Question: Is tiering up unl. armor usefull?

I had a couple of "stuck" tier items, gave em to someone else to use for 1 session.both had been stuck for months. when returned, I repaired and with in hours of use both items started moving again..

Phantom tier 4 with 4 tiers of defence (not durability!) enhancers would give you 30 points of impact protection. So certainly useful to tier it.

Opps, it wasn't a typo, it was the Defens(c)e rather than Durability.

Did not read the whole thread but this post made me wanna say this:

There is already something kinda similar to that, it increases the durability tho so it decays less each hit.

Reducing the actual protection would be weird and really see no point to it...

increasing the durability makes sense to me at least

Durability enhancer don't decrease protection for decreased decay?

I have some for my Vivo that's tiered and i seem to recall it decreasing heal, will have to check again when i am on caly next.

I've never used an armor enhancer, it's a real question thanks.

Durability enhancer don't decrease protection they just add durability. The same for heal devices, they still healing the same at the same rate only durability is increased !


btw I use them all the time on my gremlin (dura. enh.) and they last for long now. Also on my ur125's when they allow me...

OK, I'm not a player who spends a lot of time in-game, but 13 months!!!

To answer the original question - put very simply, yes, tiering is worth it - it's ok getting you CB26 (L) to tier 10 before it breaks, but then you've got to go find another one and start again. With a tiered UL piece, you never lose it.

My armor also stayed on tier 1.X for a long time with no movement (months), but after a week on Arkadia I had nearly all pieces up to tier 2... the Arkadian mobs hit alot more often then caly mobs who seem to miss alot. This means more armor decay but I personally think this translates back into loot, so all good.

My UL armors are ghost and gremlin..........IMHO it's silly to tier them up .. coz the % gain is so little..

On the otherhand, I put durability enhancer on any slot open in my rutuba, lich, hermes or spartacus... and if needed i might add defense enhancer on them too!

When I tiered up my gremlin I bought 70 dura. enhacers, putted 10 on them in each gremlin part. Since then traveled to CP for like 3 times and hunting a bit on calypso also, must have cycled 25/35k ped while using gremlin and I still have enhacers on, like 5/6 units per part but still. Wonder how much ped have I saved?


Of course the higher protection the armor have the more it worth to tier. But that does not exclude the fact that the armor you use 80% of the time, the called middle level armor, could not have durability enhacers. Now if you ask the same for a pixie/gnome/goblin armor then you are right. (my gnome is T1 but never used any enhacer on it)

For the big picture no, it really is not.
Why do I say that? Its simple, EU made tiering up some armor way too expensive. Teiring up any of the top armors including chronicle / supremacy / sent simply costs to much. And in my opinion its hard enough to fork over the cash for these armors / even use them as it is. let alone having to dread the day you have to fork over more to tier it up.

But here is my simple answer..
If you went to a casino and asked a guy why he decided to spend more money, he would tell you because he has the money to spend.
Thats all it comes down to. Do you think some ubers really need the extra protection on their armor? nah its just cool as hell to teir it and because simply (they can)

It comes down to $$$$ its the universe we live in. Real world and EU, EU just decided to take advantage of it is all

Late to the discussion, but there's a mistake in the poll choices.

Choice 2 discounts the fact that tiering adds value to the item and is not a waste of money if you are tiering it to sell, and thus won't lose money.

I must say I also tier the armor pieces if they reach .9 just because tiering jaguar isn't very expensive.
But I never put enhancers on it, it's more like an 'achievement' thing for me than some actually usefull.

sure its usefull on UL armor. like to tier my chron / vain parts . its awesome to tier the chronicle . 60 70 increases to 63 &73,5 @ t 1 t 2 = 66 & 77.that l make a good difrence but i m not a fan of defense increase. i like more to increase the durability . these big armors eat peds like a producing mashine XD
p.s. i tier my t - bird too with 50 electricity . on t 2 with defense enh its @ 55 protect against electricity . i still dream of t 10 t bird XD thats like 75 defense against.
also bring back the big cersumons when i m finished with t bird tiering

Tiered my Vain to T1 and never use enhancers on it.
Its ready to tier it on T2 but is too expensive to do it just to get few skills.
Maybe i do it one day ..
