Suggestion: Loot 3.0 ideas

Status
Arm since you modified your game style apart past scars, did your return look somehting about 95% these days?
or still a bloodbath?
i hope that you now can enjoy some digging for a reasonable money
btw i crafted light amps 2 and they are 104%
"industrialcost" to craft a Damp is 162.40 ped to me and it sells for 168
markup for those sizes of amp is not too high, i see more as a "low mining return" problem due to waves but maybe i am biased
hunting variance is lower probably

Right, I have cleared out most of the many rule violations in this thread now, I believe.

I will leave the thread unlocked for now, to allow further dialogue, but if things get too unruly or rulebreaking again, it will be closed permanently.

TT-return is not.
But it is irrelevant if the platform/game allows you to go over 100% relatively easy after MU (and no, you don't need a lot of money, not 5 mining bots). If you fail to see this, you just fail....

"UL L8 free amp if you loose 100k"

You don't read well.
Numerous times I said: proportionate to loss.
L7 would be for about 100k
L8 would be for more
I did read, not that it matters... even if it's L1 light for 1 mil ped loss, even if it's Opalo, it's still both silly idea with 0 reasonable arguments and also not ever gonna happen.
If people would get unlimited amps... what would they do with the resources, since the resources would most turn into TT, since every miner would be able to get one... ? Or you may have no idea how easy it is to loose 100k in TT, especially in mining.
It would be one of the best shortcuts to completely fucking up the game's economy.
It is also not a new idea, many people misinterpreting the game mechanics came up with this amazing idea of the game giving them freebies it's probably the first time when someone asks for like 100k worth of freebie - proportionate :))
Oh I have accumulated over 300k tt loss since I keep accurate tracking of my hunting... should the game owe me something of that value? - I should mention that I made MU several times that tt loss, still, it's a loss, even if the % is awesome.

The fun in the game being proportionate is a perspective thing and again, that is up to you to decide if its worth or not. There's that meme, a guy goes to the doctor and says: "Hey, doc, it hurts when I do this." & doc replies: "THEN DON'T FUCKING DO IT!".
To sum up some of the whining here:

You want to grab the first stick on the ground, should be cheap, poke whatever you want and money should come out of it, no matter what. And you want it no and well documented also.
Dafuq is wrong with people??

Some of the arguments have been removed from the thread by moderator. Anyway...

You don't read well, you don't understand that giving people who pay in and lose 10k usd an un-tradable item is not a freebie, it is giving back a part of what they have invested in, and this is a game, there should be some intelligent tuning to make it fun and less tedious. This is not advertised as gambling or as a job. And above all, we were not informed well such that we could make informed decisions. When you do not understand well you cannot reply logically to the points put forward and you keep explaining how the present game works, indirectly keep justifying the misinformation and keep using words such as freebie without logic.

With this line of logic, you would probably be against the "auto crosshair" idea in games too, as players should aim precisely in that logic (misinformation aside).

THIS IS A GAME (advertised so).

There are few people here only justifying status quo without contributing to what can be done. The thread is about improvements not justifications of status quo without a sound logic.

There are many suggestions but we can start with three, MA:

1. Please post a note on Auctions panel saying what the abbreviation MU means and that it is gone when paid not returning in loot etc.
Misinforming about that brings serious costs and for those unlucky enough to be in profit after some long time despite paying much MU, they do not doubt otherwise and lose more all in all. Decisions are based on information. Informing the clients and those who invest and pay in "well" is a legal responsibility.

2. When people pay in and play and lose money it makes sense to give them non-tradable items to fulfill the "invest in your avatar" promise at the point of payment (it is far from a freebie, they have paid much more as it is un-tradable, and this is not advertised as gambling). The fun and skills gained are not proportionate to losses for many players and non-tradable items are lightweight on MA while they make the GAME intelligent and the game clients much more happy (this is not advertised as gambling, nor a job).

3. Those who pay in over 1k USD should get gaming dashboards helping them to play eco in a fun and quite easier way. This is a game not a tedious job.

If you need to reply please read well, please understand the logic and please reply logically to that logic without being trapped in the status quo. And please provide suggestions.

