Something to keep in mind is that we all want more ppl in this game to share the loss and maximize the returns. What i do as buyer is to make sure that its the sweater i buy from and to pay well!

Sure i could get it for 1k/p but thats no more than stealing so my going rate is 2.5-5 per K depending on the skills and niceness of the sweater. If any of you big bois start crying about that price.....grow a pair you can take a loss of several 1000K peds you can afford to pay a bit more for the sweat.

I'm waiting for the person with the virtual computers to explain how the system works ... as soon as I find out, I'll write to you in the game.

But aside from the jokes, I use 1 portable tool per month. Even if the price of sweat was doubled, it wouldn't affect me. What affects me is the economic imbalance in the whole game... that's why there is a calculation of the annual profit from sweat, and not the goal of raising your level.

What has changed over the years?
The market price of sweat from over 10peds/k all the way down to 1-2peds.
The sweat per person per hour, now down to approx 600 per hour if active - no idea what a bot can manage.
Apparently, the ease of botting, or the ability of players to set up a bot.

My history: I started out as a sweater, then up to being a swunter. In hindsight I should have deposited and paid to skill up faster in order to get to mid/upper levels and better equipment back in loot 1.0. My growth was too slow, although it was for 'free' (time). Nowadays I don't think legit players will hang on for long on the sweat/swunt path. Maybe, just maybe, the availability of daily subsidies that were not around when I started can offset the decline in sweat prices, but only for players spending maybe below 2 hours a day in game.

I often complain about balance, so maybe I'm partly responsible for this being handed over to a dog (joke), but this out-of-balance universe is constantly close to being tipped over instead of seeing good growth.

My personal opinion is that if people playing initially for free can move to swunting and gain more general avatar skills, then they are more likely to stay beyond typical psychological downturns that see people suddenly leaving. So yes, I'm broadly in favour of some additional universe-wide sweat 'initiative' by MA, but not that downgrade other long-term missions.

How do you know its the sweater you buy from?

Sweaters is the real boot problem because they just take from the comunity without giving

The question is: why? There are already dozens of sweaters sweating all day, every day. Even though there isn't nearly the demand for that amount of sweat.

My point is that there is no reason for a reward, as rewards are an incentive. And incentives are only necessary if you need to increase the number of people doing something, which for sweating is nowhere near being the case.

I don't hate sweaters, but MA already has added sweat as a necessary ingredient for a lot of things. It used to be just for making mind essence.

And none of it had any impact on the sweat price, because the fact that sweat is a freely and infinitely available resource far outweighs the impact of any additional demand for it.

in a game where f2p or semi f2p is already difficult for those on a tight or near non existing budget at times lol, i do however think there should be more activities for f2p players to do so it isnt all focused on certain activities like sweating .. the other problem is unfortunately any if not all of the current f2p activities are somewhat overwhelmed probably not just by actual players but more by alts and botters and i believe its cos of these alts and botters that the sweat prices have plummeted so low to the point where its pretty much almost not worth the time and effort for an actual player to do it so just even more bots come along

for some reason some people these days cant seem to play games anymore, they get bots to do it for them and they cant seem to grasp the fact or read that it is supposed to be 1 account per person .. its even mentioned on the website and in the eula it says "You may only register one Account". it also says
"The user account is personal and may not be assigned to a third party". id imagine that third party would apply to any1 or anything other than u that is to be playing the game on ur avatar and thus should not be permitted.

i also noticed some mentioning virtual machines ... now to me, joking or other wise any1 wanting to learn how to use entropia on virtual machines clearly intends to play on more than 1 account and more than likely intends to bot on them, so i hope mind ark are watching and hope such people get caught and dealt with appropriately

maybe slightly off topic but i thought i would mention i was having great fun the other day in pvp, a friend and i killing each other but what ruined that fun was the increasing wait time when i died . something i believe was put in place because of botters exploiting for defense skills. did it stop or deter them? .. no ofc not lol they still do it and dont care about such things cos its not them actually playing all they do i think is adjust their timers on their bots n scripts or whatever to compensate while its us the players who feel like we are punished and missing out for dying too much and having to wait to get back into the action

im sure im not the only 1 who feels like this and sick of bots ruining the game and the economy . i know its a difficult issue to deal with but every effort should be made to try n make sure people cant use alts or bot .. i would imagine with most bots and alts gone the value of sweat should increase and the game more enjoyable, games are meant to be played and enjoyed with other players, not bots, if i wanted to play against computers only id play single player games not a mmo lol

Mindark does a very good job in banning Alts

They Banned a few and those who still runn around will get banned soon

What our economy realy needs is a fix in the lower and mid lvls

By adding demand to sweat
Like for example a token Trader for sweat where you trade in your sweat for a weapon

The reason behind this :

Rookie trades sweat for tokens to a npc
Rookie trades those tokens for a weapon
Rookie uses this weapon with amunition
Rookie gains more and more interest to upgrade
Rookie tends more likely to depo
Rookie finaly stays ingame
Overall economy benefits
Mu on sweat goes up
Rookie will tell his rl friends
They Download the game
Community grows

As example
Yall remember the good old days @neas?
We had swunting teams, partys, social stuff everything that made entropia to the special game it used to be was back in Times when we had a good economy

Sweat does have a big impact to the game

Atleast this is how i See our economy Problem nowdays

Peace:)

All reduces to only one point all in all
this game is about MU and TT
TT affect Mindark (and is capped)
MU affects player to player transactiona nd is driven by ecoinomy

Making sweat refinable into Uniammo (even if bound to char) = MA pay the bill
making sweat tradable to weapon. MA pay the bill
CDF token effectively cost you 1.5 ped each in decay

it will not happen. because impacts MA revenues.

