there was some other prog where they asked maybe 20 americans what they should bomb next time...
the guy showed him a map without names on the countries and asked them to point.

most ppl pointed at australia, west europe and sweden... they thought it was the middle east. :rolleyes:

I'd love to believe they wouldn't be able to find this many stupid or badly educated people in my home country, but I know in my heart that they would :rolleyes:

Yes you can, but as an Irishman im sure your aware of being the buttend of English jokes for years about lack of intelligence. These days its the Americans, in the future who knows maybe the English ! There are plenty of ignorant people in every country throughout the world! Its just humour ;)

I don't blame them really.

They have in my opinion one of the worst educational systems in the civilized world.
(in terms of system that is)
puting cross in front of the right question althought easier to correct by the teacher doesn't show knowledge retention, after 1 week even if they trully knew the answer and didn't got it right by pure chance they will most likelly forget it.

Until they get to University where it gets better, and becomes one of the best (if the students still want to learn).

Anyway enciclopedial knowledge tests are over rated, farmers of the 18th century lived all their lives without them and where able to be part of the construction of great nations by feeding those who trully matter.
