Question: Reputation/Post

Hi Guys

I have been thinking lately about Reputation of EF members.

Reputation should be about Reputation not full of junk posts to get Reputation.

I found that many EF members posted a lot just to get to Senior Members.

There is no more of Quality of Reputation as it used to be.
There is no more of Quality of Senior Members as it used to be.

I think the one way to get back your Reputation is to have/show Reputation per Post.

That's where the Quality counts, Not Quantity.

So, what is your Reputation/Post?

I have earned myself a respectable 2.8 Rep/Post.

I admit I do frivolous posting a bit but many other times I have posts that are filled with information and have a wonderful quality to them. The rep from those posts keep me posting them, even if there is only one or none.

Don't try to look at rep that way.

A small number of people get +reps simply for posting. Others get it for posting in the right thread (e.g. the Community-threads).

In other words, if you really want to you can get a rather high rep/post-ratio without putting quality into them. Would that be an indication of anything? No.

I'm happy with my star and to be honest I don't need a second one...

EDIT: my ratio is 3.32 so I can't even participate in the poll

bet mine is rather low

although, i stopped to care

once there was a thread, which i wont go into, where my reply was pretty sharp against the suggestion made there

i got lots of +rep for that

also in some "vote EU at funny game site up" thread, i got more +reps for one post like "voted", than for my guide thread all together ^.-

actually most of my newbie help posts or other "useful" posts barely got +rep
so mine is fairly low

but if you are bashing people, post in the right threads (vote EU up at funny game site and that stuff) , or got the friends who rep you daily, you can get up fairly high

dunno if rep/post count sais much about the quality of the senior member

All those poll options and you forgot the range from 3 till 4 ??

About the rep/post, don't think it says much. Like Alice said, sometimes you can get masses rep for a single word while getting almost no rep for a well thought page of text.

Also the number doesn't say anything about the times you are repped. Member A got repped 1k times from low lvl reppers = 2k rep, member B got repped 1k times from high lvl reppers = 6k rep.

So they both got the same amount of reps but their rep points are so much different.

Like my Poll, it isn't perfect and so the current EF rules.

I created this thread in a hope to see less junk threads created by users who wish to get to Senior Members.

Which in the current EF rules, encourage users to do so.
