Armor/Clothing
Armor Foot Guards are finally introduced. No extra damage will be incurred by avatars without Foot Guards until Version Update 9.1.

The increased detail of armor and clothing will demand more system performance. In an attempt to stave off a lag increase, a deterioration of 2 PEC per item has been introduced when equipping garments and armor. Increased realism will make clothes look more worn as their condition diminishes.

Just like today, all combinations of different armors and clothes will not be perfect but many new unforeseen combinations will look great.

----------------------

With the implementation of VU 9.0 it will cost you 12 pec to equip your armor and then another 12 pec to change into other armor.

Reasonable change or crafty way to loosen a few peds from your ped card?

Your views.

i think alot of people will be running around in their underwear from now on

i think you only have to pay when equipping, not removing. but its still a tax on putting on armour. and it'll be 14pec with the new armour peices.

not good at all.

what happens if you repair and have 0 left on your ped card? cant wear anything?

will repairing equipped armor count as removing it? otherwise i can see me choosing a set of armor and not taking it off for a few months :)

Will that apply to your OJ as well?
:scratch2:

Yeah, I think youre right - decay only on equipping , edited my first post to reflect this.

Bad comminication of a bad idea
Treating us like fools :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
MORE IMPORTANTLY, providing an instant and highly visible rebellion method, as
anyone who wishes to protest about this will simply run around naked.

How are they going to get marketing screenshots and movies of the expensive new engine then?

I'm stunned at the stupidity...........:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

(cant use more than 10 smilies but this is most mad i've been in maybe 18 month ingame)

Show me ONE country in real life that charges citizens tax on getting dressed or wearing personal protective equipment

It is not only the introduction that makes me upset but also their IMHO lousy attempt to justify it. Server performance...

I fully understand that MA want clothes to decay, especially as from now on it will effect the look of the clothes.
However, it should not be from equipping. Better to let it decay over time, if you wear something a lot, or in combat as with armor.

Decay when equipping is really annoying, people will refraim from changing clothes, or even wearing any at all.

Ofc the servers would be busy right after the VU because everybody wants to see how the stuff looks like ... but damn MA you make us pay to see the new cool stuff?
No hunt that needs armor for me as long as this robbery remains!

There is going to be a riot on this one, if MA is only concerned about lag they can have a warning you will be charged for THOSE WHO ABUSE THE SYSTEM ONLY. I have to pay every time I want to change armor to hunt a different mob? I don't think so. Thats not to metion the clothes, the ladies are going to go nuts about this one, let your angry support cases commence :yay:

Protest! back to OJs till it is fixed!!!

this stupid "new feature" has the potential to collapse the clothing market, at least at the lower/mid range......so be it

Let MA pay for this

OJ's on everyone!!! and remember that encouraging a protest on EF gets u banned from EF.

But remember, no EF needed if u aren't playing EU anymore......

i must somehow missed the news that Servers & Internet-Traffic is getting more and more expencive since the high "load" is the "reason" for MA to introduce this new TAX!

I will not pay that! I put my OJ on and thats it for the next few months!

Another "Let's make TT items unusable at 50% condition" idea.
What next, decay for logging in and out, running, more decay on items for the fancy effects they cause (like support wep, mindforce eq)?
I guess I'll get all orange again.

this is outragous if you ask me.

come on MA. this is a really bad way to get extra money its a insult :mad::mad:

i got a feeling they're gonna lock this thread or delete it.......................

I saw all the cool screenshots with new clothes and i was happy with them... planning to buy a lot of them..... but now ... with this stupid idea .... no no no no no.... only OJ's for me.... and only unarmor sweating for me... is it ok for u MA... ????

Please stop this fullness now.... don't destroy a good vu that would bring more players in this universe.... or u will loose us too...

Hmmm

I guess lag will increase now cuz everytime you remove anything now another operation need to be done... -0,02 TT value on item.

So that will only make the server work more.. not less... :yay:

Also, now ppl will stand and repair clothes by small amounts untill they think they look in the way they want em to look. More work for server...

This is only an excuse to make more profit...

BUT

I do like the idea a bit with the clothes.. But the armor is better to have decay in battle ONLY. And the clothes can have decay when you remove them, not when putting them on if you can't repair them when wearing them. Otherwise you can't wear anything with full TT value.

1st thing I'm gonna do when i get in the new VU is sell my clothes, in fact i might even TT them
EDIT: no, TTing them is stupid, i'll sell them at auction at buyout for TT price. Watch closely, u better be fast if u want a bargain

There is no reason to do either, it's a valid poll and breaks no forum rules.

I'm quite sure Mindark were prepared for this reaction.

Um, well... no, not for all of us. I requip my armor rougly 10 times a day, probably more like 15 but lets say 10 to make it easy. Thats 1.2 peds a day i just give up with this change. In one week, i will have given 8.4 ped up. In a month its over 30 peds for nothing. And with the introduction of boots, and the real amount of times i equip it its rougly 50 peds i just give away. Now, sure you can make a case for 50 peds a month not being crucial... and id agree. But its the principle really... charge me 50 peds more a month, with a bs excuse i may add, just doesnt sit right with me at least.

As i said, its not so much the amount as it is the plain idea of this as well as the really stupid explaination. :bs:

For armor, it depends if repairing will decay it too. Since we can repair with attachments attached in this VU, I would be ok with it when it doenst decay then.

For clothes it seems a good idea. The cost is low enough IMO. For one dollar I can put on a cloth 500[/] times. It does add some realism.

You people just don't know your psychology ...........

We've just been hit by a classic sandwich technique,

"always" put 1 thing of bad between 2 things of good.

Lest we never forget the law of "soverign immunity" ........

The king can do no wrong.

But engineers ..... they are never finished fixing something until they've broken it completely.

This little cluster fluck ought to increase the churn rate of this game quite nicely.

I expect esi prices to explode upwards as middle and lower skill players depart from this game by the hundreds (not that there's really that many players now)

New ideas in fashion:

naked crafting and mining.

Hunting will soon go the way of the dodo.

I started in pre gold and did put up with a lot of %%$#

I had understanding for some things, even when I did not agree.

I swalowed, adapted and kept playing.

But now this???

2 PEC to change undie's???

FFS, whats next, paying tax per meter we walk to atempt to reduce lag???

Geez.
