High Packet Loss to MA Servers

In May i first started getting the problem. Lots of busy items and swaplag. It got a bit better but now it's horrible. Not only is it very frustrating and annoying but I also die from it waiting for the fappings to come thru. Half the time i emptyfap.

I tried pinging the servers and I got the following result:

Ping-statistic for 64.125.26.77:
Packet: Sent = 104, Received = 85, Lost = 19 (18 %),
Transfertime in milliseconds:
Lowest = 60 ms, Highest = 212 ms, Average = 67 ms

My ISP is Telia, and I have no packet loss to anywhere else it seems.Is anyone else experiencing similar problems? Any ideas what I can do?

Allow me to remind you that packets differ in-size, meaning you could have pinged the server with X bytes, when a real packet is Y bytes. In addition, what are the specs of your rig? Encryption/Decryption slows down packets as-well.

And antiviruses DO NOT protect you from Denial of Service attacks. Actually, little ARE the measures you can take against DDOS attacks, and about 80% of the world's providers aren't even getting close to the amount of bandwidth it takes to survive.

Problem is not so much to survive to the atack ...
But to reduse the number of "zombie" computeur in the world...
Most of "atacker" dont even know what happen in their computeur...While , a lot of anti virus maker say they dont carre , many provider are happy that M$ is making a free AV deliver with windows next year..
Over 50% of computeur dont have a valid AV.

Most funny is , the best protection so far against virus power , was that M$ did reduce the number of conection windows can open. Other things to not forget is nowday , windows is not so full of virus hole..Pirate now , atack other aplication that run on windows , or go after population that have no clue what virus is,and have nothing to protect from it , like mac and linux user...

I have started to see a pattern.

Every monday approx 1900 CET is the start time for the packetlosses.
Anyone else noted the same?

It was to bad so I had to log out.

Same problem here, had time to take a nap during the time it took to change weapon. Havent thought about that with the day and time though.
 
Again yesterday arround 19:00 MA Time the servers were unplayable.

Mind Ark has to do something about it immediately. Bullshit about servers being attacked etc....all the explanations are BS!!! Look at Lineage, WoW, AoC, LOTRO, etc... all those MMORPGs have much more players than EU and they don't have such problems...

Simply choose a better provider MA! But again...it would mean you would have to spend more $ and for you it's not acceptable...right.

I think its not just a $ problem.
If its was just some $ and change provider easy , i am sure MA would have change long ago.
But probably MA dont have much choise in provider , close enought to them.They probably need to put hand on server sometime,and so , need a provider not to far...or even , they have their own server room , with own security , and only 1 or 2 provider can link them...
and even... problem is at 2 or 3 hops from MA server...
So it depend what "route" take the paket...If you paket go to MA with the right route there is no problem at all...i dont have any lag or latency.. yet i know swedish people who lag like crazy..Some other french like me , lag crazy too , because they provider fall on the wrong node..

Sadly , i dont know any way to choise what route the paket should take.

IF Mindark uses Telia, the largest swedish internet provider and owner of the "cabels into the houses" (which im almost certain they do in some way) then its acurly the internet providers fault. becuse they do have some very serius problems with their internet atm it seems .____. its really really really horrible and suckysucky. like a *removed not good thing to comper with*

I feel your pain I really do but if 380ms makes it unplayable for you then dont ever come to Australia as that would be a good day for me and most other Aussies i speak to are around the 300 mark also. :(

From the looks of it it seems that above.net lose some links and the backups don't cope with the sheer amount of traffic.

got lag too, 300 ping on 2 places last one before ma i think it was.
 
this is just fuxxored.. im on a 1 gbit line and the only thing in i have lag on is entropia. i have like 26ms ping to a online racing server in japan. but to Entropia i have like 4-500 ms thats just insane.:mad: FFS! MA upgrade that frakin d-link router and the 486 server you are runing this shit on. :mad:
 
well i've had the lag this week and i am not the only one. i set to 256K and it's playable. i figured my problem was my crappy redneck ISP but given the folks worldwide seeing the problem i guess not.

and i'm by no means a computer genious, but when i ran a tracert... it timed out. so all i know is my ping = bad.
 
if you want to get something productive (ie a long term fix), you need to post details, ie the actual tracert (and do more than one) and your location and probably ISP. then a pattern might emerge, and if you write a support case ( you do right?) they'll ask about this anyway. the problem could be a poor peer to peer relationship (happened before one ISP was basically blocked by another) or traffic shapping. right now, for me in the UK on Plusnet im getting 25-35 with a 50 spike.

could mean a router is dropping ICMP (ping) traffic. ping tests are not really all that usfull if a network does this. ping www.microsoft.com to see what i mean.
