It can't possibly be true, but yup, it's my first diary post. I've been busy hunting most of the time these past six months, but today felt like a great day to see what Eudora has to offer in beauty. I have to admit, I was both delighted and disappointed at the same time. Just think of what could have been, maybe a big castle of the evil Feffoids or just an abandoned city filled with photos of since long forgotten lives. What I found was something completely different, I tent here and there and som signs I laughed at for like five seconds each. What made me delighted was the existence of these ”special” places and the journeys to reach them.

I don't wanna ruin the whole surprise and therefore I've left out the coordinates and some of the attractions on the way.

I started out today close to Atlas Island North looking for a good adventure. Because of the fact that ammunition costs money I decided to try my luck without any means of protection. So far so good, no evil forces stopped me and I found an abandoned camp. Not much to look at really, only one robot that more or less looks like a Mechwarrior. I decided to take my picture with it as you see below.

[br]Click to enlarge[/br]

So far, so good I thought and ran the path to Thetys Creek. On the way I saw some tents, they looked almost Indian, but that didn't interest me that much. I wanted tall buildings and evil Feffoid towers. Of course, I did not find anything like that, but what about nuclear waste? I found a puddle with some orange acid. Without doubt I jumped in and started dancing, as I would have in real life as well. It took less than 15 seconds and then I was dead. I was able to take a photo of myself enjoying the last seconds of my life though as you can clearly see.

[br]Click to enlarge[/br]

Dead, buried and after a while revived I decided to move somewhere else. Thetys Creek and the whole Atlas Haven was just too familiar to me. I decided to go check on something which had to do with Feffoid traders as far as I was concerned. Of course, some Maffoids were blocking my way. I asked them nicely to move, but they just would not. I call that bad behaviour, but when they then kicked and punched me to the ground I was furious. If you see these Maffoids anywhere, please kill them for me!

[br]Click to enlarge[/br]

Instead of holding a grudge I decided to revive again. To make a long story short, I had to run all the way to East Hadesheim to reach a teleport and get away from this forsaken land.

Because of my hunting I haven't had much time to look around as I previously stated. To my big surprise I didn't even have Camp Echidna on my map. I had to make it there, just to hide that terrible newbie side of me from the outside world. I bought me a some ammo just to cover the trip, only 20 peds worth and repaired one of my amps. I then teleported to Chimera Canyons since it seemed like the closest place to start. I did not count on all these Merps, Berycles and Sabakumas though, all old to dominant. Well, that hasn't stopped me before I though, could be because I've never hunted these maturities of previously stated mobs. Actually, I did quite well. Made a good profit of 50 peds according to Kn00b Stats with only 20 peds worth of ammunition.

With these glorious hunting stories put aside I was getting closer to Camp Echidna. It seems I must have been a little too close to the so called ”forbidden zone” since I found a sign which almost made me turn back. Of course, we are talking about me here, so I decided to take a picture with the sign to show I wasn't afraid. I even did my best to portray a smile, even though it turned out pretty fake.

[br]Click to enlarge[/br]

To make even another sightseeing story short, I made it to Camp Echidna and moved on to the next adventure. This time I went to Nymphtown to see what secrets one could find nearby. I noticed there was a small island closeby and as the (un)fortunate adventurer I was today I decided to take a closer look. Some turrets keeping the fish away and someone who had been in the sun a bit too long.

[br]Click to enlarge[/br]

I think Bob is a suitable name for this guy, too bad he didn't use enough sunblock though. The bottle you see by my right arm tells another story, but I'll leave that to you. I let him be alone and went on my way. I had never been down to Rex Bay before, so that was my next goal. Not much in the way, only some hungry Atrax, but they had to taste the cold bittersweet taste of lead. In other words, as the horrible man I truly am I killed them all!

To tell you the truth, Rex Bay wasn't much to look at. Just a little outpost filled with orange wearing adventurers. I moved on south west hoping to find somethingof interest. First off I found an abandoned radio tower and a nice little tent. Someone even left me a Lysterium stone there, I took it and placed a ped at that same spot. Because of that ped I will not show the photo, but the bed there was very cozy. Nearby I found an abandoned village, maybe once these Umbranoids lived there. One thing is for certain, Exarosaurs and Daikibas rules that village from now on. I was able to take a picture with myself, a wonderous sign and one of the villagers.

[br]Click to enlarge[/br]

He was very friendly from the start, but in some way I must have offended him since I soon ended up in Rex Bay again... revived and lonely. At that time I just wanted to leave these hidden mysteries of Eudora for a while. Maybe I'll take a look at some of the other places of beauty this world has to offer, but for now I'll just go to sleep and dream of what could have been if I wouldn't have offended that villager...

Teddybear and CND

My second diary post and this time I have much to tell. First off, when I logged in today I noticed something in auction I truly craved for, a teddybear! I would rather call it a teddydog, but I won't critize MA for calling it a bear. This was the cheapest teddywhatever I've seen in auction so I bought it at Buyout. Of course, it was some peds over markup on PEAuction, but who cares when it's fluffy and cuddly. I decided to put it in a corner of my apartment and took a screenie with the usual me looking like a jack's behind.

