Hey :)

I'm on the move so this 1st episode lacks proper intro, sorry about that.

But yea, first half an hour is more or less dedicated to miners in tundras of western Amethera. Soothing nordic sound, missing only your footsteps and your finders beeps. And ofc the trumpets of you hoffing!

The rest is built on new-ish records. Few picks I find interesting. Hope you too.

Don't forget to challenge yourselves as listeners and Lootius bless <3

Love the intro  , maybe the musical genre will warm up on me aswell, gonna give it a shot! Best of luck! ❤️

Perhaps those jazzy colors maybe not very familiar right now will eventually be your best friends! 🫡🙂

It will be interesting to explore, jazz is definitely a landscape I haven't ventured into at all...here's to new musical adventures! :beerchug:

Good evening fellow pretentious jazz snobs! :geek:

Also tonight's Port Jazzlantis is a two part listening bootcamp. First we tenderize (as in gently pounding the pork chop) our heads with light groovy tunes with some 70's exploitation movie colors, just to get it soft enough for part two; the interesting stuff <3

Hope you get inspired. :)

And again - don't forget to challenge yourselves as listeners and Lootius bless <3

Tonight's Port Jazzlantis is all about moldy vinyls, dust and scratches!

We honor heroes like Getz, Coltrane and Garland for boldly bringing new rhythm and bluesy colors onto old sing-alongs from musicals. The guys who systematically brought fourth (or - Lootius forbid - even fifth!) note to every chord.

Lootius bless!

Yes, "kyllä humppa huolet karkoittaa"!

However tonight's Port Jazzlantis is about afro-cuban tradition. As fellow finn Reino Ranger pretty well knows, finnish people have just one solid bone whereas people of Africa and South America seemingly have flexible spine and swinging hip!

Enjoy!

P.S.

Last day of vacation, having cold white wine on balcony, listening to Ornette Coleman. <3

Port Jazzlantis tonight is a quick dip to free jazz - not very challenging, yet full of unexpected musical events.

Not to be understood, but enjoyed. :)

Edit: IMO one of the coolest characters in TV history is Oscar Byrd from Legion. Living inside an ice cube listening to jazz. You might actually spot some music Oscar listens in tonight's PJ.

You guys are do awesome!!!

I am back at RZZR and I must say you guys are amazing on AHR!

1959 was without a doubt the best year in jazz history. Even if we were to add “so far” to the end of that statement, it still wouldn’t make sense, as the revolution to come will be grounded in the roots of 1959 anyway—or it will get a new name, other than “jazz.”

...says jazz blogger Paul Medrano and I'm certainly not going to disagree!

Tonight's Port Jazzlantis is about most memorable tunes of groundbreaking records of 1959.

Ultimate Grand Master musician Herbie Hancock turned 85 yesterday! 🥳

Port Jazzlantis celebrates his long career with diverse picks from his work - from lush jazzscapes to rubber boat funk with cheesy synths.

Track #2 is dedicated to sweaters 🥰

Who art thou to deny thyself anything!?

...therefore jazz. Gotta run! Enjoy!

Tonight's theme is "sitting in a car in a parking lot listening to jazz 4 times a day 30 mins before meeting because being afraid of being late (on top of the need for listening some music)". :)
