I'm on my laptop for a few more weeks but it sadly has Vista. In Vista I must right-click on the EU icon and run it as administrator for EU to work. When I try to launch EU through Xfire it won't work because I can't run it as administrator when I try and launch it. Anyway I can get EU launched through Xfire as administrator?

as loath as I am to help anyone run xfire...

use your file browser to find the EU client loader and executable files.
right-click and bring up the properties menu.
pick the compatibility tab.
click on "always run as administrator".

I expect that this will solve your problem, but since I do not run xfire, you will have to try it and see.

right click the EU exe
Select properties
Select security
Click Edit
ensure the checkboxes are checked for ALL of the accounts (admin, users, trusted installer etc etc etc)

click apply
close.

Right click on EU exe
select properties
select 'always run as admin'
click apply

This will have now changed the security permissions for EU exe to allow anything to use it.

right click the Xfire exe
Select properties
Select security
Click Edit
ensure the checkboxes are checked for ALL of the accounts (admin, users, trusted installer etc etc etc)

click apply
close.

Right click on Xfire exe
select properties
select 'always run as admin'
click apply

This will now have changed the security permissions for Xfire so it runs as an admin account and allows it to interact with other programs.

Now, use Xfire to open EU...

Should work.

Confusus Says: Problem is not vista. Problem is a nut behind the keyboard...

or do what I do and disable the UAC and all that crap so you never have the problem again :)

ps. Vista is 1000x better than XP and I can't believe you can go back to XP after using it for even a day :)