[br]Click to enlarge[/br]

The next thing I noticed when I went out on my balcony for some fresh air was a tremendous amount of dung! Someone had put over a hundred pieces of dung on my balcony. It would take me like half an hour to clean it up. I discovered who had done it after a while and he's forgiven for the time being. For some strange reason I didn't take a screenshot. If someone happens to visit Treasure Island City after reading this post, please visit my apartment at Bronze building 7C and pick up the dung. It's yours for free, I can even pay you a ped or two for cleaning it up.

This day was kind of special actually. After speaking to Arthur Tedt King about some furniture for my apartment I decided to visit his shop on CND. Two of my nice society members wanted to come along as well. I don't remember the name of the pilot we chose, but he looked pretty strange. He had almost no clothes, just some Hawaii shorts and seemed to need some plastic surgery. Anyway, the ride was smooth and then we stod there on CND looking as cool as ever.

diary_1_20060625.jpg

Arthur Tedt King was neither online nor on CND when we arrived, but I checked out his shop anyway. I can tell you, I have never seen so much furniture before. He had everything and I do mean everything. Shijin and Kaban tables, a Mars globe, statues of all kinds etc. If I was rich I would buy it all, but for now I just had a little look. I will buy a table from him, that's for certain. No matter what it'll cost me since I really need to make my apartment more pleasant (it looks like my real life apartment now which really isn't nice at all). Screenshots of his store will be posted tomorrow if I have nothing better to do, which I usually don't.

Nothing else to do but to hunt we figured. I think we tried everything, Cornundocaudas, Berycled, Exarosaur, Longu, Atrax and Allophyls. It seems Lootius only exists on Calypso since we didn't have much luck at all. The biodome with Atrax and Allophyls seemed to give the most return so we continued to hunt there a while. We hunted with a happy face as well hoping that Lootius actually was looking down (or up) on us.

[br]Click to enlarge[/br]

Highest loot was around 43 ped which was so close to a glow in the dark, but it all ended with a loss for me anyway. For now I'm off to check some shops again in hope of finding a cheap table and maybe a sofa or a shelf of some sort.

Dung and Caudatergus

I finally got home from CND and to be honest with you, I didn't buy a thing. After much consideration, the prices were just too high for my budget. Arthur Tedt King promised to give me a free Stinktree painting if I visited his store though, lets see if he meant just a visit or a guided tour of it. However, I did not feel like waiting for days for him to show up. Instead I found myself a ride home to Calypso and my previously stated stinky apartment.

Not much had changed in my apartment, still very much dung on the balcony. I feel like killing the guy who did it and even more now since he just got a 200 ped global as well. Anyway, just take a look at how horrible of a sight it is.

[br]Click to enlarge[/br]
[br]Click to enlarge[/br]

As you can see, there is no way I can clean that up without loosing much valuable time. Nevertheless, it's kinda nice having the only "decorated" balcony in my building.

What else happened today then, not much to tell you the truth. I rearranged my apartment some to fit in some items I'm expecting. Lets not forget my friend, Mr. Caudatergus himself. I decided to stop by Omegaton West Habitat to check on some shops and on my way to the TP I met my friend. He was quite shy at first, mostly walking around the TP time and time again. After I encouraged him a little he became very friendly and even agreed to pose on a photo with me.

[br]Click to enlarge[/br]

He followed me to the auction hall even and the shy soul I saw earlier was completely hidden inside a strong and self determined animal. He said hello to everyone inside until some poor excuse for a man decided to shoot my friend to death. It was a horrible sight (almost as horrible as my balcony), just seeing him lay there lifeless. Too make matters even worse that worthless guy robbed the late Mr. Caudatergus! He laughed and said something about him having a ped and som wool in his pocket. I rushed out crying of course, but lets remember Mr. Caudatergus for what he really was as seen below.

diary_4_20060626.jpg

I don't wish to write more about this incident, so I'll just change the subject to tomorrows post (if any). As I said I'm waiting to get a hold of some furniture, I'm very unsure when it will arrive. Two pieces of, at the moment, secret items are being prepared for me. At least I hope so. If I'm lucky I may see them tomorrow. Further items are on their way as well. If nothing arrives and I still have time to write here I'll show you my nice new pants colored by my dear ingame friend KILLER Thriller MILLER. Much joy awaits you as such.

Rest in peace, Mr. Caudatergus. I will miss you, dear old friend.

Dung removal service and more

I recieved a PM today from Tidesong with some very good news. She and one of her society buddies have cleaned up my balcony! Full post can be found here. I hope they will have some use for the dung. When I saw my balcony I was jumping with joy, it didn't even smell bad anymore. Thank you very much!

To change the subject, Wanderers Society has got a new member, AJ. He seems to be a nice guy with enough skills to deserve a place in the greatest society of Entropia Universe. So now we have 11 members, even though one is scheduled to be kicked soon. There are still places open, so go ahead and join us while there's still a chance!

