After a recent event for the best parody of a quote to fit PE/EU, I have had alot of good contesters.
Now, since I cannot choose a winner, I'll leave the final decision upon the firendly folks of entropia forum.

The price awarded to the winner will be 42*42=1674EFD and a 1000EFD contribution by Henceforth making 2674EFD

Here below you will find a list of quotes that made it through my preselection.

bizarrick

Quote: From "I Robot" by Isaac Asimov
1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Parody: The Three Precepts of a Good Mob by MA Standards.
1. A mob may not give loot to a colonist or, through inaction, allow a colonist to gain loot.
2. A mob must kill any colonist approaching it, especially when such action may lead to further decay of (L) armor.
3. A mob must run to a nearby turret as long as there are no armored or armed colonists in sight.

jaywalker

Dough Adams
In those days spirits were brave, the stakes were high, men were real men, women were real women and small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri were real small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri

Parody
Planet Calypso: where spirits are brave, stakes are high, men are real men, women are real men, and small grublike creatures from Eudoria are real pains in the butt

Pepto

Newtons First Law of motion
A body at rest remains at rest and a body in linear motion remains in motion with constant velocity until and unless an external force is applied on it.

Parody
A HOF at rest remains at rest and a HOF in linear rotation remains in rotation with constant velocity until and unless a newbie kills a Daikiba Young

Pepto (entry 2)

Fosdick, Harry Emerson
The world is moving so fast these days that the man who says it can't be done is generally interrupted by someone doing it.

Parody
The loot is so dynamic these days that the player who says he cannot get a HOF is generally interrupted by a player getting it

I got my first real blueprint
traded it for my Swine
Clicked it ´til my fingers bled
It was the summer of ´09

Me and some guys from school
Had a soc and we skilled real hard
Jimmy broke, Jody chipped out
I shoulda known we´d never get far

Oh when i look back now
Those peds seemed to last forever
And if i had the choise
Ya - i´d always autoclick dampers
Those were the best days of my life

Ain´t no use in complaining
When you got an hof overdue
I spent my evenings always crafting
And thats when i met you yeah!

Standing by your Tool Machine
You told me you´d borrow a blueprint
Oh and when you saw its QR
I knew it was time to uber
Those were the best days of my life

Oh yeah! It was the summer of ´09

CyberPunk
Starwars
“Remember, a Jedi's strength flows from the Force. But beware. Anger, fear, aggression. The dark side are they. Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny. Luke... Luke... do not... do not underestimate the powers of the Emperor or suffer your father's fate you will. Luke, when gone am I... the last of the Jedi will you be. Luke, the Force runs strong in your family. Pass on what you have learned, Luke. There is... another... Sky... walker.” Star Wars, George Lucas

Parody
Remember, an ATH comes from mining. But beware. Bombs, amps, finders. Expensive are they. Once you start mining, forever you will need more. Disciple... Disciple... do not.. do not underestimate the powers of the Entropedia or suffer a depositing fate you will. Disciple, when gone am I... nobody to answer your questions there is. Disciple, the markup runs high on these ores. Pass on what you have learned, Disciple. There is... another... noob... to mentor."

nahtanos
Horace Greeley
The darkest hour of any man's life is when he sits down to plan how to get money without earning it.

Parody
The darkest hour of anyone's EU life is when they sit down to plan how to get Peds without earning them.

bizarrick (entry 2)
Tragic Gaelic poem quoted from "Quidditch Through the Ages".
Compilation attributed to Kennilwhorthy Whisp but written by J.K. Rowling.

The players assembled, twelve fine, hearty men,
They strapped on their cauldrons, stood poised to fly,
At the sound of the horn they were swiftly airborne
But ten of their number were fated to die.

Parody
The übers assembled, ten rich, nerdy men,
They drew out their launchers, ready to shoot,
At the sound of the HoF they heartily laughed
But nine of their team were given no loot.

Poll has been added and will remain open for the next 7 days.

May the best quote win; and more importantly, may it bring a smile (or making roll on the floor laughing) upon you face.

:)

That is great :wtg: Loved it :wtg:

Why the hell did I pay attention in Latin class?
I may make it my motto, though:
Quicquid argentum prodactus est, MindArk tenet.

Damn, people simply cannot resist music in the background!
At least I'm running second best, instead of worst...

And still I find your second quote better then your first :scratch2:
ah well maybe to many rich robo loving nerds here :D

Yeah, me too.
I think I stretched too much the three laws of robotics.

The poem kinda flows more naturally...
Maybe that's because I respected metric and rhyme. ;)

Ah well, I guess you're right.
There's too many nerds and not enough poets. :D

And what's up with those abstentionists?
They're a majority by themselves!
The "I dunno" option should be banned in EF. :p

i think i'll just quote Ghandi:

Victory attained by violence is tantamount to a defeat, for it is momentary.

I think i'll just parody Ghandi:

Victory attained by violence is awesome to a degree, for it can be (a) monetary (value).

-and-

To call woman the weaker sex is a libel; it is man's injustice to woman.

parody: To call daikiba the weaker creature is cruel; it is MindArk's injustice to all.

parody 2: To call PEDs the weaker monetary value is cruel; it is MindArk's injustice to all.

Old testament
Once in three years came the navy of Tharshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

Old book of lootiust
Once in three years came the good loot period, bringing oils, and hides, useless bones, and armor, and some logs about a dead scientist you don't really care for it the first place.

Dear IRS, Please remove me from your mailing list.

Trying is the first step towards failure.

the enigma of mining
dropping a bombis the first step towards NRF.

The Lord of the Rings
Go not to the Elves counsel, for they will say both no and yes.

The Lord of Support
Go not to the MA support for counsel, for they will say both "we will forward your case" and "it's our company policy to not answer".

ok, peeps, seems that rich chi will have won, but plz go ahead and give a not mattering vote.

Curiously enough, I already knew since the beginning that he'd win.
His votes always doubled mine.

A curious mathematical tendency if you ask me. ;)

Anyways, ya get EFD from me for that one. AND + rep :)

Anyway, thanks for the kind words and the cempensation prize. :D

I just saw this thread for the first time :)

Grats to Rick-Chi and Give me EFD!

I just finished the last pages of the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, a trilogy in 5 parts. The special buggy edition versions with a random duplicate pattern and 2 covering sheets; as mindbogling suprising the end may have been, the result of this poll is not.

Gratz to rich chi for winning the contest :yay:

2764 EFD is comming your way.

I would like to thank all participants for their contributions.
I would've add some quote here but I'm still trying to digest the last chapters of what seems to be the most mind intertaining 800 pieces of paper wich doesn't exactly look unlike a book.

Ohhhh so many votes. Thank you all you kind people :)
