A couple of days ago, I was privileged to have Ido Starlit Sunrider of Quantum Interstellar invite me personally to the grand opening of his new “Gallery of Contemporary Arts.”

Starting out as a trader, he soon recognized a gap in the market and became a pioneer in the then new profession of beauty, quickly rising to be one of the top skilled beauticians on Calypso (inspiring me in the process). Today, Ido becomes a pioneer in yet another new profession open to colonists of Calypso, that of gallery owner.
Inspired by the works of Japanese artist Masamune Shirow, and sketching by hand, Ido has taken advantage of the new Player Content screens to upload his own artwork for display to the public.
The gallery can be found in Billton Tower 3 Apartment 5G. Ido can be contacted here on the forum via private message for those interested in purchasing his artwork. However, on opening night, he remained focused on the art rather than a fast sale, despite several requests to purchase his work. He explained that a lack of new art appearing in the City of Culture at New Oxford inspired him to open his own gallery. Initially showing his own work, Ido plans to showcase all the different and diverse artists on the planet by displaying one new artist a month, and hopes to bring the culture back to our city and create a true gallery of the people in the process. Judging by the packed opening night, he can't possibly fail in this endeavor!

A Packed opening night!
Ido does not want to restrict the people to paintings and drawings only, and convinced there is an artist in everyone of us, Ido hopes to bring sculptures and other art forms for display in the gallery. “I want to encourage your creativity” he explains.

After seeing the beautiful sketches, I for one feel very inspired, and will break out the crayons with my daughter as soon as she gets back from nursery. If Ido can inspire me to draw, I am sure we can expect to see some more artists very soon!