In other news (I love saying that) the vice president of Wanderers Society, Denki Dank Musashi, lent me a Starkhov AS-97 yesterday. I killed a bunch of Maffoids with it today and it was so much fun. Of course, I lost around 30 peds on that hunt, but it was worth it. I am now looking for one of these great carbines for myself, so if you have one to sell for a reasonable price you should contact me.

[br]Click to enlarge[/br]

Above you see an image explaining most of todays events. You can also see my new wonderful pants in the image. They were made with Snarksnot skin by the way, not that I made them myself.

I don't seem to have much more to write at the moment, lets hope I'll get my furniture soon so I can upload 200 pictures worth of crap for my diary.

Hunting, skilling and sightseeing

A picture says more than a thousand words, wouldn't you say?

diary_1_20060629.jpg

Like you can see above, Timmy (and the lords or the underworld) stands next to me. This creature was no other than my very own pet for a week. I borrowed him from a good friend ingame, Neversoft, but I had to give him back today. Though I constantly neglected him and I mostly had him locked in the stable, I really miss little Timmy now.

To change subject I have skilled a lot today. I hunted Exarosaurs for a bunch of hours and I got my first skill surpassing 4k! Finally, one step closer to Serendipity. I managed to loot an Empty Skill Implant as well, even though I've looted around 10 of them in my Entropia Universe days it still feels good. A total profit of 65 ped today according to Kn00b Stats.

Hey wait, even more happened today. I decided to visit Morningstar Castle for the first time. Nothing much to see really, but it was a fun trip nevertheless. I took a bunch of photos, but none of them were good enough to upload here. When I came back to Camp Echidna after the sightseeing I met a very weird girl. She tried to dance close to me and even though I became kind of excited I kept my distance. She then created a team called "Laid" which she invited me to join. I'm not sure why I accepted, but it couldn't hurt I thought. After a minute she disbanded the team and wrote in the chat that I had just been laid. Really fun to some maybe, but I just don't see the point of such jokes.

Please let me get my furniture soon! However, that's all I have to write for today.

First disciple graduation and summer outfit

It's been a while since I bothered updating my diary, but I guess today is as good as any. I tell you, sometimes things look kind of weird when you take off your armor like seen below.

[br]Click to enlarge[/br]

It was kinda fun roaming the land of Calypso as a bodiless entity, but I grew tired of it after a while and relogged. All good things has an end I guess.

The main reason for todays post is my first graduating disciple, ThunderCat. He reached 100% today and I could claim my mentoring gift. I didn't expect that much and I didn't get that much either.

diary_3_20060702.jpg

I wish I could get at least something with a markup of TT+50, but I guess it'll have to do with this one however worthless it might be. ThunderCat was thrilled to finally get rid of me and I'm equally happy to finally end his misery. To be honest, he was a very fast skiller. It took him less than one and a half month to graduate! I wonder if I'll ever find such a good disciple again, of course he could be a little bit less talkative. Not a minute goes by without TC writing something about "how f*cked" something is.

It was fun to have a really active disciple though and I hope him the best of luck. I got him a graduation gift as well and I think he's quite happy with it as seen below.

diary_2_20060702.jpg

You can see my summer outfit here as well. The jumper is in auction now though since it has too many fields in my opinion. A white jumper would be very nice so I'll definitely try to find one. Until then, my old and trustworthy black jumper will have to do.

A got a small global a few days ago by the way. Go and give me some gratz!

One more day and much more stuff

Don't give too much thought to the title. Seriously, nothing spectacular has happened, but enough to update my little diary.

To start, my good society mate Moonbiter has got himself a new look. I don't know what ran into him, but I guess he felt like spending some peds. He got himself a beautiful Berlin jacket with some nice coloring, a brand new Rancher hat and a nice haircut today. I followed him all day and saw him grow from the little boy he was into an adult with nice clothes.

diary_2_20060707.jpg

I had some small changes made to my appearance as well. I got myself some nice Urban Nomad Black Slacks which I've longed for for a long time. A lot of people have commented how much blue I wear, so this will probably make them question my choice of clothes a bit less. I visited Pinky for the first time to see Moonbiter get his hair colored and cut. I must say, she's very nice and polite. Not only that, she has some great prices on hairdos.

[br]Click to enlarge[/br]

I have before whined about never getting the furniture I want, but that has changed now as well. I bought myself a wonderful Kaze table today and it surely makes my apartment look more like the home of an EU addict (which I of course am). I forgot to write about the nice furniture pieces I recieved from Arthur Tedt King in my last diary post by the way. He gave me a Stinktree painting, a Cozy candle and a Small green mat for free just for visiting his shop on CND. He's really a nice guy and he surely deserves his monopoly on furniture in EU. Below you can see how my apartment looks nowadays.

[br]Click to enlarge[/br]

[br]Click to enlarge[/br]

I have also taken my time to explore the new Amethera, the snow and the glow. All the new TP's are now collected and I had great fun running around. Not to mention the fact that young and mature Nexnecus are easy enough to kill, so at least one new mob gave me satisfaction.

