What Floats your Musical Boat, At this Very Second :)

The Allman Brothers Band - Whipping Post - 9/23/1970 - Fillmore East

RIP Gregg Allman
December 8, 1947 - May 27, 2017 69 years.

I would like to think there is a music heaven and now you've joined your brother Duane there and are jamming together once again. Thanks for all the great music and good times it brought me over the years.

Brave This Storm
Trivium
Lyrics
Have you beheld how our ending befell?
We are the catalyst; engineered hell
The depths we've sunken to
The violent things we do
A cleansing tide would eradicate all of you
How did you think when in apathy's drink
That doing nothing would spare you from the brink
You're equally at fault; now broken by the assault
The righteous, the victims, the villainous ones and all
I know what you're hiding from
I know what you're hiding from
The waves keep crashing over
They pummel me, over and over
I don't think I can ever brave this storm
Should we go quietly?
Accept that all is lost?
I don't think I can ever brave this storm
Wash us away in the tides of decay
Extinction soon will claim us all as his prey
We're pulled in to the sea; the tempest has been set free

It was 50 years ago today...

That Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album was released in the US. One of many great Beatles albums I bought over the years. I did not have any luck finding the album on yt, only a bunch of crap posted, I guess do to copyright laws. I assume everyone has heard at least a part of it by now, if not, do yourself a favor and look for it.

BTW, I'm thankful that SiriusXM satellight radio created The Beatles channel 18, hate the price I pay to subscribe to it.

Dear Beatles,

Thanks for all the great music. I miss you every day.

Sorry about that Mac, not everyone lives in the land of the free though, so others can see it (for now anyway)

^ Does that work for you?

Sort of, I like the song, tribute bands, not so much, when the real thing is available. I do appreciate their love of the music and desire to play and sing these great songs! :)

Speaking of Tributes and covers..

This guy Johnny Nana does a great cover of "Love you to" from Revolver where he plays many of the instruments himself. I love all the songs the Beatles made with the Sitar, I loved the texture it added, I was always amazed how good George was with it, but he learned from the master Ravi Shankar, there is some footage of them playing together around.

See if you can recognize some people in the audience ;)

I'd forgotten about this one.

Life's a beach etc, etc. :)

Grateful Dead - Touch Of Grey

Every time I hear that song I can see a man, astronaut Hal Bregg, climbing up the mountains at night. The sun rises through the morning mist and then he suddenly realizes he's looking at the ruins of the house where he spent his childhood, 300 years ago (Return from the Stars, the ending scene).

Cheers!
