Has anyone ever looked at that recent loot on the recent finds list? Brutal Orgasmatron Axe(L) 154 ped. I myself am over 18 and so are most other people in the universe, and I know you need to be 18 to play this universe, but still. EU has a certain atmosphere to it and it was one shifting towards quality. Those of us who don't care about quality go to Rocktropia at the moment it is honestly not polished. Not to mention that, it is very expensive too.
I don't think that putting this on the hall of fame board for our planet is good taste at all as it just transforms the entire experience into a poorly thought out tacky and immature undeveloped one. Come on MA, and FPC. That just sounds stupid, why put it up as a major pr stat for those of us who purposefully try to avoid that bullshit?

Some people mentioned earlier that we are "offended" by the names of items and mobs. I'm not offended by it from a moral standpoint. I'm offended because I think EU was going in a good direction after the hiring of Hanne, the promise (and subsequent release deadline) of vehicles, and the missions system. The outlandishness of RT just makes it so much less respectable from an outside perspective.

I heard of Motorhead in the 80's. I've watched video interviews with Lemmy back in the late 80's and early 90's. I used to read all the metal mags. Tbh I think he's a good guy and liked what he had to say but I bought their record once and couldn't get into it unfortunately.

I prefer Alice Cooper, Skid Row, AC/DC etc...

I'm not offended by anything in RT except some of the lack of ingenuity in some of the mobs and mob names.

I do think the globals should separate from world to world. I think HOFs would be OK though.

I listened a lot to Iron Maiden, Sabbath, Priest, and some Motorhead. I've drawn quite a few monsters in those days inspired by their songs. I took and still take that music serious unless its Spinal Tap (which is friggin awesome by the way too)
I guess it was never steroetypical to me back in the day sure there were girls, booze, and what not but at the end of the day it was about the music and the appreciation for it and the creativity it inspired.

I guess in some way I was hoping to see that in RT especially from some of the previews of Lemmy's Castle but.......we got what we got, not horrible IMO but not blow you mind OMFG now I remember that music this place what I always imagined listening to those albums(yes albums before CDs lol for all you youngins jk )

Well if Alice Cooper, Skid Row and AC/DC are emo, I think that is strange I'm more of a Goth actually but I like Anthrax, early Metallica, black sab, just cld never get into Judas, Iron M etc. I'm not that big a metalhead I don't class myself as one, haven't since high school, close to 2 decades. I like bauhaus, VNV, Gothic rock from 80's/90's, 70's/80's Punk other stuff like Summoning etc.

I expect musical preferences to vary frm person to person

As you can see, like them or not, there is little doubt that Motorhead is easily one of the most iconic rock bands still in existence. I'm not syaing that you should listen to them or that you should even go check out RT if you haven't already, But I am saying that they are a damn good choice if your going to create a rock themed planet where the primary goal is to kill things for loot.

Just to set the record straight, I'm no puritan, or a bible thumper, matter of fact I have no use for religion. I've been playing online multiplayer games before the internet, so I know a little about the progression of gaming.

But the one thing I have always believed in is, one should have a little tact, and self respect and to have an understanding that whether your shooting an artificialy created avatar or one representing a real person, your killing someone. And I can assure you it will affect many who do it, and getting used to killing a human figure even in a game, will affect a young mind, its a fact.

Thats one of the reason I thought killing those females was a bit over the top.

The "Moral Majority", yes from the USA, which wants to protect us from all violent, blood and gore and especially NUDITY en sexual indications has placed a mark on nowadyas generations I see.

If anything you should react to the fact that you can get an axe ingame and kill someone with it. And FPC should rather ban everything related to violence and keep everything sexual uncensored in my opinion.
Then again this is just a game and mature rational people should be able to tell the difference between IRL and VR. Unless its something directly harmful it should be allowed.

In my opinion, if you are offended by sexual content but not by violent content you should step back and rethink your values.

Ofcourse sex is better then violence. I will take any time over violence.
But the two do not mix in my eyes. I dislike killing good looking women with an axe. I do not dislike killing big dinosaurs. Men have always hunted animals, it is human nature. It is not human nature to beat up and kill half naked women. And on calypso you can kill other avatars, but you can choose not too. Just don't go to pvp.. which I never do.

But all of that is not even the point. The point is if you do like killing half naked women, by all means go to rocktropia. I just do not want to be confronted by it on calypso. The global messages keep confronting me with it, whether I like it or not.
And sure I can turn global and hof messages off. But then I am limiting my experience I previously had on calypso. Right now I have no choice but to be confronted, and it is limiting my experience on calypso

Are really a minority who affect the majority and that is the major problem.

I spent a few hours in RT but had to come back to do some trading. I found it a break from Calypso and from the boredom of CND etc. At leasts its a change and probably has a long way to go. I probably will not be a major visitor, maybe once in awhile for a holiday . Calypso will do me for now till something better comes along.

The names I found a bit juvenille but sort of go with the theme. Bit more warning in the PVP initially may have save me some ped. Revivals sometime a long way away, bit of a nuisance. Generally graphics need some tweaking. However gratz to them on the effort so far

Each company will attempt to appeal to one or more customer groups, and their tactics will always be different. You can never please everyone so you have to choose your core customer base. And when one customer base is taken you might be looking for something different.

And for some companies freedom might be more important than money (thank you for that!). I don't know ND personally but from what I can see his job is his passion. I think he can afford to lose some customers in order to keep his artistic freedom.

With more freedom comes an exponential amount of responsibility. You cant build one without the other.

I have yet to see anything irresponsible (in my opinion) with the release of ROCKtropia.