[br]Click to enlarge[/br]

Of course, I should tell you I have one more global to show off. Go and give me some gratz if you feel like it.

Apartment changes and mentoring

I finally bought myself a Reddo lamp! It cost me more than I was willing to pay before, but today it felt like a good day to spend money. I'm so happy I did because now my apartment finally feels cozy. The only thing missing is a bed, but that's something for the future.

[br]Click to enlarge[/br]

[br]Click to enlarge[/br]

As you can clearly see above, this is a big change from before. I also bought myself a display panel on which I placed my first mentoring gift.

Not much more has happened to be perfectly honest. Found myself a new disciple today, but I'm unsure if he'll be able to take the pressure from me and the game. To tell you a secret, I also had a hard time deciding if I wanted to keep playing when I was a beginner. What actually made me stay was something as small as a loan from my mentor which I just had to pay back. It was only 10 ped, but I always keep my word. It took me a while to get him those 10 peds back and when I actually had that much I was too far into the game to stop playing. One month later I graduated and then things have just kept going. Maybe my graduating disciples will share one of these stories with the world in the future. I can only hope I'm doing as good work as my former mentor and that my future disciples will be proud to have me as a mentor.

I've actually given much thought on that subject. How much do I have to do to be a good mentor? What I have done as of yet is to do some TP-runs and tell my disciples about the game. All of them also gets a free spot in my society so we can discuss things in society chat. I try not to force them to be active, but tell them the positive sides of the game to keep them interested. What also has crossed my mind is if I'm actually qualified to mentor skillwise. I'm no Akoz or Ido for instance, just a regular player. It's possibly better not to be a so called "uber" when it comes to mentoring since it's important to have time for your disciples. Maybe the only requirement for mentoring is to believe you have enough useful experience to pass on to others?

I'll end this post with that question. If you think you know the answer I suggest you PM me directly. I really want to know...

Theories, AS-97 and losses

Hello there, I just can't stay away from the diary it seems.

Like most of you readers may already know I'm wasting a lot of money now. My hunting profits were all saved for about four months, but now it's all gone I'm sad to say. I heard from a good society mate that someone was selling a Starkhov AS-97 on the street for an acceptable price. You know me, I couldn't resist the temptation. Nothing else to do but to buy the sucker and try it on some wild hunts. I tried big Feffoids and small Longu to name a few and to call the weapon a "sucker" is not an understatement. It sucks the peds from my account and blows them away to oblivion. The damage and rate of fire was wonderful, but loot wasn't there for me. I have a some theories why:

1. My skills are not that wonderful and especially not on BLP weapons.
2. Using the same amount of ammo as on Opalo makes losses bigger.
3. Economy on AS-97 is only good with an amp.

The second theory came to mind when I noticed how fast the ammo disappeared. To compare with the good old Opalo, you need a lot of ammo to actually loot the good stuff from Opalo friendly mobs. In that sense it's only logical that you need a lot more ammo on the AS-97 to loot good stuff from AS-97 friendly mobs. The last theory has a lot to do with the first one in my opinion. I have pretty lousy BLP skills so an amp wouldn't do much good, I would just lose more since misses are too common. The bottom line is, after losing 150 ped in a couple of hours I will put this weapon on a shelf for future use. When my skills are acceptable (at least 3k HA?) I will begin using it again. Until then, my trusty old Opalo will have to make my ingame ped balance rise again.

Speaking of weapons, I made an observation of how my hit ability looks after this new VU (8.5.1). It seems MA has made some changes to the route of the bullets. Instead of going straight forward they swirl around a bit. This is a scientific observation of course with very accurate results. Instead of telling the whole story in words you can see the result displayed below as an image.

diary_1_20060710.jpg

That is all for now. I have to try out some high maturity Fouls now and see how they will treat my ped card...

Time for some skilling

It's been a while since I posted, almost two weeks actually. The truth is I haven't been playing as much as I used to because of a bad luck streak. Thankfully, it's not that horrible anymore and I can actually profit in some cases if I hold my Opalo close. I have myself confined to Exarosaur hunts now since I don't seem to lose as much on them, up to 20-50 peds in the worst cases it seems. However, I'm determined to get through it and some new skills brought me a lot of joy!

Today I got 4k in Rifle and 4.2k in Laser Weaponry Technology, my highest skill. To make matters even more joyful I got a new professional standing, "Good Laser Sniper". I'm getting closer to Serendipity, but it's still a long way to go.

diary_1_20060722.jpg

On to something completely different. I won a little treasure hunt sponsored by rstock a few days ago. 143.80 peds in TT value actually. I recieved a couple of unpleasant comments since a few guys here called the treasure hunt a newbie only event even though it was clearly not. I do agree with them to a certain degree since newbies would surely benefit more from the items and their value. What I did to compensate was to create another treasure hunt with a TT value of 102.85 peds. It had lower value of course since I don't think I did anything wrong winning the first one and I did wanna get something for my trouble. Fiona Simmons won that one and since she's not a newbie either she created yet another treasure hunt. It's almost funny how far this thing has gone, but it's good fun nevertheless.

