Insane last 24 hours. Its funny to how you expect to see the big ubers on that list. With mobs like Falx, Dasp, etc. Nope.

Makes me wonder why, after 8 years, should I bother to buy uber gear? I haven't gotten anything CLOSE to these size loots in that time. Would it change with a gear change? Scary question.

I never said anything one way or another. I"m pretty sure that anyone hunting LTs it was over due. I wish him nothing but congratz!! This thread is about frequency of ATHs

I believe that most ppl knew that a LT ATH was comming.. now its just the 100k+ ATH on a eomon thats left and then the migration will be over.

levis.. well.. take a slot machine monster that a one week old noob can kill and youll end up with the levis.. the small ones are beeing hunted like nothing else.. check the tracker.. young-old is insane.. the bigger ones, wich was way more popular in the beginning is lagging behind.. I like the big ones because they dont give any no looters.. but thats just me it seems.. if more ppl would start hunting the bigger ones then there would be more ATHs on them as well.. if small atrox were a ATH mob we would probably see a new ATH every day lol

But doesn't that call into question the very reason for this thread? Three people ATHed today, one of them I know. Maybe the other two where over due aswell.

Your missing the point, maybe re-read the whole thread from start will help clear things up?
Op'er does not want to enter a game where there are ATH's happening every day/week.
To me yesterday's ath's were imo just totally off the chart disgusting, 3 in 1 day? :loco:

I dunno.... I never got an ATH in my EU lifetime.... though I have noticed about 10% of ATH's really are "un-deserved" IMO.

It was a Saturday and hence fairly busy, during a big event where way more people are hunting ATH mobs than usual. I don't think it's all that surprising there were some big loots.

does it? All we've been told is that MA take enough from decay to pay for their expenses and the rest going to loot, we've never been told the split on this. They've repeatedly said the % tt return has not changed from previous years so ATH's must then have an effect on other peoples tt return.

Deposits are made to players ped cards which sit there, now obviously MA is using that money to pay for operating the company which is why we're only guaranteed upto the last 6 months of deposits now rather than the full tt value of our avatar as they've spent most of it. The majority of the money paid in sits there for months / years on end never moving, think about all those things people hold on to sitting in storage.

don't need to, odds can be calculated on roulette, card and dice based games quite easily. On slot machines casinos are legally obliged to have a minimum payout over period of time which is known to the public (which is why it's best to take over a machine someone else has been playing and losing on ;) )

Now that we're forced into holding ever increasing stacks of items to scrape together a 3% MU that ped isn't flowing through the system as well as it used to. So they now rely on the gamblers who are willing to pump ped after ped chasing a possible ATH.

Smaller payouts and a flatter loot distribution may result in a more stable economy as smaller stacks become sellable again and ped flows. Removing the auction fee on stackable items would also help but increasing it on tools, this would give shops more of an identity and use.
 
I have been here since 2004. My biggest loot was 1200 peds from a molisk back in 2005. I have never gotten anything remotely close to that since then. I am still here, and sure I would like to have an ath. But at one time you get to realise high loots are simply not for you. You are not the lucky avatar.

& what is you're weekly turnover + size of mobs you hunt?

as long as your on the profit its fine.. right?

chasing an ATH with a low bank roll using high mu L gear is never gonna work..

ppl buy uber gear because they will save more money from each hunt..

ppl who actually do fine in the game use the markup.. not the trade terminal..

a big bank roll never hurts.. it actually helps alot..

and last but not least.. it takes money to make money..

dunno what I wanted to point out here really.. might be that I have been awake for 24 hours.. will read this tomorrow and edit it out if I shared the big secret about how to play..

Seems like there are big ATH style HoFs in every category every day...

Too bad we don't know how the loot pool is affected by ATHs. Do the smaller loot amounts/frequency change? Does a big payout mean that loot is gonna be crap for that particular profession, area, mob, item in general?

I would like to see the analyzed data to see if loot turns to crap after a a big payout, or if it is irrespective of the normal activities...

Have you ever played progressive quarters? Are you going to hop on a bank of slots after a huge payout and the screen that just read 5280799 is now reading 1295? Me? No... but obviously people still do. It just means no more big ones till the pot is back up. Maybe the pot is getting built up faster because more people are playing?

Is the frequency / loot sizes any bigger before the BIG payout? Only the numbers/stats know. And can this change at a moments notice? Yes. Does it give you hope that it might happen to you? Well, the odds are not very good for getting an ATH, let alone a global/HoF or just not losing.

Of course, the goal is to have fun. Do you get a sinking feeling after someone else gets a huge HoF? Do you try to brush it off and still try to have fun. Trying not to get frustrated as your ped purse slowly gets depleted. Cutting back your style of play more and more until you are back in the sweat fields.

Do I know people that have gotten good loots? Yes. I am happy for them. It is exciting. Do they take everything out? Yes.

If there is no effect on my loot before or after a big HoF, I would not care. In fact, I would like to see more.
But, if MA is putting the squeeze on the masses so that they can put out the Wow factor, then, I think I would start getting that mean and angry feeling...

Is it too late for the dozens of my friends that no longer play this game and will never come back? I guess they have already shown how they feel. My list of friends who never log on is still getting longer. For the rest of us stuck with this addiction and hopes that we might actually profit, hopefully there are more of us that do get lucky.

I hope I can see my name carved in the ATH list someday... yes, I still need my PoE, DOA, and SGA 8A.... (ok, I need a few ATHs)

not complaining, though, just obervationaling...wait, is that a word? Observing would be better? An observation of loot? oki.

I wasn't trying to express that it was bothering me that much. I understand most don't give a shit. My main concern is why it's so often lately? The only affect that is having on me is that they seem less impressive. 73k... big deal there will be a 54K tomorrow and 89k next week. Just seems weird is all.
 
I'm all for having them more frequent and you should be too, it only increases everyone's chance of getting one.
 
lets all be honest, people play this game for the ath's, so the more they happen, the more people will play and want to play, ie- increase player base
 
ATH nice, but just want more sustainable play really. Just don't seem to be getting decent returns lately.

never ending loops of depoing kinda sucks.......lol More bang for buck

ATH every day is completely inappropriate. Im all for people getting super loots every once in a while, but this is stupid. There is no need for this, and ultimately it must be paid for by emptying the pockets of new players.

How does MA expect to retain customers when the newbies are getting 30-60% returns to pay for one guy's super find.

Fix it.

Want to see proof? Why dont you take a wander over to ANY OTHER BOARD ON THE INTERNET THAT TALKS ABOUT MMORPG's and look up Entropia Universe.

The proof is in the many former players who left after having their pockets emptied over their first month of play. It's called a very chilly reception, and outright accusations of consumer fraud.

When only a tiny fraction of anyone who tries the product actually stays and plays past 6 months what more proof do you need? You want the soc lists, the hundreds of players I have worked with to never see logon again? How about the hundreds of players many other individuals have worked with.

Proof. LMAO. Prove to me your eyes arent shut.

Its sad, because I enjoy this game. Im not one of the nay sayers who cries broken game at every corner. The semi-daily ATH's though are a bit laughable.