One logical reply would be on how much a specific untradable item really costs MA/others and how it brings ease of playing, happiness and positive/negative systemic effects and what untradable items with "what face-value percentage compared to loss" are good to be given in loot (being un-tradable may mean a 100k-worth tradable item may be worth 1k to 90k in un-tradable form depending on the item). Tweaking this will result in a solution, not justifications and blaming the loyal game clients.

if you want fun just go click ep4

tbh man it just sounds like you're not enjoying the game anymore and as a result you feel bad about the money you've spent to play. when you're having fun you're happy to pay for it, but you'll always revert back to your mean state of happines and get bored eventually.

there are no participation medals or pay-to-win mechanisms EU (i.e. spend 500k and get a lp100 mod UL for free or something). spending money doesn't guarantee you anything, just like the real world.

EU is advertised as a RCE virtual universe, not a game even though it is categorically a "game." -- just like real life you can spend your money on things with no return on their investment (lotteries, casinos, expensive food, etc...) or you can spend your money on things that yeild a return over time (home, investment properties and instruments, education for a profitable job, etc....)

you don't get to "win" or even "get your money back" just because you showed up. You can't buy a house and then ask the bank for the cash back while you keep the house. doesn't work like that.

I perfectly understand, we just a different understanding of what a freebie is ; to me a freebie is "a thing that is provided or given free of charge". You depositing and playing the game is not purchasing this, let's say UL L5, untradable amp. You don't understand the game because you keep saying that those who loose (I assume it's TT you're talking about because you say you understand that MU spent is not taken into account by MA) but the truth is everyone looses in TT on long term and what you suggest is to give everyone something in return, a freebie. Because people did not buy this L5 amp, they bought ammo, probes, spent decay etc...

I'm gonna say it again, this is a competition game. Your strategy is to beg for freebies. I hope it turns well for you but I highly doubt. If it's too tedious, definitely not for you.

Quick note, I replied to original post but in the meantime you edit 10 times and add walls of text.

It is perfectly fine to wish and suggest absolutely anything you think it would make your game time nicer. But let's be clear what an UL amp (untradable) would be for someone who lost an amount of PED in TT - it would be a freebie. And it would GREATLY mess up the economy. To verify this it's enough to check the amp sales for a month for each amp level. Insane amount of TT of these amps are sold. Heavy grinding miners use L amps and they all loose a ton in TT (but some make up back in MU + profit) so what you suggest would imply that all these active miners be given UL amps. This would crash the resource market, metal residue price, would mess up L BPs and more and you think it's harmless.... and there are only a handful of UL amps just because they are so disruptive to the market. As more UL weapons would be, given out liek that. People fight hard, skill loads and invest in equipment for Mayhem events to hope to win such a weapon in several events.

But could you suggest giving out toys, flowers and fireworks, not items that would kill the game immediately?

Mindark has probably hundreds and thousands of things to improve but giving out freebies to people that want to win (be it fun for free) without any effort, is not one of them for sure!

I mean lost MU (all in all, balance) before MA clarifies it on auctions panel. There can be a formula which works.
I mean tt compared to the average return advertisement, if it takes long time.
(there will be details and tweaks about the above)

This is clearly not freebie as it is returning part of what you have paid. We are talking a future system not the present one.

We are not begging here (we are those who have paid), we are trying to help with game improvement and make it a pleasant virtual world. If I want to earn money I work and I don't play, if I want the 20k back I can start the legal process (due to misinformation). I am after improvements here.

You have extreme accusations such as "no effort" etc. here. We all know these are not right my friend. Even the misinformed fun-seeking generous people have efforts and calculations. You seem too much interested in justifying existing things.

Getting back to the main thing:

I mean lost MU (all in all, balance) before MA clarifies it on auctions panel. There can be a formula which works.
I mean tt compared to the average return advertisement, if it takes long time.

(there will be systemic analysis and details and tweaks about the above, and yes it can be castles or teleport chip or LA or weapons or mining gear or ... . Many of these do not affect the ecosystem much if carefully chosen and proportionately given.)

Perception of fair play and fair game, including informing properly from the beginning, can bring many new clients. Everyone can win.

Me loosing 300k ped in hunting, in TT, with decay and ammo, getting back from the game a LA, a castle, a mining amp, a weapon, it would be clearly a freebie since it would NOT be part of what I paid for. I payed for ammo, to kill mobs to get MU from them, I did not pay for LAs. People struggle to buy and sell LAs and you want them handed out for TT loss. And that seems perfectly logical for you. Anything else to go with that LA and UL Lvl 8 amp? A planet maybe? An IRL lambo?