A little note to the people who gave me these unpleasant comments, remember to read what all these threads are about before you complain. while you're at it, swearing does not do much to help your case. Also, I can thank a lot of people who supported me for winning the event and even a bigger bunch who gave me reputation for the event that followed. A big :beerchug: is what you deserve.

A virtual universe of bugs and Shogun

These last few days have been very bad for me. I managed to sell some of my items in storage and raised about 150 peds. Of course, I had to do something to lose those peds. A society mate of mine decided we should go on a Beacon mission and I was kinda interested myself. We gathered a bunch of people and went away. What happened first was that my society mate did a mistake and activated the beacon to early so one of the team members got left behind. Later two other members got themselves killed because they thought they could beat the drones even though their armor was not the best for the job (unplated Ghost I think they had). I on the other hand borrowed a set of Vigilante and I had no problem taking out the drones with an amped Justifier MK.2. This was when the bugs started appearing.

  • A drone was trapped inside a wall. It could shoot at us with no problem, but we couldn't hit it whatever we did.
  • I tried to walk along the sides of the wall in hope of getting a clear shot/view of the drone. I did get through the wall, but ended up outside of the ship slowly falling to the ground. Mission over for me...

The two team members left behind could not finish this mission by themselves since they couldn't kill that drone and time was running out. In the end the ship exploded and not a single ped did we get. I made a support case and I hope we will be able to get some kind of refund, at least a new Beacon.

Despite this big loss and these terrible bugs, I'll keep on smiling since this virtual universe can still be fun as long as you want it to. No senseless whining from Hrafninn.

My current project is to acquire a full set of Shogun and some 2A armor platings at this moment. I want it for all these stab/cut/impact mobs and my Ghost gives too much protection, in other words too much decay. It's going pretty well actually, I have already acquired five armor pieces. I just need to find a face-guard and get enough peds to buy six 2A armor platings.

diary_1_20060725.jpg

In a few days I will be able to take down some small Atrox with a reasonable amount of armor decay. I can't wait!

I'm back with a bigger stack

It was over a week ago since my last diary post and very much has happened during that time. Instead of writing a simple list I'll go into depht and tell you everything new.

Skilling Handgun
You heard me, instead of killing Exarosaurs with slow and low damage bursts I have begun skilling Handgun. Not just any pistol either, it's the wonderful Breer P2a (L). It has good economy even compared to Sollomate Opalo and I will keep using it for a long time to come. There are two negative factors concerning this pistol, its availability and its markup. Both factors are related, but it seems I will have no problem with it in the future. A nice person called Eli made a thread about her Breer P2a (L) crafting service and I decided to contact her. It only took a day and now she is on my friends list to contact whenever I run low on pistols. I waste around one pistol every day, so I am very happy I found Eli!

I'm up to 1200 in Handgun already. My goal is getting pistoleer as a professional standing and also to unlock Serendipity as soon as possible. I know it will take longer since I am skilling Handgun, but I would rather have fun than running around with Sollomate Opalo and get one Rifle level per day.

The end of my bad streak
I have complained some about how unlucky I have been the last month, but it seems I can finally break even or profit once in a while now. The turning point was the Exarosaur hunting event on Outback Land 23. I was the first one in the event to get a global! Surely it was small and not nearly enough to make me win, but it was nevertheless the first global in a months time. Nimroda was actually able to capture me in a screenshot just before the event if anyone is interested.

Yesterday I looted an ESI and today I made a really nice profit. Weird how many things you can loot from Berycles without even getting even a single global.

diary_1_20060803.jpg

All in all I ended up with a profit of 92.07 ped according to Kn00b Stats.

The HOF you don't want to hear about
It's actually the HOF I didn't want to hear about. My society mate ThunderCat got a HOF with a value of around 20k peds about a week ago! I'm very happy for him of course, but it makes it even harder for me to keep playing without getting deppressed of all the losses. It feels so unreal in a way. Just a month ago he was my disciple and I remember how jealous he got of all our globals in the society. Now the table has turned and we are all jealous of him instead. Things can change so quickly, but at least I'm still way above him in skills. I'm gonna keep playing and someday I will beat his HOF with an ATH!

Calculation of total skills
Since I am unable to beat my society mate in riches I decided to calculate my total skills and beat him in that. Of course, it would work better if I had been doing more than just hunting since the beginning. I am clearly a hunter and I don't have skills in many other areas and that affects the total skills very much. Instead of keeping it to myself I can share the result with you all:

Health : 106
Total Attribute Value : 128
Total General: 5341
Total Combat: 18273
Total Defence: 1374
Total Medical: 4156
Total Science: 280
Total Information: 62
Total Mining: 96
Total Construction: 5445
Total Tailoring: 4
Total Mindforce: 104
Total Beauty: 4
Total Level Value (No Attributes) : 35139
Total Level Value (No Health) : 35267
Total Level Value : 35373

I don't really know what to think about it, so I will leave it for you to decide.

