I never had a official mentor as I joined before the mentorsystem was implemented. However I had one teaching me 24/7, Gnasher ;)
I cant remember how much a pain in the ass I was but Im sure he does :D

None

Never had a mentor.
I joined before the mentor system was available.
I joined when there was like 50 people playing (and the map was much, much smaller) during the BETA phases..

Joined before mentor system came but have to say that the first player to help me and my m8 out was none other that the fabled truantduck (Gem) of cK but thats before cK was even created and back when mk2 was the shit :)

I Never had a official mentor
But im very greatful to Svetlana who answered all my noob questions and managed to do that with a smile ;)

Thx Svetlana :silly2:

Thx

had a mentor but nothing special. i would rather say thX 2 some of all the other people helping me out like "Kjetil" "Annica" "Skam" "Hyp"

and alot more supporting with info when needed but also the Great work Of MB making this possible :)

Mentor of the Day

I also never had an official mentor but SpyderX :cheer: was always there to answer any of my noob questions. The truth is that there are lots of people that helped me out both ingame and on forums. I try to take on disciples and be there to answer any questions they have (or pass them on to someone else who can help them). Mentoring is a great way to make friends and increase the fun level of PE! Since my first unofficial mentor has not played in many many months I have to give a shout out to my 2nd unofficial mentor DougKush :D !!! (would have said your ingame name but dont know if you want everyone to rush you to be their mentor  )

Here is to SpyderX and DougKush :beerchug: :drink:

After being forgotten by two other mentors, my current mentor is Mari Juana and she's great ;) I'm at 20% now or something. Doing to much PE Assistant coding and too little playing ;) (though I'm top of her 'class' right now)

Ermm, that would be "the fabled truantduck (Rei) of cK" ;)

"Gem" is "Gemini Gem Heart"

"Rei" is known as "TruantDuck" on forums.

I started before mentoring also, when Atlas Haven was the main hangout for players, but (cK) "Angel Shadow Heart" was always very helpfull. :)

This is a first i admit i must be wrong then it wasnt truantduck it was gem guess im getting cónfused at my old age o_O and as a sidenote i got off on the bad side with angel from about day one for some reason but gem was allways nice and then came along this fellow noob called Mindbuster and his friend Beast :)

Nupi. Much more than a mentor to me, I consider him a good friend as well. I joined very shortly after the mentor system was added - only a matter of days, actually.

I never had a mentor since I started before It was implented...but I guess it was my IRL mate Muppis who was helping me in the beggining since he started about three weeks before me :)

I too started before the mentor system was created when Atlas haven was the main hangout on the continent. Nocturnal Navigator was always hanging out there, and i would say that he had a big influence on me in the early days (he also gave me a number of items to help me out before i deposited). A little while later Kazzza and PPK took me under their wing when i found them hunting in the middle of nowhere... Soon after the Black Legion was formed with the goal of fighting off the robot threat that was creeping around the fringes of Eudora cities. At about this time i got hooked to pvp1 which of course was the first pvp. I began to mine constantly inside of the zone in the rich mineral fields that CK had claimed control over. :) This is when and where i met my friend Rei who i began to sell things for when he didnt have the time. I also met the rest of the Ck group who loved to kill me at first but gradually i believe i "grew" on them (Demos,Heart,Angel,Qumefox,Linzey). I would kinda try and mine under their noses at this time, as the pvp1 zone was the only real area i could make a steady profit. I then became hooked to the zone, and was always roaming around, even when the dropship exploded in the atmosphere over calypso. I was lucky enough to find 150 peds of ammo in three 50 ped stacks :D. From there it was history, so i credit my early mentorship to those great ppls! I have many i would like to thank since that point such as crash override who i cofounded Calypso Thunderstruck with, and all those friends i made along the way afterwards!

Didnt have a mentor. Didnt understand that I could have that then  but...

Star Matrix Warrior - He is a kind of mentor to me, very helpfull :)
Sweden Hunting Soceity was very nice to me when I was a newbie.:tiphat:

and EF offcoures :grouphug: big thanks to all.

Didnt have a mentor. I got spammed with mentorship offers when I joined but I didnt accept any...

I'm a smart cookie.. I dont need anyone to tell me how to figure shit out ;)

Static Nine Xaron ... you did a fine job m8 :D

Also skilled up a serious bunch of ppl by now ... :dunce:

I never ever had a mentor, but has Exoknight and quite a few others to thank for where I am now :)

Someone who very much deserves to be on this list is
"Ignitior il Lavashna from SMA", he taught me how to survive and enjoy the harsch world of Calypso!

I wish I had a good mentor story to tell. She's never around and I only feel like I've been 'farmed'. The only thing she ever asks, if she is online is, 'You want to group hunt?' This is suspicious, consider she takes the majority share of the loot. She doesn't even have a clue where half the stuff is that I asked about... And that's why I stopped asking questions as well.

There should be no time limit placed on kicking mentors, or at least up that trial period for players to a more reasonable time-frame - such as 1/4 or 1/2 of the skills required by the mentor. This would allow a n00b to have a time period where they have an opportunity once they've lost a great amount of their naivity in the game. Also, this way a bad mentor isn't encouraged to farm as if they're kicked more often they won't receive all these so-called 'special gifts' that MA has lined up for them. It seems to me that it's incredibly unfair if people receive free items if you did all the work on your own and with no input from a Mentor.

Just sayin'. Apologies for my 'whine', as you people say - and in this thread.

Me too. I wish I had just left this person alone. Now she'll get something for free basically. I'm very capable on my own terms, and have been very successful, perhaps more successful without waiting on her for any kind of input (when she even does?).

Well, I did have a mentor - but not that I *used* him that much though. We mostly had cosy pm-chats, more private than PE-related!

I ran all tp's myself - used mostly friends and soc members when having PE-questions! Dunno why I even got a mentor? I like to explore things on my own - but I believe it was also the nice thought about "graduating" :D Having a mentor helped me to set a goal and kind of kicked me!

When I graduated, I kind of expected a *clap on my shoulder* (not peds or items, just some nice words about how clever I was) from my mentor (wellllll, I was proud :wise: ) - but I just remember he told me the gun he got was tt crap  !

*Im sorry, old mentor, that I didnt do it better :D - nevertheless, the one who laughs last, laughs best .. or whatever .... and look were that got me ... :wise:

'TT crap or not - it was still free, right? As a newer player, anything free for me is only profit that can be made. I would hope people aren't ungrateful of whatever gifts they give for something that they encourage to do in the first place, which is to help others and especially newer players. The system is simply an incentive system in place to encourage more of that kind of help so that the game has more growth potential - keep new players downloading, joining, hopefully enjoying.
