The average drop rate of blazar frag should be about 1 drop per 1 ped decay, but my cost to kill is above average I get fewer frags on average. Maybe around 90 Frags out of 100 peds spent?Possibly it's the attachments. Which is strange since attachments are supposed to increase eff. You mentioned in your thread that exas are about 21 pec average to kill. For me, each of my runs is about 68 peds. So that's about 320 kills each time I tally up.
I get about 70 frags average per 320 kills. So about every 5 kills, I get 1 frag. One good thing about the iron missions is that it was easy to count kills. What is your rate of frags? I am interested in if attachments will affect frag chance.
But then it's going to be a bit complicated for me to test it. Since I switch between melee and range. I use melee to save up shrapnels and switch to range once my ped card runs low to use up shrapnel.
After shrapnels are used up, I run to PA to auction off my stack of loots. Perhaps on my next cycle with range, I'll add attachments and see if there are any effects on frags drop rate.
Correct, though the extra decay helps with the cycle rate, it's not helped by the reduced DPP, higher EFF, which means fewer fragment drops overall. At first, I didn't believe this would be a disadvantage, but after seeing the data, it clearly shows a negative, with lower average markup being achieved longterm. Please read below to understand the positive side of this issue.I think it's not so much about attachments affecting fragment drops directly and more about the cost to kill. Attachments add decay, so kill cost goes up. Fragments are limited on the number, and you get 1-3 fragments per drop regardless of kill cost - so lower kill cost = more kills for same PED spent = more fragments.
Cost to kill was factoring Youngs and Matures, as I noticed people avoided Matures, had to average the cost to kill for both. Plus my DPP is about 2.6 lol, so that definitely does increase the cost to kill. Still, the point was using EFF to ensure higher TT returns because the markup may not have been enough to break even and achieving the mob deficit/ped loss threshold quicker to trigger multipliers needed to push my TT back up. It was a gamble on my part, but it is so predictable there was no reason not to do this, especially if my looter gets skills faster using attachments.Ah, if Mark takes 21 pecs to kill, it might have taken me less so my kill counts are probably more than 320 kills. I thought 21 pecs was a little high haha. I think my cost to kill is about 17 pec. Well, it takes about 11 ish shots with my pistol with an amp. About 1.5 pec ish ammo per shot but adding extra for decays, armour, misses, etc. I think 17 pec is a good estimate. Forgot how many swings with the TT sword with an amp. It's been a while since I used that setup. Used sword until run# 25, been pistol since. So closer to 400 kills per run.
Here is what I take away from this endeavour, nothing wrong with going full DPP, with enough kills, your TT return should be about the same if not higher than someone using a setup with a higher EFF. I am at 96.47% using max EFF 66.9% but 2.6 DPP (this % can go higher with turnover & skills), You can easily achieve 97-99% TT returns with the bonus of higher average markup. So to me, using high DPP setup and ECO hunting isn't dead by a long shot. The trade-off for lower DPP, higher EFF setups is you skill looter professions faster and is a cost you will have to endure in the short term until you reach lvl 30.