With the suing MA for misinformation part you seem like one of these people:

Good luck getting what you deserve.

You are not being logical. This is not advertised as gambling. The payment and service should be proportionately reasonable. And:

When you are not informed well, it is not a freebie.

When it becomes part of the system to balance things intelligently and keep clients happy, it is for a new reason not a freebie, it is part of what we have paid.

MA and some players should not feed from misinformation. If this is fixed, more new players will come and more remain.

I have had legal projects before, MA cannot escape not informing players from the beginning, and not in repeated times, regarding MU.

Are you MA employees? You are not interested in the main theme of ways of improvement here and you follow specific lines of discussion only in specific ways. Generous intelligent gamers who are successful in many ways in their life and seek some fair fun and pay well but are misinformed are not like what you showed in the video. Far from that.

My new gaming: I know about MU etc. (of course not everything), and I saw a high MU item under-crafted and I could make a profit, I do fun experiments knowing the cost/gain, I can make some profit from trade, when I know about MU I only pay for amp when I am ready to part with MU, also weapons etc. I have bought changed and had an effect, ... . I was not informed (and was unlucky or etc. when I profitted in about the first two years, while paying MU thinking it would be back and it was back!!). All in all, MA and some people benefitted 20k usd from all this and giving back part of that is our generosity to leave it there, not a freebie (we are many, and we were/are misinformed, and non-tradable items can be lightweight on MA/economy after tweaking).

Going back to the main course:

What is your list of suggested changes?

Invest in Your Profession

Are You Ready For a Real Challenge?

It is perhaps not an investment in the traditional sense, as it will take a lot of hard work and dedication on your part. It is however possible to make money by engaging in a traditional MMO profession on Calypso, such as hunting, mining, trading or crafting. To succeed, you must not only be skilled at your profession – you must also be a shrewd business person.

Since EU never had any real MMO attraction, like beeing interesting quest/story wise, or had cool combat etc, EU instead should have more "excel" in it.

Why don't we still have proper loot log? It can't be a nuclear science to those working at MA, or is it?

Why don't we have "lifetime" stats - a page, in-game or on website, you can even put a "request stats" button so it's generated for you to not !!!! servers with live stats. These stats should represent total deposits, withrawals, skill points, skillpoint gaining history, loot log, return %, return % changes, daily/montly etc etc.

All the stats that are important in such a game that has real money involved all the time, has even game money tied to FIAT through it's history.

Currently EU is kept alive on casino addicts sitting at slot machine, there is no depth in it at all. If you compare EU with other one or another type of MMOs, it looks like a god damn joke. It's unprofessional, amateurish....

"Be aware that your investment can drop in value (like any other investment you can make on this planet)".
Please specify what planet are you referring to, is it Calypso, is it Earth otherwise some people might think your information is misleading!

Please specify what planet are you referring to, is it Calypso, is it Earth otherwise some people might think your information is misleading!
sorry, my bad.
I meant planet Earth.

You know, it's this REAL LIFE planet some of you hardly ever see :p :ROFLMAO:

Dude, seriously? You keep on going?

Just wondering, what if MA posted a disclaimer to the investment part: "Be aware that your investment can drop in value (like any other investment you can make on this planet)".
Would that help?

Btw, it's simple proven FACT that you can invest AND prosper in Entropia. So nothing about that was a lie.
And even I, as uber noob without uber FEN shit, who according to most ubers here only sweat (which I have never done but who cares), prospered with my investments.
And that even with my extreem uber shit loot returns.

So it's dumb folks like me who prove you are so wrong!
Seriously? You can refer to what has been said and think about it and follow a logic. A sample of what has been said:

Things such as explaining MU mechanics in a sentence (that it is lost) on Auctions panel are no brainer.

The standards of necessity of informing clients are high in Europe (generic T&C does not help with disposing of the responsibility).

Rather than keeping repeating mix of relevant and non-relevant things, the good part of which has been answered in previous posts, you can come up with some suggestions and improvement ideas.

@Ludvig|MindArk Please just lock this thread already, my brain cells are getting upset with me.

