Some weapons have a high attack rate e.g. MM has 86/min. With buffs could go over the 100/min attacks server limit. When it goes over what happens? If we overamp we get red text or warning if I remember correctly is there something similar for this situation?

Do you loose the excess ammo & decay?

Edit:
What affect if any would it have on enhancer breaks? and skill gains?

It limits the attacks per minute to the limit, and calculates how many attacks per min you actually lose because of this limit.

The damage lost, is instead converted into additional ammo burn and damage, to "match" the lost attacks per min.

This can easily be seen if you equip your mod merc, and compare your ammo burn before and after popping an candy cane or similar pill with attack speed, because it pushes you beyond that limit

Damage and cost per shot just get increased to compensate. No PEDs are gained or lost and no change to your dps. Keep in mind if you use chat log trackers, if your hits per minute change back and forth, the tracker will not pick this up, and you will get a margin of error on your shot costs.
I’ve made a thread going over this in more detail if you want to look it up.

A five second search on google returned me this page from Entropia wiki:

VU 15.7.1 (Dec 2015)
http://www.entropiawiki.com/Info.aspx?chart=VU&id=429

- Attacks with items that exceed the server limit of 100 attacks per minute (i.e. through stacked buff effects) will now receive a damage increase proportional to what would have been achieved with the faster attack speed, while still being limited to 100 attacks per minute. This damage increase will result in increased ammunition and item deterioration proportional to the additional damage created.

Thanks for all the info. Very much appreciated.

So I guess DPP will remain the same.

I havent thought about enhancher breaks and skill gains, but i believe they are based on the total cost.
Higher ammo burn, but slower weapon gives the same amount of skills per hour as a weapon with lower ammo burn and faster attack speed, if both weapons cycle the same ped per hour. Compare a Marber BGH to a simliar weapon in cost per hour, but with fast attack speed instead.

i believe, but have nothing to support this so take it with a grain of salt, that enhancer breaks after certain amount of ped cost... meaning higher dpp gun "break less enhancers"

they still break at the same ped spent, but since DPP is higher, you can deal much more damage in the same ped spent as an uneco weapon. High DPP = More use of your enhancer before it breaks

If, "The chance for enhancers to break is now directly and linearly proportional to the benefit provided." Then the question becomes what benefits if any are there for exceeding the limit?

I checked to see how wiki displays exceeding the limit on weapon compare.
MM with A204 Hypercharged before buff:
index.php

After 30% reload buff:
index.php

As you can see it shows 111.8/min attacks. So doesn't take into account the limit.
If you don't take into account the limit it shows dmg/sec would be 136.88

From what I understand when you exceed the limit damage and costs will be scaled up to compensate for not exceeding the limit and the resulting dmg/sec would still be 136.88

So therefore the benefit of exceeding the limit are that you get an increased DPS. Hence, consequently enhancer break rate will increase accordingly.

I'm still unsure about skill gains when you exceed the limit. However, I'm thinking DPS would increase and hence skill gained/min increases :)

****Start of conspiracy thoery****

It's been said but not conclusively tested, since it's very hard to test and only a few weapons can do this. But the over-damage paypasses all armor in PVP. At least this is what was said at LG long ago. Knowing MA and their amazing programming skills I'm inclined to believe this!
