It's a bit fiddly lining up the first row. After that it gets easier with practice :)

Perhaps horizontal coords can be locked out but not the vertical ones. Since many apartments share the same coords it may be the reason why its not possible.

Land areas extend only to certain heights/depths (if you go swimming in an LA you will notcie where the limit is). the z coordinate overlaps for apartments anyway...so i don't think this is the reason. Nope. can't think of a single reason other than 'you do not own the balcony;. Isn't that seomething like reallife though ? anyone live in an apartment where they technically don't own the balcony (i know here, you definitiely don't own the verge, and don't own water that is 'on' your property, and yuor claim limit is 50 feet or something, so the govenrmwnet can lay telephone cable or water pipe or subway or whatever as long as it';s deep enough)

Well, it was last time I looked.

Unfortunately my GC reader has decided not to play (again) so I won't be able to check until MA replace it or it starts working again like it did last time. So I'll update this when I'm next able to :(
 
My friend kindly brought his GC and reader round and we tested - his reader worked with both cards, mine with neither. So it's the reader :/

But anyway, still there earlier today :)

i defo think the balcony should be added too the apartment section and the apart items should be increase as we do pay for the space.

There is no easy way to do that from a programming point of view. The other problem you would run into is that every time you tp'd into someplace like Omegatron West, all the items on all the balconies would be rendered. Imagine the lag!
