and should be what you're doing... if that is what makes the game fun for you.
These aren't difficult concepts to grasp folks. Most often times when you look at data, you realize your emotions are completely wrong. You have to take the emotions out of it. Otherwise this game is unnecessarily stressful and you'll burn out and you'll also burn everyone else out and ruin your credibility by constantly claiming the sky is falling. You don't want to be this person. If you are this jaded that you constantly release this frustration on pcf, then by all means sell your stuff and go.
I will just say that it's not necessary to go for the throat, surely we can 'discuss' the pros and cons of it. 'Chicken little' is obviously a US expression I'm not really accustomed too across the pond, but it still appears to me a put-down (now against another poster).
All I know is this, in all the years tracker has been available it's only missed
about 4 of my globs, so in percentage terms it's got to be less than 0.5%. I cant even be bothered to do the maths because the variance is so small.
So it's fair to assume (from my point of view) the data is reasonably accurate most of the time. Most people would agree that after an event the hunting drops off. I think the original post was suggesting that the community is focusing on events rather than the day-to-day grind, and just maybe that trend is growing.
That sort of makes sense to me, iron missions have burnt out many of the long termers. Sure I've still got more to do, but the appetite isn't quite there. That doesn't mean I hate the game, I've just taken the foot of the gas, the appeal of it has lost it's edge maybe.
Hey it happens; for a game to hold players for a decade is quite impressive.
I'm not saying the games dying either, but I do know 'like it or not' that 1250 ped for £100 is lot of money in my budget. Maybe you guys get paid a ton more in the US, you certainly pay a ton less tax. It's not about dick size, it's about asking yourself a simple question....can players afford this, and if so, do those players feel that they get value for money in entertainment terms...for the time their budget lasts.
Is that the biggest issue here?
For many of us, we're online every night. so the old argument that a night out on the town will cost x, doesn't really cut it, because you couldn't afford that every night in the real world.
Look; we do what we can, although we shouldn't start hating each other and cutting people down. Because we have no control over the rules here. Yet we push on the best we can.
I could go on and on mate, it's a debate, and gut feelings "that sixth sense" have their merits at times.
