Question: The new gold rush

All we know is the date and that the event is for miners, crafters and hunters.
What format will the event be? Any toughts?

Gold Rush 2023 - Hunting Division
There are four (4) separate divisions as previous events have had. However, there is some updates to the creatures and structure. Creatures have grown a bit tougher than when they were last seen, we can only assume this is an effect of lack of culling that has occurred.

There are limitations imposed on the three first categories. The limits are as follows, creature levels in the parenthesis.

Category 1: Less than 145hp (7 & 13)
Category 2: Less than 200hp (35 & 62)
Category 3: Less than 300hp (55 & 104)
Category 4: Unrestricted (77 & 157)

Each run recorded on the missions is twelve (12) hours, and you need to complete minimum one twelve hour run to be able to compete. After your first twelve hours are reached, the mission will automatically switch to run two (2), the mission will count a maximum of ten (10) runs. If you complete run ten, you can still continue hunting in the event but you will not gain any more points.

Winner is decided based on the highest number of points in one (1) run, points is gained by killing creatures inside the instances. It doesn’t matter which of the ten (10) runs have the highest score.

YOU CAN ONLY WIN PRIZES IN ONE HUNTING CATEGORY
(you can only have one hunting mission active at a time)

Gold Rush 2023 - Mining Division
The miners haven’t been forgotten. As you mine Arkadia every claim will award points towards the ‘Gold Rush 2023 – Mining’ mission, the larger the claim the more points are possible to gain.

The winner is decided on your accumulated points, most points gained will give you position one in the event and the winner of the first prize. The player with second most points gained will win the second prize, and so on.

You can mine anywhere on Arkadia, Arkadia Moon or Arkadia Underground.

Gold Rush 2023 - Crafting Division
The crafting division requires you to accept the mission ‘Gold Rush 2023 – Crafting‘. The event is open to every crafter and every blueprint* no matter if it’s a foreign blueprint or an Arkadia native blueprint. Accumulate points through crafting anything you like to craft, the higher the value of the item crafted the more points are possible to gain.

The winner is decided on your accumulated points, most points gained will give you position one in the event and the winner of the first prize. The player with second most points gained will win the second prize, and so on.

Crafting can be performed at Arkadia, Arkadia Moon or Arkadia Underground.


The Gold Rush Questgiver is located at /wp [Arkadia, 11214, 9675, 248, Gold Rush Questgiver] near the Aakas teleporter as the event starts.

*Explosive projectiles are still permitted, although they have substantial penalties, encouraging players to craft regular items that rely on resources provided by miners and hunters. This not only fosters a thriving player-to-player trade but also ensures that crafters enjoy a thriving market for their goods.

KNOWN ISSUES
Category 1 says the limitation is less than 140hp, but that is a typo, Category 1 is limited to less than 145hp.
 
In the hunting category what mobs are there in the instance? also are they shared loot?

If someone has 300+ hp, is his hp capped to 299.99 hp when entering category 3?
 
Finally an event where, in crafting at least, all of us can be bots (but without macros or whatever else) and still live rl as we please...
I wonder if the AH will become bloated with whatever crafters work out gives the best average points...

Will there be loads of imports from Caly AH, or is it a 'bring your own' party?
Who will be the top 5 crafty crafters and what will be crafted? My guess is stuff that sells, such as amps, maybe to feed the miners?
This'll be an interesting period...

After this post i respectfully decline to partecipate,

i will not enter a 55 monster level instance for grinding, swings are massive
and IDGAF to waste ped and time on this.
(last event was too good apart the bullshit in counting points)

How are the points scored for hunting? Old school mayhem? First few once it moved inside instances? Or more like the big swings once we started getting random 1-5k points? or more like today with pretty standard 1 Point per 1 ped, or what ever it is?

feels like, unless its massively random with the big pointers, there is little chance to compete with "just" decent gear for hunting? EP crafters will move to ark for crafting one? Mining seems good tho? not sure how DSEC grind vs high lvl amps gambling shakes out in these sorta events.

need to sleep on it but looks like fun for everyone in the position to really go for it?!

Thanks for explaining my exact thoughts on this, I could not care less about it too. Also, whats the fucking point when some other sad !!!! is gonna spend 24/7 in there and beat me anyways? 😂😂😂
 
It's good to see an event that includes crafters and miners, too bad Arkadia is far from Calypso with lootable space inbetween, otherwise more people would join.
 
no crafter can beat a EP4 clicker so also the competitors will be probably Kunrad and Chantra for craft.

my strategy for event is to codex on arakdia and sell all oils in form of nanocubes as advanced TT

Let's see what they mean by "substantial penalties", but yeah, better visit RT for some nanocubes after next patch :laugh:
 
Deleted a wall of text and instead will just say that there's only like 16 people and their alts that should even bother with this.

To everyone else: Do us all a favor and don't support event formats that are absolute garbage for the community at large.

Thought ark was on the redemption path but how can that be when so ignorant of negative player sentiment that has been building towards this development style with zero integrity.

Very disappointing.

Best of luck to those in cat 4 - fortunately those of you who are unable to find a spot in the top 5 can recoup your losses by taking prizes from cat 1-3 with your alts :ROFLMAO:

If they didn't cap the dps, then ubers are just going to give their rings to alts and then pass around a non sib high dps weapons to easily win the lower categories. Cool prizes and stuff, but reload exploits and gear that isn't owned by the players the categories are meant for are going to make it nearly impossible for the people the categories were designed for to win.

Maybe ark officials will pay more attention than caly officials. Simple math can be used to see if someone is over the reload cap even if you don't have software to do it. If you lightly monitor the people who are tracked to be in the top 5 of each category, then at least the exploit problem can be easily solved.

I am 300+hp but still wearing shitty gear aimed for 1000-1500hp mobs

I can't even shoot Lv 77 big mobs....

smh.... no hope