I think that is actually all I have to write for today. I'm tired and need to rest for todays upcoming hunt. Nothing special, but a hunt a day keeps the inactiveness away.

After a two months long break I'm finally back into the game and have been for about two days. Much is different and we have many new society members I will have to get to know. At first it felt more or less natural to step down as leader of the society to a division/department manager, but the senior members wanted me to stay as leader. I would have expected chaos to occur in the society, but the other members have kept it running quite nicely.

Back into the game I'm still to score my first global which is kind of sad, but I'm not known to give up (just rest apparently). Instead I sold a lot of crap I had in storage and bought me a great new outfit as seen below.

The Master coat was bought from Etopia's wonderful shopkeeper in Genesis HQ. Shoes comes from Etopia's shop in the same region. With great help from ThunderCat it looks pretty good. ;)

In other news, the amp nerf scared me half to death, but as I said I'm not known to give up. I decided to test out the new range of limited pistols and found the stunning Svempa S60 (L). I'm not used to BLP weapons at all, but that doesn't matter much when there's only one economically sound weapon I can use this VU.

To point it out, it's great to be back and I hope others feel the same way. I have missed everyone and I can finally say up front that I'm not a "quitter" by any means. Expect to hear more from me really soon.

X-mas, champagne and a VU

My first christmas ingame made me realise MA is a bunch of friendly little dwarves giving us some nice toys to play with. When I logged in today I had a big feeling what I was gonna get since I read the forum just an hour earlier, but it was still very nice. I decided to save my champagne for when I global, that is if I don't global too much. So what was there to do but equip my Karma Killer and spread my christmas joy? Two hours hunt and then...

diary_1_20061218.jpg

As you might have guessed I globalled on that hunt. Maybe I should use it only for HOF's, but that would mean I would never get to use that bottle.

All in all this is a great VU in my honest opinion. The sliding and the lag is back, but I have nothing negative to say about the rest. Alright, maybe I just wanna throw my computer out the window everytime I shoot a mob since the sound is so annoying, but I'll get used to it. Not to mention the horrible HOF sound when you level. Almost gave me a heart attack when it happened! Actually, is there anything good about this VU? Well, it seems my damage interval is higher for some reason and that's very good indeed. Almost feels efficient to use the Karma Killer. I'll just leave it at that so you can draw your own conclusions.

By the way, I exchanged my coat for one that actually looks nice (unskinned) and let Etopia color it. ;)

Equipment update and orange ;)

It was a while since I wrote anything in this diary. It seems I've been too busy with both EU and work to give you all a heads up on what's going on with my online self. So anyway, over two months ago I did my last diary post and much has indeed happened since then. Let me do this the easy way and split it into different parts. ;)

Disciples
Since I am now back ingame, playing around three to four hours every day, I decided to take on some new disciples. At this moment I seem to have four new disciples all in orange. I don't know if it's bad luck or not, but my disciples never get anywhere to tell you the truth. Not the mention all these youngsters that login once, gets a mentor and leave for good. When I started playing EU I almost did the same thing though as you might further proof of in this diary somewhere, but it seems harder and harder to understand why after these many months (around 14-15 months since I was born). Some day, maybe even the same day as I reach my long awaited ATH, I'll get a disciple who will actually stay in.

Society
As you might remember (well, I'm forcing you to) I took a two month long break a while back and my society had a lot of trouble during that time. One member, who shall remain nameless, decided to take action and lead the society during that period. That decision wasn't the best it seems since most of our precious society lost its identity and the members went seperate ways while still being in the fragile society. When I finally came back from my break I was kinda stunned how well the society had survived and it seemed like everything was just perfect, but after weeks or online time I noticed it was in fact a society from the twilight zone or something. Everything seemed so good and everyone was still with us, but our spirit was gone. Sounds tragic to say really, but it was true.

I didn't dare to say much since I felt like an intruder who just couldn't understand how good it all was. A close ingame society friend of mine left us a while later and pointed out the same faults that I had noticed myself and that kind of forced me to do something. I changed the whole structure (or rather I added a structure) after discussing it with some of the closest society members. The result was a new beginning for me at least, but I hope the rest of my society feels the same way. Once again we are close and more united than we had been in a long time. Of course, it's still not as perfect as it could be, but it can only move one direction and that's the same direction as CND... Up!

Equipment
A lot has surely changed both with me and with the community and most of us still want to move forward even though loot is totally crazy and the newbies are newbier (it's a word... right? Well, it's a word from now on at least) than ever. I decided to buy new armor for myself so I can finally hunt the big mobs I have long wanted to try out. Many of my society members have already tried these mobs out in team, but I'm a loner more or less to tell you the truth. Team hunts can be great as long as I have tried the mobs out first by myself and know how to hunt them so to speak. So back to the armor, I have ordered a full set of Phantom and also a set of nice 5B plates! With this setup I will probably be able to take down some small Hogglos by myself and if I heard correctly maybe even a Chomper young! Not to mention that I will also be able to visit Crystal Palace by myself for the first time in my EU life! Of course I'll have to empty my already empty pockets to be able to pay for the setup, but in my opinion it's worth it. You never know with Rugaritz either, it may run out sooner than one may think.