Arm, you don’t understand anything about what you are suggesting, to make the assertion that other experienced players are idiots and aren’t listening to you is insanely ironic.

When you do receive your free UL amp given as a participation Trophy for coming last, what do you think will happen to the economy? Will people gladly keep on crafting L amps and stock them in their shops for fun? Will owners of current UL amps who have lost many thousands on market value also now be compensated with something that will cause a crash in another sector?
Once the economy is destroyed, you will now be complaining that your loot has no markup and you will have to TT everything. Great, now everyone loses... No wait, once we lose more PED we can qualify for the second tier of free awesome stuff, and have even less reason to keep playing thereafter. Great.

Katie, you really did not get what I said and clearly you are angry and not reading well, for example I did not say or imply "experienced players are idiots". etc. etc. . Anyway.

If you want to politely discuss how the non-tradable items idea can be tweaked we can do that. And no it does not affect the ecosystem considerably when tweaked and not everybody gets pricy things unless they have paid considerably more than the value. And not everything is amp 7. And it brings new players and keep players in. etc. etc. Please try to have some tweaking analysis and innovation in understanding and nurturing new ideas.

Moving forward:

" explaining MU mechanics in a sentence (that it is lost) on Auctions panel"

Let's elaborate a bit on one of the suggestions, the above one:

It can say somewhere on the Auctions panel graphics after you click on the man/woman: "The Mark UP (MU) which is the difference of what you pay in auctions and the Trade Terminal (TT) value of the item, is given to the selling player without being returned in any form in hunting/mining/crafting"

It can be added if it is the case: "but may have minor effects" (and the sentence can be improved or shortened)

This would change my gameplay long ago (and many others, although they were not in profit after about two years of paying MU on amp etc!). And this would help with fairness and attracting new players.

No you didn't directly say it, but your wording comes across quite condescending as some experienced players try and help you understand the flaw in your arguments. But, whatevs, its been a bit of a two way street here. Just blame it on the atmosphere as a whole. This has been a very negative experience for all. Agree, lets move on.

Lets make it clear that I am all for non-tradeable items, as somebody that is currently gathering mats to complete their modified viceroy set, I whole heartedly support these type of items. BUT, what you are suggesting is vastly different. Stuff like mod viceroy requires a large amount of materials to be removed from the game, materials that have pretty high markup, and whose TT value is not fully compensated in the extra TT value of the received armor. It is a material sink, out of the game. Current costs to get Mod Viceroy are about 8kped including markup, maybe more, depends how you value stuff. Why this armor works, is because in addition to losing my 5,10 whatever % from my cycled PEDs, I also have to give up the materials I gather. This loss can never be recouped, the best I can do is decay out the TT value at the end of my career.
Understandably so, this upgrade chain is not for everybody, only people that see the inherent value of the armor will want to destroy 8kped from their net worth. This armor isn't a game killer, many people choose to buy other mid level armors instead because they want to be able to recoup their investment.
But lots of people do the mission, and the existence of this chain CREATES MARKUP. Ever wonder why orange paint is so expensive compared to other colours? This mission needs tonnes of it.

Now lets compare this to your idea, lets assume that Mod viceroy was rewarded to you after your avatar incurred 8kped of collective TT lossses. Now you have no in demand materials, less markup.
Because everybody just ends up with it anyway after a set amount of cycle losses, then nobody would invest in ghost/jaguar or similar mid lvl armors because why pay for something when you can get a free version just buy holding out a bit?

Lets now think about it from the other way, Seeing as Mindark must pay an item after you lose a certain ammount, does that also mean that you must donate to Mindark some of your shit if you happen to HOF big? You can't have it both ways.

Moving forward:

Makes as much sense as me putting a "Not for internal use" warning label on my toaster just incase somebody accidentally ingests it.
We don't need to dumb down this game.

The free bonuses you're talking about... these are the skills. The more you lose, the more skills you gain in one hour (mining and crating are the exception). That's why in the previous comment I told you that the game gives 100% + always, something you didn't pay attention to.

The whole game is an ATM exchange. If you lose a lot, then down or vice versa if you win very easily. Find the ballance for your pocket.

Set your personal budget for 3 months. If you play every day, divide it into 90 days. If the value is 1000 ped, then buy boxes for $100, this will increase the daily budget above these 1000 pads and if you are lucky it may one day become 20-50,000k.