MA is ok that ppl try the game for free..... BUT... wants other players pay for free to play people.
simple.... RCE...... the animal spirit

This is nonsense. I will just post my own quote from another thread as it still implies here.

Yeah, I have heard this idea over and over again. Now I have been playing for about 10 - 12 years nows. Sweat back when I started was about 2 ped per k or if you were lucky there was a buyer in the early days on RT who helped buying at 5 ped per k. Then we had players coming over from Caly to sell sweat and 100k of sweat. I remember going to caly and joining a sweat circle there. Loads of players had a stupid amount of sweat and they all said they holding on to it till the price goes up. Now 10 years later nearly every planet has bps for sweat and has implemented a use for sweat to spawn a massive shared mob. So even though MA and PP have introduced more ways to use up a sweat the price has dropped down to 1 ped per k.

Another thing that noob sweaters don't consider when coming up with new uses for sweat. Is that you really on players like Messi to deposit more money to buy sweat. MA has tried over the years to reduce the cost of play, but supporting more sweaters will not improve the game.

Side note : i do read a lot of negativity talking about sweaters

Why do people hate them ?

Like ... i did read one two three good comments but everything else is just hate for some reason

Correct me if i am wrong :)

Here are 2 examples...

"Go kill bigger mobs they drop more PED, these are for us to sweat"

"Sweat is worth 2.5PED/K"

For people who for the most part contribute nothing to the game, they sure feel very entitled. Any sweater that thinks he's got a god given right to try and bully someone out of a paid activity is delusional. As delusional as the 2.5/K price on sweat they swear by, but very very rarely get to sell at that price without being bribed through streams or selling through events which tend to be capped to lower level players. They hold more sweat by the thousands than they hold PED, they milk people's grace for longer than necessary then disappear without ever really playing the game or amounting to anything within EU.

Rookie trades sweat for tokens to a npc

I think this is pointless since they can sell the sweat and buy guns and ammo from TT. The game doesn't need a new token to facilitate that.

Back on topic.. sweat for tokens ? NO, NO, NO
If playing for free, or nearly free, why should the game give you more for the money you haven't paid anyways.
Someone has to cover the cost somewhere of any tokens, and you just want to pass it on to those that do depo. Unfair and unreasonable

As for sweat circles being boring for new players.. why ? When I was a new and non-depo player (yes I was for almost a year), I found sweat circles a great place to learn from others about the game, to socialise and make friends, some of who are still on my Friend list 11 years later.

The price of sweat has gone down, yet the usage in BPs has gone up, so the decrease in price is because impatient sweaters have constantly undercut each other in a race to the bottom. Don't blame the buyers.

If you want to play for free and develop as a player, use your time wisely. Sweat or swunt and chat to people to learn. Then sell what you can and maybe go walk for stones and fruit to have a change of activity (lower graphics settings helps as makes the fruit more visible if you lose the background clutter).
Then when you have a few ped, go hunt a little. BUT stay on small stuff, don't wear armour (death and heal is a whole lot cheaper than armour decay) Stack the oils and try to sell them, it may take a while but it is do-able. Then back to sweating to earn your next pile of ped

Take a break, run around the planet and gather all the TPs , you are going to need them later. NOTE I said run, not fly or drive. Why ?
Because that way you learn which mobs are where, which you can pass close by safely and which will hurtle towards you from what feels like a kilometre away with death in their eyes and hearts.
This may be a slower way to play, but it does not mean it is boring, and it will make you a better player later.
Far too many newer players pour money in, grab a vehicle and learn little of the game other than how big a mob they can shoot. They are often the first to burn out and quit. Patience patience patience and questions/answers are the key to longevity in EU, even for the less well off player

Decent idea but it would have to be limited to 1 hand in of 1k sweat per day.

Its not about giving free stuff to players

Its about free players spending ped

I dont see how i pay the Bills for a nondepo Player

I used to depo 300 Euro a month

I dont need sweat, or geting involved into sweat trading

But yeah i see your point
But ... i am not mad on players wo play the game for free , yes its about playing smart

If i dont depo and play this game on a good lvl for free then i am smart

If i do depo like 300 a month and get the same experience then a non depo Player then i am not smart

Thats very simple

But this is not the topic

The topic is wuld it make sence trading sweat for tokens to buy weapons (you cant trade) so you actualy use them in hunting rather then staying sweating 24/7

As mentioned further up somewhere, Cyrene has a daily 500 sweat hand-in for 1 personal progress badge/token (avatar bound). Long ago I got enough badges to be able to get my stolen armour, but other than that I haven't really bothered with 'progress' any more on a planet that has stayed so 'undeveloped' for years and then managed a huge 'screwup' with the new armour.
If sweat can be exchanged for something that has no tt value but some other benefit, then I don't see why not. Sweating is the way I started as well and back then time was of a lot more value to other avatars it would seem. I did sweat circles but also swunting my own combibos.

sweating doenst have to be a boring activity it can be very good opportunity to socialize and meet new friends, learn more about the game and even team swunt it would however be nice if sweat did have a higher value or at least make it so everyone can do basic hunting mining and crafting and the use of those low level items reflect fairly on the loot or skill given to the user so that it doesnt impact the economy of depoing players, this would help new players get to know the basics of the game better as well as get some skill at least and be encouraged to upgrade from the noobie tools n guns and mobs to bigger and better or even just something to do while they recover some ped or able to next depo

its thanx to nice people and communities in this game that i keep playing im far from wealthy myself but i try to have fun where i can, enjoy meeting new friends and depo when i can, and appreciate all the helpful advice and support ive been given in my adventures and try to be supportive in ways i can, even if its just in the form of advice or the healing of a downed noob standing there patiently waiting for hp to regen or just following those that stream and use twitch, u can also learn some things there too as well as find out where they are and join in and possibly make more friends :)
