If you think this wont happen then I have two words for you.
- Goldcard
- Healthbars
I do have sympathy for the posters above who have so many incomplete missions open but I cant see this not being implemented because the mission system at the moment across Entropia as a whole is disorganised.
We have seen it happen before in changes such as auction fee change, amp change, footguard introduction etc in years gone by.
I did without a lot of sleep when the 2012 mission structure changed, so I know it will cause problems but it should be an improvement afterwards (here's hoping anyway.)
This isn't quite the same as changing auction fees or amps, this is a thing that people have worked on for years and have ongoing.I do have sympathy for the posters above who have so many incomplete missions open but I cant see this not being implemented because the mission system at the moment across Entropia as a whole is disorganised.

[h=2]Dev Notes #20 - Mission System[/h] Hunting Mission System
Example
You have the current “Iron Atrox IV” mission active. After the implementation of the new mission system, for each kill of a qualifying Atrox creature, you will receive progress on the new Atrox Hunting Challenge mission as well as on the legacy "Iron Atrox IV" mission. If you fulfill the requirements for the Iron Atrox IV mission during the grace period, you will receive the usual reward, but you will not be able to begin the legacy Iron Atrox V mission. Instead, you will automatically receive the next stage of the (new system) Atrox Hunting Challenge mission.
which means there's room for some flexibility here as well so people should chill a littleThis grace period will extend approximately one month from the implementation of the new mission system.
Ahhhhhh the big VUs
The update seems nice to me.. and as usually seems like someone somewhere is also overreacting a little
Judging by how flexible MA was (in my opinion) with the camera system, I believe there's a lot of room for doing this update without pissing off the legacy players so people should relax a bit and try some constructive feedback that might actually help them.
The solutions can be simple for both MA and those that value so much those started missions.
I never played this game for missions (except that one time when I wanted to unlock commando in 2016) and I personally think it's a waste of time and a huge waste of progress. The skills don't mean much (most are @100% worth) and hunting crap mobs (crap MU-wise) just to get a crap reward seems like a crappy strategy to me.
But I can understand different people play this game differently so for those that have a different perspective, they can go for those missions they want to keep progress for during the grace period and just switch to the new mission system during that period, they will get the reward and they will save the progress.
As for a solution from MA, it also seems very simple. As a programmer I can understand they cannot carry the progress from within the stage from one system to another but from the notes I can see they can actually carry the stage progress, so if you are on stage IX on neomex in the current system, they can switch your stage to the new system to stage 9 and thus only erasing the progress within a stage but not erase the whole chain entirely.
There are people that are temporarily away or will be in vacation during this grace period so there should be a different approach to this.
There's also this
which means there's room for some flexibility here as well so people should chill a little
So... I have a set time to round out my favorite missions? And mining missions... This is going to hurt.
Finally after 28 years some logic and common sense.
Thanks
they will change some things for sure, they usually make announces likes this for feedback
so chill plebs and go finish some missions

While the changes introduced by the new mission system are positive, the management of the transition from the old one is perplexing, to say the least.
Missions and rewards are a "core" part of the game and enough has been said about the consequences of wiping off years of game play time, which for the vast majority of players amounts to sizeable financial "investment".
What I'd like to point out is that there is no technical reason whatsoever to impose such a draconian grace period. First of all, the two systems will live in parallel for a month anyway, which proves that they can run at the same time.
I'd also like to point out that we are in 2019, and that the "Mission Token Converter" NPC in Cape Corinth is still there. This lovely character was introduced in 2013 to convert the old Mission Tokens to the new Combat Tokens, and somehow I don't think he's been very active for the last few years. Below the full announcement for those interested.
It is therefore preposterous to claim that such a short cut-off date should be imposed for the transition between the two mission systems, because MA has proved they can easily tolerate legacy systems for well over 5 years.
I am sure MA's new management, who have made transparency and communication a pillar of their strategy, will want to reassess the transition plan and avoid the inevitable conspiracy theories about "confiscation" or any other accusations of financial manoeuvres aiming to wipe any outstanding credits on missions (all rewards have ped-equivalent amounts, after all) and forcing players to restart them.

They said planned to release in Q3 2019. June was the last month in Q3... Do they live in the past?