By the way, I know it's ugly, but I'd rather look ugly than pay five times more to get a Jaguar set. It can't be so bad, at least I'll look a little like OgiMini. ;)

Art service
I have been looking for a real ingame profession for long where I can actually do business and maybe earn a few peds once in a while. It has been impossible for me since my pay check isn't exactly the biggest one ever and I don't want to chip out to hangar up either. This new VU gave me an idea to start selling some art I like doing in my free time. It's computer generated landscapes made with a software I really don't need to name here. With the right lightning and features the images can become really beautiful and even dreamy. Why not then do landscapes resembling the beautiful shores, forests and deserts of EU? When asking myself that very question new art came to life and now I would really like to sell these pieces to my fellow Entropians. I would love to see them hanging on as many walls as possible, but still make the pieces limited enough so the buyer can feel a bit special. ;)

More information to come on this matter very soon (maybe even sooner than you think).

That's it for me. I need to catch some sleep so I'm well rested for my Phantom. :D

Revisit on last post / Phantom and art

As usual I'm kind of slow when it comes to updating my diary. Who knows, maybe I actually have better things to do? Anyway, as usual a lot has been going on these past weeks. I have my own art gallery with five uploaded gems of beauty and not to forget a brand new and shiny Phantom armor.

Hrafninn's Hideout
I bought an apartment in Sakura City to promote and work on my art in. I decided to name it "Hrafninn's Hideout" since it is private at the moment even though I let people in for private art viewings. All my art is on display here and I hope to keep it that way, but I might sell off a painting completely some day if I get the right amount of peds for it. As of yet, two paintings have been sold at the moment. Both buyers decided to buy after looking at all the pieces displayed in Hrafninn's Hideout and I hope even more people will be interested in acquireing my art. In the not to distant future I hope I will be able to have a shopkeeper there selling the art. However, as far as I know this is still impossible since signs do not display the content when viewed in inventory or possibly a shopkeeper.

In the worst case scenario I will sell them in a shop. This is something I really don't wish to do and in reality I would rather not have a shopkeeper either. The reason for this is that I won't be able to speak to the buyer personally which I really appreciate.

Today I also bought the wonderful art piece "Tapestry of Natural Nonsense" by Karadi. It will go perfect with my art gallery and I can cover one of the empty walls with it. I wonder if they will ever go up in value? If so, I'll be a rich man in about a hundred years from now.

Phantom
So it finally happened, I bought a full set of Phantom. As of yet I'm in love with this set and with 5B's most mobs don't even dare go near me. I never thought I would be able to kill Hogglos, Neconus and Aurlis by myself for instance which I'm now able to without making a fool of myself. I killed my first Argonaut Leader yesterday and I have a feeling I will be killing the first of most mobs that were to hard for me before soon enough. Not much more to write really at this point, I will have to test this wonderful set further to tell you more about it.

Three months later...

It must have been years (in retrospect rather three months) since I wrote anything in my dear diary. Like you can see however, I have finally written another entry which will have to do for another century or so I guess.

So what has happened in Hrafninn's Entropia Universe life? To tell you the truth, there's too much to write about and I don't even remember what's new and what's not. I have bought myself an Improved EWE EP-21 however which is most likely the best (as in most fun to use) weapon I have ever tried out. Not to mention I have become a chipper more or less. After countless hunts to reach Coolness I kind of gave up and I have since then improved ranged laser (dmg) and laser pistoleer (hit) with some small and not too expensive skill implants. Today I reached level 39 in laser pistoleer for instance which makes me Professional. Of course, I still can't hit anything even at point blank range, but it does sound cool.

One thing is for certain, I won't buy any more skills until I reach Coolness. I would believe it to be a lot more fun to unlock naturally (or rather semi-naturally) than by implanting chip after chip and never even touching a gun.

In other news, I bought myself an OF-105. Mining isn't by any means my main profession, but I love to do it when I'm tired of hunting or just too poor to invest in all that ammunition I constantly waste every hunt. This far I'm profiting in mining at least, so I guess my new finder isn't that bad.

That's what I wanted to share of my avatars life this time. No social experiences, just plain corporate bull that MindArk wants us to embrace. No, I'm not that negative about Entropia Universe really, but it's different these days without a doubt. I guess I'll forget about skilling and wasting money some day and get back to just being the good ol' Hrafninn who's always up for a chat or a free adventure. Let's just hope I'll get there soon...

Hrafninn invades Hadesheim

It was a long time since I wrote a diary entry and the reasons are many. I could say it was because I had nothing to write during that period of time, but that would be a lie. In reality I have been lazy and busy with other matters. The important thing here is that I returned.

I was thinking of telling a story about my recent visit to Hadesheim and let other news like skills and profession updates wait till next time. You may see this as a revisit to my first diary post if you so wish, even though both Entropia Universe and my avatar has evolved quite a lot since then.

