I began this EFD contest, asking people to post their best sunset pics. The prize stands at 6,000 EFD, and will be awarded on March 27th. Please quote the pics you like the most, and state "I vote for this one", or some variation of it. As long as it says "vote" in the reply, It will be counted.

Any contributions to the prize pool are welcomed.

Contributions:
Teilk: 5000 EFD
Dom_Sufc: 500 EFD
Jdegre 500 EFD

Please feel free to start voting.

If I had a good camera, Id take a shot of this little patch where I live. It has a single tree on the hedge line. The sun sets right behid It. It'd be perfect.

Have you seen the one used for 6 feet under? Or whatever the program Is called. Its something similar to that.

Oh, I dontate 500 EFD to the winner too :)

No, I havent seen that one, but I have several pics from the same shoot as proof that I took the one posted.. Some are even more intense, but am saving them for any unforseen competition :)

Nice picture! I usually do only sunrises as i can only see it from my house. They are much prettier here than the sunsets :)

Sunrises are acceptable as well :)

Here is my entry. Had an ice storm here so I took a pic off my deck. Now if I only had a good scanner for dealing with my chrome.

Judging by the sharpness of your image Teilk I'd say ur shooting digital these days?

Nice, and yes, am using an older model fujifilm 2.0 . The sharpness could have been gotten with a normal 35mm, but I have found it much less expensive to fire off 200 or so shots on my digital. I will take k's of pics, looking for the perfect one :). Used to cost me a ton of money when I used standard 35mm 400.

Yep you can get the sharpness off a 35 clearly, but like you said it costs a ton. I don't have a professional scanner to achieve these results sadly.

Ooh, i like that one! So pretty!

I will have to dig up my sunrises. Unfortunately i have not been able to get any pretty ones the past year (or maybe i just have not been too interested in them?!)

Wasn't sure if I should post 2 as well. Will remove if you want me to just pick my favorite.

Nah, lets make a show of it. After the contest ends, we will have people pick the favorite :)

Seems like we have some uber-photographers here ;)

Hmm, Im not so good. Actually everything I manage to catch with my camera has something to do with alcohol :scratch2:

Would it be cheating if I posted any of my sisters pictures and claimed them as mine!?

Go to stretch/skew and reduce the overall size of the image. Make sure they are saved as .jpg images.

That looks pretty good for a scan, btw ;)

Even better if by regular camera she meant a point-and-shoot 35 using color negative film. That would almost make one wish they had their slr with them ;)

Nice pics Cinni!

I have a couple of sunsets I want to enter. I don't think they are equal to what we've seen until now, but I took them and just want to show others. They were both taken on our cruise aboard the MS Elation, a Carnival ship, in March of last year.

Sunset over the Carribean

...and another...

That's all I have. I hope you like them.

Sincerely,
Donald

Great looking shots Donald. Looks like you had a nice trip. :D

Thanks, Cal! I did have a nice trip, and two more since those pics were taken. I am something of a cruise-junky! :)

Sincerely,
Donald