The mark-up from the boxes + the mark-up from the hunt are almost a guaranteed profit... if you do not exceed your possibilities at this moment. Then our free bonus prizes the skills, we can keep them as a trophy or sell it to someone else for extra profit.

Informing people of the lost MU somewhere quite visible such as auctions panel is not informing of obvious matter (it is obvious for us here) and when they don't know and spend let's say 8 000 us dollars on amp markup, it is not strange that they get a free non-tradable amp (worth 40k if bought and worth less when cannot be traded) as they have bought MUCH amp markup already.
That's what mentors have done in this game and the community; community made tutorials and wikipedia page where hundreds of people contributed.
It is obvious you had a trash mentor, or, you ignored him also like you ignore pretty much everything people say in this thread.
Telling you it works, by many people here, comes to prove you wrong when you say it doesn't work. You will not get crystal clear specifics, nor from MA and not on forums, because again, this is a competition for resources. Make freinds, get a mentor, socialize, get into a soc for newbies and learn the game first - I doubt it would ever happen, you seem to have some logical flaws and you claim MA should teach you how to make money vs other players.
Maybe what MA should be doing would be to make a test for people that want to deposit over 10k$ to prove they understand the game first. many would fail but slowly they will learn and the game would benefit more from people who understand basics of the game and also of economy..

MU being lost is what a disciple should learn day 1. MA will not and cannot teach you this. Try to wrap your head around this.
MA can do a gazillion things to improve the mentoring system. Mentors should take tests and disciples should not be able to progress, use some items, go certain places, until they finished training with a mentor also while the mentors should be rewarded for their disciples passing certain tests and mentors who make alts to get disciples should be perma banned. There are many things MA should do to expand this properly, me and many others have said these things for many years. Bad mentors, like the one you had, clueless about the game, will only make other people frustrated, like yourself, with little understanding about the mechanics of the game that will quit, or make ridiculous claims about the game and propose impossible things like "a free non-tradable amp" (AND THIS IS FREE BUT NOT A FREEBIE!!!!! GET IT ???).....

Dude, understand that this 40k freebie, prolly a lvl5 amp, given to those who lost in TT, would GREATLY fuck up the entire economy. EVERYONE looses in TT. Lots of PEDs. But not all fuck around with MU like you have. So everyone should get a LVL 5 UL amp? I mean it's very nice, but it would really mess up EVERYTHING. Because people would stop needing amps

Cmmon MA, improve mentoring so it will increase retention and decrease this whining....

Expectation for years of playing: 95% TT-return with low 5-digit profit after MUs (calculated profit, skill/BP value not even taken into account yet)
Reality for years of playing: not even 90% TT-return and low 4-digit loss after MUs.

Playing for years and then being off worse than at the beginning.
Nice progression system MA has there /sarcasm.

I did think a lot about a good idea

And the best idea i had in my head after considering everything that culd Go Bad and wrong i came to this :

Mindark please sell the game to a Company that actualy knows what theyr doing

No hate ,i dont want to diss anyone
But the developing of the game went from Bad to Super Bad

2.0 is a joke but you guys did sell it as the holy grale
R

Rather then fixing bugs, economical stuff, droprates, abandonedand projectsor anything else that is Importent
You guys open New wounds where ever and when ever you can

So there are only two logical aspekts why you do this

1. The ceo is a very very greedy man who does not care

2. The remaining of the developing Team totaly lost controll and have no idea how to fix it

My two pecs

I rly hope loot 3.0 improves the game,

Because the New unreal engine will only make a Bad game to a Bad game with better graphics

I also think that the refund system does not work. I made a deposit (donat) of more than $ 20,000, my maximum hof is $ 4000, is this fair? There is no general return, my skills are growing, experience is also growing, and there is simply no return.I have not once dropped a valuable item.My weapon efficiency is 75% My profession is a luthor 40.Not so much compared to ubers but we are also people we should get our refund from the amount of deposit and time in the game,I've been playing for 4 years for 12 hours a day, I don't see any return at all, even the interest disappears,And the number of mobs killed is huge I'm not a turtle who lives 500 years to wait for a return in the next century

The whole economy revolves around a hundred 2.0 weapons and is balanced at 100 levels per looter. And in fact these are the people who have good reviews here, everyone else is wondering where his pecs are.
