FYI: Logging off ruins Space Economy!!

Hello Mindark specificly, and other users who read this..

I would like to make you aware of the fact that people can log out in space to prevent being killed and looted.
This topic will serve as a discussion not for people to talk about their troubles with pirates because their brain is too small in capacity, but for Pirates who are sick'n'tired of being legally cheated on.

When a pirate attacks a player, 4 out of 5 times the player presses ALT+F4 and leaves us pirates in the dark.
Ofcourse this is perfect harassement to piracy, i'm sure you can imagine all those non-pirates laughing out loud knowing a pirate will wait hours for him to log back in to kill his floating body.
you must also realise that it ís nearly impossible to know when someone will log back in.

The time for a player to log off is practically 10seconds, therefore it's impossible for us pirates to Ever attack any Quadwing, Privateer or Mothership.
We have tried what we can, but there is no way we can kill a ship within 10 seconds of the logoff timer.

Why is this such a problem for the economy you ask me?
well.. simple..
- Pirates have no income, therefore we will run dry on peds just for playing the game.
.. paying a 100% payment with 0% return, where hunting/mining/crafting is 100%input 90%output.
- Bigger ships will never have use on crew, because pirates will never attack the ships.
if they do.. people will just log off, the ship will let itself be killed.
- Bigger ships have the oppertunity now to ask money from people who wish to be a crewmember,
Selling the dream that skills will be worth money.. *Readbottompost*
- There will never be real job oppertunties in space which noobs could work towards too.. because there is no RISK IN SPACE!!

we might aswell just label it non pvp.

i hope the people with an actual brain will see this topic for the truth that it is..

The fact is, it is a pain in the ass yes, but you have ZERO right to complain about it, since you do this ALL the time to try and save your loot. So long as i know i still have a chance to catch them when they log back in..it just becomes a game of patience which is part and parcel of the pirating profession...I DONT MIND...which is VERY different to MS logouts where i have NO chance to catch them whatsoever.

The lack of a ransoming mechanism is what's killing pirating. Grats, you intercepted my quad with yours, you may now proceed to roll the dice, shoot for empteen peds worth of ammo and loot my body when I die and get 0-1000 ped. Or you could demand that I pay to be ransomed for lets say 5-10 PED, without you shooting more than a warning shot, and me living with my lootables intact. Heck, you might be a double-crosser, get the money and still shoot and loot me if you think that's a better deal, adding an extra layer of mechanics and behavior to the game.

Oh wait... you can't do that, there is no mechanism for you to receive my tribute and allow me free passage, you have to shoot me dead or leave me be, and obviously one is fun and the other is not.

No. I hope, MA will implement "balance" feature. If you wanna loot 500 ped, you need to carry that amount, and have same risk. That will be fair.

Hopefully Mindark will listen and fix this little problem by re-adding the transport fees (a portion of which will go to the hanger owners again) and ability to buy items from other worlds directly from the auction without having to go to the other planet to pick the items up... and re-add the teleport to other planet directly, bypassing space option that used to exist... It's silly that a technology that we used to have such as that no longer exists since the point of this game is to increase colonist's use of technology using what we learn from aliens, etc., not downgrade the technology making what used to work no longer work....

That way all these participants in space that are making you a sad pirate will no longer have to go to space at all, freeing the area up for you to wreck havock on those that choose to be there, and probably have the firepower to actually give you a bit of a challenge that you seem to be seeking.

My point is you are not a smart pirate...your are still a "pk pirate". Yea, the diff is i have lost my space PK skills, but i swapped them for loots like the one above taken few mins ago. The Unlike you, i dont care how many times i get killed...All i care about is that when i do fight, i fight for money and DONT loose what i get.

* Gear to pvp in the octagon
* Gear to kill miners between land areas
* A quad,a kismet and a bunch of ammo

What 300 ped can't be used for:
* Gear for oil rig
* Gear for land grabs
* Gear for akmuul or similar

seems like the 2k ped you looted is a nice budget..

And it seems that you are not understanding sarcasm... easiest solution that would make most people happy (i think everyone will agree that most people actually DO hate the fact that space is pvp) is making the space non-pvp (or only partially pvp). I actually belive that sooner or later it will happen that space will be non-pvp and then i will remind you this post to see the sarcasm in it .