Without the need for further introduction I entered Hadesheim Central around 22:45 MA time. It was a colorful and surprisingly bright evening in Hadesheim, although only a couple of tourists showed up for the tour I had set up in my mind. In reality they did not have the slightest clue of what I was up to, but that does not matter now afterwards anyway.

I decided to start running east since I would not be able to visit all locations in this huge city during my short visit. I had a... ehhm... plane to catch. Yeah, most certainly. Once I had crossed the bridge to the east part of Hadesheim I was struck by one of Omegaton's marvelous advertisements. I was surely neither furios nor raving, but I can understand why someone would purchase an item from their large weaponry department if that was the case. I would believe such advertisements would not be that appreciated in the less virtual world, also known as the "real" world.

Still shocked I continued my journey only to find another weaponry advertisement. I would believe the woman in the advertisement is or at least was foreign due to the color of her skin, but I am yet to figure out from where these blue people reside. This blue woman is holding some sort of melee weapon I suppose and seemed to be posing for the biggest melee weapons company in the virtual universe, Castorian. It is at least nice to learn more about the company that made me lose so many peds in the past I guess.

Moving on and slowly letting myself forget about these mysterious blue people. I found an automobile in the middle of the street right outside what seemed to be a hospital. I have no idea why the automobile was parked there, but there is a possibility that there had been an accident and the owner of the vehicle is now doing his or her best to heal while staying at the hospital across the street. If it is just a decoration, it does surely make the street more colorful at least.

From there I could see what I had heard about so many times before, one of the old time clothing shops. I remember seeing an ancient propaganda movie about Entropia where joyful people bought many pieces of clothing from there. I had to visit the shop just to see if I could hack the computers inside and receive a piece of clothing. When inside I quickly figured the mission to be impossible since the computers were noticably damanged. Not to mention the fact that the shop lacked a shop keeper. Too bad, but I guess there is nothing else to do than to simply moan.

Not thinking straight, I thought the best idea was to gather electronic components and do my best to repair the computers inside. Like in a daze I ran around in the big city to find a shop selling the components I needed. At least I found a shopping area. I guess it is kind of a mall from the old days or something along those lines. Should I had been surprised about the Omegaton advertisement above the entrance? If you are hopeless and lonely you would surely feel better with a big gun, or am I wrong? At least then no one would dare to tell you the sad truth.

My mind cleared up somewhat when I entered the shopping area and the insanity was replaced by some severe form of paranoia. If there were more hopeless and lonely people out there they would surely have been affected by the advertisement. I figured I had to defend myself from those tragic forms of life. Happily the shopping area was packed with more shops than I could count (for some reason I had trouble counting above the number "2"). I found a friendly merchant from the big, although unknown, company chain called Aegis Armor. He offered me a good deal on a set of armor that could hopefully keep me alive for the rest of the evening. I should not forget to mention that it looks stunning with my coat as well.

I quickly left the shop after politely saying good bye to the merchant. Maybe it was Aegis himself? Anyway, I found a weapons shop just beside it simply called Lock'n'load. With a name like that it couldn't disappoint I told myself. The shop keeper kept a close eye on me for sure. I guess he would not want me to run off with one of the exclusive guns inside. I could find a wide arrangement of weapons, most from the manufacturers Affirmative Action Arms and Earth Weapon Enterprises. I felt right at home to say the very least.

From the window I could see a blueprint shop on the other side of the shopping area and I guess I forgot about my paranoia for a second. I was back on my mission to reapir the computers in the old time clothing shop I entered earlier. I rushed inside and went into some sort of a dream state. I was in heaven or what you would call it in the universe our virtual selves live in. There were blueprints all over the place on display. You could only guess what I was thinking.

The only problem was the merchant who must have noticed my intentions were wrongful. He stated the component blueprints I needed, whichever they were, was not in stock at the moment. I did not believe him for one second, but it was a dead cause. By now I was surely hopeless and lonely, I figured the only thing I could do was to leave this bastard of a shop keeper. On the way out I saw what could only be seen as salvation in my eyes. Yes, it was a bar. with a crooked back I entered into a smokey atmosphere, which afterwards felt quite strange since there was no smoke machines or smokers inside. Nevertheless the bar keeper didn't surprise me with his response to my presence. No drinks... in a bar? They were expecting a shipment soon, but I didn't have time to wait that long (you probably know it would take quite a while). Before I left I saw something which actually made me feel right at home even though sober.

"It's like you're hypnotizzzed..." made a big impact on me. What had I been doing all evening except losing my precious mind? I felt the pictures wanted to tell me not everything was lost. I could just fly away from the troubles if I set my mind to it, what little I had left of it. I figured the only thing for me to do at this moment was to leave this hellhole while I still had a chance.

While I yearned to see more of Hadesheim I could not take it anymore. I had no friends there and to be honest I did not see many people at all in what I would call a wasteland of a once prosperous city. I went my way. A bit outside of Hadesheim I looked back only to see what was true beauty in decay.

I was gone... for now.

DISCLAIMER: Some portions of the Hadesheim visit are completely fictional. I surely hope that does not surprise anyone.
