No good/safe things left to buy in Entropia?

Thats the problem of the "most" people who "invest" into items.

Just spend big amounts if you know what you do ,"know what you do" means : ahh i need this and that item to make this and that , never expect that you gona profit or Park your money in a item...
The value comes from the oportunity you see with the item

I beleave that it is a good thing right now that prices go down , we will see more players joining EU because of the fact that you can get a armor and a weapon to start out for "low costs"

Still Premium stuff like mod nano or unity series got a high Premium price

Release Videos on YT in order to increase the player base, go ahead and Support content creators, there are many who do tutorials but noone shares that to "noobs" share theyr Videos, sugguest the game to people you know, develop your own idea on how to fix your "business"

I remember i once bought a overpriced "infiltrator" set from your Shop, i didnt buy it because i loved the price... i bought it because you where the only person offering a whole set and that day i felt like doing some pvp, how do you expect people know what item to use if people never get to that Information.

This being said i beleave the game took the right direction, keep in mind you are part of this community and you influenced me doing a Video about a armor in entropia.

Keep it up :)

Yeah Infiltrator is very very hard to craft/stock, hence the price. I literally have to collect ingredients for ~6 months to craft 1 set of it.

Awesome video!

at this point i think they just need to decide if they want UL or L gear and then build the economy around that paradigm. having both creates a tiered system of haves and have-nots and a crafter economy that is not running on all cylinders

if it goes all UL, then open up additional slots of attachments for UL items and diversify the crafting for those new items. If it goes all L, then people will actually make guns and armor and the components that go into them

right now you kind of have the worst of both worlds where most people are being pushed towards acquiring terribly expensive UL gear or having to use L gear that doesn't have its enhancer slots unlocked. it's kind of a mess

I think in game design at this scale, some things have to look like a mess so that people take different pathways, so I disagree with:

Put another way, some things on offer have to be better than average, and some worse, but not necessarily for everybody at the same time. I think there should be a "knife edge", or "sweet spot" that the best players can identify for themselves (that may change over time too).
That is indeed a generalisation, but I guess it is part of my paradigm here. :) Good to discuss such stuff though ...

the current system isn't terrible. i just consider it less than optimal. but then again, EU is a unique game, and it's possible my conventional game theories don't apply.

speaking of scale, i do wonder how they are going to handle scale when UE5 launches. with even a 20-30% increase in players they would really crowd the existing known spawns especially for any non-instanced missions. if they saw a 50-100%+ increase in players, it would become practically unplayable in some zones...especially on some of the smaller planets. they might want to think about how they'd address that issue

Economy is great!

We have a new AI President to take any constructive criticism too!

I've NOT withdrawn 90% of my accounts value!

I still Stream EVERY SINGLE DAY and have not taken an almost 2 month break!

I know the OP is about buying in terms of good stuff to use at a good price, I think it extends all the way to just simple loot too.

Yes, scale, which I also see as very related to my age-old bugbear of balancing. I assume spawns can be quickly changed, though, and there is lots of space even not instanced (of which there can be any desired amount).
But you also mention other planets. Here it is very much the other way round. There are mobs and mobs and mobs, with hardly an avatar in sight. Also, if anyone even enters the same loot wave as you, then the better loot is halved there and then, turning something that is just about ok for 10 mins per hour, or whatever, into meh! At some point there is just one person doing that mob again for 'just about ok'. Often that slightly better loot refuses to sell at the 'ok' rate on auction, and it's also aargggh... That's just with ONE or TWO players, for effs sake!
We need incentives to buy the stuff people loot (or craft)! I'd craft more if it was worthwhile, as I'm finally ok on the skill level mostly, but nope...

Low level gear its easy because it dosent cost a small fortune prices are prety stable unless you count those who try to convince that a vigi set is worth +2500 (more than nemesis) . Problem is with high level gear medkit /weapons armor shouldnt cost 2-5k usd even if you do buy those then it would be a lot harder to sell them because the amount of player shrunk over the years and people who are willing to spend that much cash mooved to other games. With the exception of few die hards who try to convince everything is fine because they like how the game is atm and how much they have invested into the game so any change would damage their wallet. But they are also stuck with lots of gear because they cant find new ppl progressing thru the game to buy those items. In this day and age spending 400-1000$ a month for a game is absurd. Expecially when you can play other games and have more fun for that kind of cash. Notice this even tho most of the games don't ofer cashback ppl still spend it on homes comsetics or currency so people are still spending them and its up to Mindark to figure out how. If they don't eventually their safe bubble will pop and ppl who sit on the top with the large investment will cry ( you are only eligable TT value refund if the game stops )

Saying this i know what people usually say there are ways you can stay afloat some people like DISI are experts at that and can find ways to have fun of their gametime and share there expirience with fellow players. However majority of players quit after certain amount of time - because the main activities of the game hunting /mining ( don't even start me on crafting ) will result in loss ( im also aware that ppl can stay afloat with mining with certain methods) . If mindark just make shure that ppl can hunt /mine all they wanted with making loot very rare so people can do those activities 24/7 and offer shortcut to those who wana pay to gain the skill requirements for certain endgame activities ppl will still spend money or time including on cosmetic items or virtual homes !

PLAYER TRUST! That's MA's most valuable resource. Trust takes very little to break, and takes a lot more to rebuild.
I'm one of those players who went all in one high eff gun. Paid 190k ped total for my bp-70 perf t9.
Yes I'm screwed, won't get the ped back. But I'm 98 looter now and made quite a bit of profit since i got it. Not enough to pay for the gun but still.
Yes I didn't think MA would screw so much with the weapons in the game so FAST. Otherwise I'd for sure not bought one at this price 1+ year ago.

But it's easy to say stuff like that in retrospect. At the time ppl were selling bc-80 aug at 250k, perf chip 250k etc.
So there really was no other choice at the time but to PAY a premium or wait. I chose to get it, and try my hands on getting a gun from vendor and selling it for 100k. I was very unlucky with rare tokens so I never had a chance to take a gun out and do that.

So yeah I got unlucky, but now I still got my gun so I'm good. And with weapons being cheaper I could even get another gun in the future for resist dmg mobs.

I just hope MA tries to respect some of player investments more in the future because losing player trust is not good for the whole game!
Im sorry to say, its the playerbase who set the prices. Mindark has only to worry about the TT of items. Its a free market and you got sucked into a hype. And thats not MA´s fault but those ybers who are hoarding weapons to sell for profits or big resellers.

Mindark has to move forward and investing always comes at a risk!
