Hadesheim Free Trade Event

In order to encourage traders to move away from Port Atlantis and Twin Peaks, I am offering prizes for 6 lucky people trading around Hadesheim Central tp between 13.00 Saturday 16th December and 12.59 Saturday 23rd December (MA time). All you need to do is hang around the tp while trading and follow the very basic rules below.


Rules:
  1. Anyone buying or selling items/services around Hadesheim Central tp during the event will be eligible to win one of 6 prizes.
  2. Traders should only use a maximum of 5 lines of the chat window per minute for trading. This includes use of blank lines and decorations like ===== or %%%% to make your offers stand out more. Rule withdrawn to encourage as much activity as possible.
  3. Judges will visit the location at random times and select a number of traders as candidates for the prize. (The Judge may ask you to open a private chat window to get a record of your full name).
  4. If a judge witnesses someone breaking rule #2, that person will be disqualified from winning a prize, even if they have been previously selected as a candidate.
  5. Once the event has concluded the names of the candidates will go into a hat and the first 4 names pulled out will win the prizes. (Keep an eye out on this thread once the event has concluded, as I will need to arrange to meet the winners to give them their prizes).

Prizes:
  1. 50 PED
  2. 20 PED
  3. 15 PED
  4. 10 PED
  5. Neo Psion Ab MF implant (TT = 8.22 PED)
  6. 5 PED

(Generous donations from: Draggger 15 PED, fluke 15 PED, Anomaalia 50 PED, il 8.22 PED Implant and additional 2 PED)


Bonus:
In addition to the main prize draw, there are also the following bonusses on offer:

  • 6 candidates will be selected in the first 2 hours of trading. Be there from the start for a greater chance of being selected for the prize draw.
  • As a reward for Entropia Forum members that support this event, I will be giving away all of my EFD to anyone who opens a private chat with me during the first hour and asks for my EFD. My admittedly small amount of EFD will be shared amongst everyone that wants it. (You will need to give me your forum name when you chat to me. If I get swamped with private chats, please bear with me. Everyone who wants my money will get a turn.)
    (1,000 EFD donated to the bonus prize fund by Billy (BB)
  • Candidates selected by Judge Midori will be given the choice of accepting the entry to the prize draw or an instant 2 PED prize. Acceptance of the 2 PED prize will mean that you will be disqualified from the prize draw even if one of the other judges selects you later on. (This offer only available until 40 PED has been used up - any unused funds at the end of the event will be added to the main prize).
  • Other generous players have offered to hand out prizes to people at Hadesheim Central independently of the main event. These prizes will not affect your chances of winning the main competition.


Please help to make this event a reality by spreading the word to your friends and soc mates. Even if you are not interested in the prizes, your presence would be a welcome boost to help get us started.

Nice initiative. I have just been calculating the value of all my horded stuff, as I'm out of PED atm, so Ill shall take a trip to H to see if I can do some business there.

I "hear" poeple talk about Hadesheim for over a week now... but I still haven't been able to reach it... it is not reachable by noobs: to dangerous :(

I am getting quite curious though.

At PA and Twin was the average amount of people ..don't know how much ..but I saw the same amount of green dots on the radar as always, so that means it was very crowded over there. And on all the other TP's were 5 tp's without people.. around 15 TP's with only 1/5 people and 15 TP's with something like 5/15 people on the radar

Great initiative. We have tried hard to get HC on the trade-map, but still too few ppl around to really make an impact.

I support the idea 100%
Will be going to HC to buy ores regularly now, so miners can get a good deal :D

well not really the time it would take me to figure out the add system and to work the add several times to get it just right i would have spent 50 peds hunting so i am actually saving 20 peds by doing this

Dragger ill match what you put in to the ad terminal if you like to give the ad a bit more coverage :)

Who knows if we start using Hades, Maybe MA will bring some function to that glorious city. :wtg:

good deal Creature i will do it as soon as i get home from work then i am thinking of around 40-50 ped investment so with you matching we can get good air time on the ad screens and i would love to see hades get some use i was walking thru there last night just looking at every thing once again it has been a long time since i had gone there myself

Thanks to the generosity of Draggger and Creature we now have an ad for the event on the in-game vid screens. The ad is currently set to last for 7 days from today, so get rushing to those ad screens with your friends to capture forever this piece of Entropia Event nostalgia. :D

I find the easiest way to get to Hadesheim is from Atlas Island North tp, but it is best if you can find a guide that is willing to take you. Try asking at Port Atlantis. :wise:

I hope to see you at the event next week.
 
I will be out most of Saturday, but as soon as I'm at home I'll make sure I am in Hades to support this :) Midori, check your PM and we can arrange to meet in Hades so I can give you the 15 ped for prizes.

Also if there is anyone that needs someone to take them on a TP run to Hades, I will be on the next few nights, send me a PM and myself and my soc mates will help you out.
 
i will check it out. i hope this takes off, but shoppers need to know about this just as much as traders, will the ads reflect that?

the true benefit of twin and PA is regular traffic. i like hades a great deal, but wonder if it is the best location. argus seems busier, but perhaps i am not seeing the bigger picture.

I was thinking that buyers would understand that they are included under the term "trader" too and also eligible for the prize. However, I see no harm in adapting the promotional messages I am dropping in-game to encourage more buyers to come.

+rep for pointing out this potential weakness. :)

For your second point, the main reason for this event is to increase the level of traffic at Hadesheim Central. I am gambling on the idea that enough people will continue to visit Hadesheim after the event to make it a sustainable trading hub in the long term.
