Hoped that I'll finally hit something nicer but I still had to wait for next hofs to come. Last runs on my favourite mining grounds were rather poor, so I decided to try out area where I found my first mining uber - terrain S and SE from Nate Valley. This area was really cool when quantium had good mu - now quant is neither rare nor expensive, so it definitelly became a crap-ore.

Anyway - I came back to the places I used to mine 1-2 years ago and it wasnt so bad, but instead of narc (I was counting on it - my first mining uber was 1.4k ped narc ;)) I mostly was finding low mu shit like zinc.

Despite pretty nice hit rate (27%) the average mu and lack of hof lead me to 81% return. At the end of this run I was a bit pissed - as a dedicated miner I love hofs and they're one of the things that keep me going, so if I am to loose 20%, I'd rather have shitty hr and hit a hof than have good hr and get no hofs...

Losses, losses and once again losses... Wherever I decided to mine I couldnt find anything that would turn my results to green... My returns were not terrible (when I thought they were, I started to think about my cnd runs and current returns seemed geat compared to those ;)), but I bet every miner known very well the no-swirling mood... Well, I was definitelly in that mood and wanted to do everything to see my nick written with light blue letters on global chat again. I tried good old spots in Shinook, but recently this place seems cursed... Last amp was very decent, but that still wasnt enough so I finished with loss again...

This run would have been much longer if I havent chatted with a few friends at the same time. Taking them as an example I decided to finish this run and try something different, something that gave much better chances for hof... And thats how my short ma109-adventure begun - more info in next posts :cool:

As I mentioned in my last post I missed hofs, so I decided to try out ma109s. And it definitelly worked!!! Found my 5th mining uber, which is my biggest claim as well :cool: I'm damn happy about the run, but... I shouldnt forget that I made some mistakes that are worth pointing out...

Originally I bought 3 ma109s and wanted to finish run afterwards. With those 3 amps I found all swirles - rest 4 amps only caused loss. So it was my big mistake and overreaction to buy more of those big amps - usually after big hof I have a "silent period", so I should have just taken a break or continue with small amps. Well, I cant say that I regret continuing with ma109 this run, but who would if he had 2.3k profit anyway? The problem is that I've let emotions take control over my reason, which lead me to massive losses in the next run... It should be stated clearly - BIG AMPS ARE FOR BIG GUYS and I'm definitelly not one of them. I had a lucky hit and thats all - I should have stopped at that point, cause the 5k ped I had on my card was almost nothing for normal mining with ma109s. I enjoyed experience mining with those amps, but poor guys like myself should try them just once in a while (when they feel lucky) and stick to 3 amps at once. I'll try to take this as a lesson and dont make this mistake in the future.

It's been a while since I made this run, so when I look at it now I must admit that I expected the global-rate on ma109 to be a bit higher - buning 1 amp cost around 460 ped, so at least 1 global per amp would be cool to get. Stay tuned - later today I'll post my next ma109 run (13 amps this time) and you'll be able to laugh at my stupidity :laugh:

Easy come, easy go ;) After previous run I felt so great that I thought that everything's possible - if I already found one uber with ma109, the next ones seemed so probable that I just couldnt resist. And the final result speaks for itself - ubers dont drop that easy and even mining good mu stuff with amps like ma109 it's hard to profit in the end. I hope every low budget miner will take this run as an example HOW MAN SHOULDN'T MINE... If you buy big amps just to test you luck in 1 run and you're lucky enough to get nice profit - just say : "thank you MA" and return to your usuall style of playing...

So, despite decent hit rate the swirling rate was too low to finish this run in green again. In fact I'd need an uber again to break even... Anyway, I gained some skills, I had some fun and (at least I hope) I was tought a lesson - it was a bit harsh, so better chance that I'll remember it for long ;)

It's because I had a lot of work irl from the middle of June to the middle of July - when I had a little bit time to play I prefered to spend it on mining than on writting posts on EF (yes, it takes some time). So atm I'm updating the runs made some time ago - run 60. was made about 2 weeks ago. Currently I finished run 76, but no point to post new runs when old arent posted yet ;) So this way I'm trying to do both - mine ingame and keep the log going ;)

This run was "mixed" with the previous ma109 run. Amps 1-7 I've dropped before going for enmats and amps 8-12 after I've finished run 60.

Nothing interesting happened during this run - it was rather boring. Just 3 sucky globals and a loss at the end. Loss is not that big for 12 amps, but I'd rater see the green numbers at the end, so of course I'm a bit disappointed ;)

Sucky run again. this time I started mining TI, but return was getting worse and worse, so I decided to switch and visit Shinook. Not much changed in new location - hit rate still sucked, but at least I managed to find a decent global. Without it this would be a terrible run - with it the run is just bad.

After the 2.5k lyta hof my mining began to suck despite I dropped some decent ammount of bombs and probes. Well, I'm not expecting another uber soon, but a run with decent return would be much appreciated ;)

I decided to go for enmats again, but this time with smaller amp - ma107. Mu on it is almost the same as on ma109, but decay is just 5 ped, so I could afford more probes and each of them could find a crystal tower ;)

And I cant hide my disappointment... Hit rate was just awesome!!! Over 42% and that doesnt happen too often! But with such a great hr I still got screwed and had 75% return... Found just 2 globals (second one was on third rebomb :cool:), and they both were on low mu stuff, so this run was a failure... I'm also not happy with the fact that it's 4th very bad run in a row - thought that this time I just must find something nice but I didnt...

After losses on enmats I switched back to good old oa104 - and lost again :laugh: This time return was a bit better and hit rate was also very decent, but majority of my claims were size V-VI - on oa104 those claims give 100-150% return, so they're definitelly not welcome ;)

5th red run in a row, but at least I found a small hof to chear me up :cool: I just keep telling myself: "Be patient Kub, be patient... You cant loose forever, so soon your luck must turn better". And I am patient - as long as I'll have peds on my card I wont stop bombing :cool:

And once again I tried my luck on emats... Almost all crystal was bought out from aution so I expected that there'll be a bigger hit on it or at least a better hr. And I cant complain on crystal claims this run - found 1 global and also other crystal claims, but with overall poor hr it wasnt enough to give profit. I can only say that I'm really glad that crystal was dropping so nice this run, compared to other stuff - if I was finding oil or melch instead of crystal, then it'd be really bad run...

On the other hand - can't be happy as well, cause it's my 6th red run in a row... What can I do? Just keep on bombing :cool:

7 must be my lucky number - finally I had a run I really enjoyed. 7 swirles with 10 amps this run - if only the global rate was normally that good ;)

I tried several locations and tpd quite a few times but usually I was landing in very nice places - especially great were amps 7-9. On 8th amp I found biggest ore "vein" so far in this log - 6 consecutive rebombs were successfull, so that makes 7 claims close to each other (I'll just remind that after finding claim I run to the marker and drop another bomb next to it).

I wonder how many poor runs after such a good one awaits me now? ;)
