my family is doing an early christmass caus ehte inlaws are heading out of state for the holidays, so i wont be around till later to hide things.

The judges have been given their instructions and we are all set.

Remember, for this event, fortune smiles on the non-spammers. ;)
 
Well it has been a busy couple of hours and we have our first 6 candidates. Our second judge is currently online, so you still have a chance to be selected for a prize even though I am busy in the forum. ;)

The names of the candidates will follow shortly, as soon as I have retrieved them from my chat log.
 
Oh. I forgot to mention in my last post. We have 2 changes to the event.

First, the spam rule has been removed in favour of encouraging more activity.

Second, we have 2 new prizes added to the prize draw, so the chances of you winning something if you are selected have just increased. :clap:
 
One of the bonus prizes on offer was the chance for EF members to claim my EFD if they asked for it in the first hour of the event.

The winners of the EFD bonus prize are:

7th claimant who didn't have an EF account at the time of the event.

As my current EFD total stands at 2650, you will each be receiving 378 EFD (I am going to be greedy here and keep the remaining 4 EFD to myself :evilking:)

Unfortunately, the 7th prize claimant did not have a forum account at the time of the event, so they are not eligible for the prize. The remaining 378 EFD will be split among the 6 other winners.

Only one candidate chose to accept the 2 PED bonus prize instead of entry into the prize draw:

Today has been rather a mixed bag of success and disappointment.

The first hour was a hit, but the second was only a modest success. Since then the event has been on a life-support machine. :(

Now, I can either throw good money after bad by making the prizes bigger, keep things as they are and hope the situation improves, or try a change of strategy.

If it was just my money involved, I think I would have tried the wait and see policy, but that wouldn't be fair to the other sponsors now, so a new strategy it will have to be.

Hindsight has given me a wonderful perspective on the situation, and I have the beginnings of an idea I may want to try.

For those still wanting to participate, the event is still on with the same prize pool so we will see how we go. I will let you all know about my idea as soon as I have given it more thought.

OK. I have come up with a way to possibly save this event without changing the rules of the game.

The main problem is that it is a week long event theoretically occurring 24 hours a day. There seems to be a lot of interest in the idea of the event, but not quite enough to maintain a near-constant stream of people. What appears to be happening is that a few people come to trade, find the area is empty then go off again after a time, only for another small group to arrive shortly thereafter.

To try to correct this, I am going to encourage more people to arrive at the same time by announcing a time that I will be there selecting candidates. If you know you have a chance to get the prize at that time, hopefully we can have a repeat of the first successful hour.

I will be at Hadesheim Central tp between 20:30 and 21:30 Sunday 17th December MA time (GMT). I will be selecting 4 candidates within that hour. If only 4 traders turn up, then they will be automatically selected for the draw.

If this proves to be a success, I can then decide whether to repeat it each day of the week.

Note: To avoid altering the rules of the event, I will still be selecting people at other times if they are there. All I am doing here is giving you advance warning of the best time to catch my attention. :)
 
i and a few others hid some things around the area for people to find, it drew a small crowed, but since i have a total of 10 ped to my name i couldn't donate as much as i would have liked, i do have some more things i can hide, which i will be doing tommorow at the same time as ther selection process. (were talking ammo, ores, guns, ect)

if you would like to donate PLEASE FPM ME donations are greatly appreciated.
 
I was at hades c earlier today, only one other avatar there, so there was little to trade; as I am not a trader anyway, I left after 5 minutes or so.
I fear Hades is just too difficult to reach for our n00bs. Everyone has PA, so that is where they trade.

I think the best option is to make this a place for traders with more expensive items; kind of a replacement for twin. Key for the success could be to get the pilots move to hades.

Well, we had more than 4 people turn up. :D

It was quite fun watching the interaction of all the traders. A nice mix of buyers and sellers, though not always buying and selling the same things. :laugh:

4 traders were selected, including one selling a service rather than an item.
I will be selecting another 4 traders each day this week (Monday to Friday) at the same time 20:30 to 21:30 (MA time), so pop along if you want a chance to enter the prize draw.

allright i hid the last of the loot from my last hunting trip, and spent all 10 of my ped on ammo to hide, didn't take long for it all to be found. now i'm off to sweat.

Lol i always use hades to quickly tp to a storage. I was very surprices seeing all that activity going on, need to seek a new storage tp :)

i still can't figure out why they didn't pick Hadeshiem, overlooked by most and neglected beyond belief since they took out the few (game run)merchants that were there previously, to locate the new shopping malls. instead they chose Port Lagg-lantis, and its' Twin, Peaks...?:rolleyes:

It was a little quiet yesterday as I think a lot of people were taking a look at the new malls. :laugh:

And... it's quite a good trading location too with two storage terminals!
 
I will be selecting 4 more traders today in just under 1 hour from now (20:30 to 21:30 MA time). I will then be making 5 more selections on Saturday before 13:00 MA time to bring the numbers up to the target of 40 I have been mentioning to people in-game.

If less than 4 new traders turn up today, and I find less than 5 traders on Saturday, then the odds for the existing contestants will improve. So here we have it; 9 more people to be selected in the next 17.5 hours. Good luck everyone. :)

I will be announcing the winners at 16:00 Saturday 23rd December (MA Time) at the Hadesheim Central tp. I will then post the winners on here shortly thereafter.
 
I still love this idea, though I think it did not turn out as well as we really would like to. I've often been to Hadesheim C and even stood around there alone trying to attract more people, but most time I had to give up without any guy having a stop there. :(
 
Well, the event has now drawn to a close. In the last week I have managed to select 36 candidates, and only one accepted the 2 PED instant prize. Therefore the remaining 38 PED from the bonus fund has been added to the grand prize to make a very nice 88 PED for 1 lucky individual.

I was hoping to select a further 5 candidates, but due to a lack of traders at Hadesheim in the last few hours, only 35 people are now going into the draw.

The results will be announced at 16:00 MA time today at Hadesheim Central. Winners can collect their prizes at that time, or as soon as I can find them after that.
