AI mining on Howling Mine and Intergalactic teleportation

Here's an idea for interplanetary TP system. You buy deeds with ped. But the system doesn't pay back ped as revenue... it pays one pec tokens (revenue) to be used to refine into tickets to use the interplantary TP.

Maybe different value tickets depending where you're TP'ing. Maybe planets have zones. So zone 1 is CP or forma. Zone 2 other planets etc.

The plus side is, if people just want ped revenue they can simply tt the tokens. But there's opportunities for MU to sell space travel tickets.

I'd buy into those deeds.

Tickets (which have a tt value) can also be used for ship owners, who may decide to use more competitive pricing and under cut the TP system. Since it would appear they will have a monopoly on space mining, they should be happy.

Good to see ND promoting again.

Not everyone is going to even want to withdraw it. Once people realize they can use the capital to build their avatars, they are more inclined to cycle it back and build their skills or use it to trade. But its the idea that is important. Also another thing to factor in, is you are being paid to Play. I find the job system fun.
Also take a look at the cost of internet in these countries to understand what getting paid for some of your leisure time can be used for.

Oh and if you are wondering?

The ownership of computers in Indian households was expected to experience enormous growth between 2022 and 2025, increasing from 33 million to 37 million And 850 Million people have internet access in india.

Heres the cost for internet connection in countries where it is less than $20 per month.
And I have marked X next to countries that currently have Players in Entropia Universe

X Serbia$19.83
X Thailand$18.54
X Slovakia$17.74
X Latvia$15.07
X Lithuania$13.03
X Hungary$12.95
X Poland$12.70
X Bulgaria$11.25
X Kazakhstan$11.24
X Vietnam$10.83$
X Belarus$10.46
X India$9.48
X Turkey$8.77
X Romania$8.25
X Ukraine $5.62

The idea of a Job is like training wheels on a Bicycle. You only want them till u get comfortable riding your bike and then you outgrow them. But by having the training wheels available gives more people a chance to build their confidence.

Also lets keep things in perspective, this is just my marketing strategy, that I want to try out... If the Gameplay at the Howling Mine is really exciting and Visual, I would like to focus heavily on that Space combat, space mining etc.. But there is a lot of competition out there with Space Games, so I need to see the Howling Mine in action to lock into the marketing strategy, I have a plan for it, but its too early to run with it

I do like the spark of the idea, and i beleave it is a good thing.

Back in Times when i did start entropia i had the oportunity to sell my sweat for 10 ped per k and later for 5 ped. This stretched my time in EU a lot.
the fact that i was able to see profit in the early stages of my Avatar, did lead me to depo into the system. I count 40000+ usd depoed since creation. I wuldnt have depo a Single dime without it.

We should not be mentioning successful titles like Eve and SC when talking about Entropia space, and telling ourselves that a space mmo is what people want. Sure, they might want it, but entropia space is probably one of the worst designed areas I have ever seen in a video game. New players experience it once, then immediately uninstall. I have witnessed it first hand. A horribly janky experience, laughable, and designed by clowns. If you expect most of us to take any of this seriously, you should have announced plans for a complete space overhaul.
The game is in a really bad state right now, and I don't think it will recover. UE5 plans have been revealed as just another embellished hope that will most likely never amount to anything interesting, returns are worse than ever due to a rapidly shrinking player base, difficulty selling anything whether it be resources or gear, and angry players everywhere. Very sad indeed.

Well your Mr Grumpy lol. I am not disagreeing to some things you have stated but be more positive. MA are trying. I also do not want to see another ND idea become a laughing stock like 90% of all his ideas that he has done before.

ND gets bored with everything which is a fact, he then vanishes for long periods of time as well. Space did need huge updates, but they need to fix the old space before adding new stuff and features to the current old buggy space system first.

I will still take a look and see what it will be like in December but that is all I will do. I am still not playing the game until Unreal Engine launches, hopefully next year.

I'm trying, Rob, but jeezus.

In summary, while Entropia Universe focuses on real-world monetary investment and a skill-based sandbox experience (just ask Fargo, cruising around in his Cybertruck),
Star Citizen emphasizes immersion and realism in space simulation—where you’re more likely to feel like a galactic hero than a futuristic Uber driver.

"Upon its launch, players will face space pirates"

I wonder what's it about? Sounds like boosting aggression? Are we going deeper into humans against humans?
I've said it before (probably about a decade back).... and I'll say it again...

OK finally got to the end of @NEVERDIE 's rather epicly long posts there. Fascinating stuff and nice to see that there was actually some method behind the apparent madness of "jobs in Entropia". I really thought it was a made up marketing concept for all these years. Didn't realise there was something of a system behind it.

Well anyhow I'm pleased Mr Beeblebrox hasn't given up on Entropia still. Just wouldn't be the same without his continued enthusiasm despite the difficulties of getting MA to bite on ideas.

I have my doubts of course that MA will deliver what he is hoping for, but let's be honest why would anyone trust them to deliver something like this. For me the statue thing was a big faith loser. Those were NOT hard to deliver on, and yet people had to wait years and pretty much publicly shame them into getting the darn things done.

Lots of other stuff got talked about too and not delivered. So yeh personally, my motto with MA these days is that I only believe it when I see it, but I won't complain in the mean time. I'm just saying I carry skepticism on my back. Fifteen times bitten twice shy and all that.

Anyhow. Entropia is what it is, and I'm happy with that. We are lucky enough to be living in a world where there is a myriad of opportunties to occupy our time and plenty of other fun games to play for peanuts (steam sales) or free (EPIC's Thursday giveaways) if Entropia isn't meeting expectations.

Something that always impresses me though about Entropia is its resilience. Sure as @NEVERDIE says, maybe it isn't seeing meaningful growth but somehow it still hangs in there and for whatever reason (patent lawyers? I don't know) somehow we've not had anyone else enter the RCE space in a similar way to how MA have done it.

As for this $20 thing. I'm not sure if it's comparable but Tia once shared with me some stories about some of her users on EntropiaPartners and said that some find ways to turn what they earn there into meaningful cash IRL. It sort of depends on what country you are in. Don't believe me? Ask yourself how you can buy cheap products that would take more than an hour to make that cost less than the min wage in your country (if you have one) then you realise that someone is being paid peanuts somewhere to make it... and in that location, it's enough to survive on (if not well).

It's a shame marketing Entropia is so hard although to be honest I've always felt MA's previous efforts have been kinda luke warm and I suspect that was deliberate, knowing the infrastructure just wasn't up to supporting a lot of simultaneous players. Maybe that can change with a shift to UnTropia but, as always, we'll have to see. It always felt like some sort of coding/optimisation issue to me, i.e. there's no need for me to be receiving the exact location of all mobs/players around me (let alone their loadout), surely only the ones that I can see, or that can hurt me count? With that in mind it seems strange that noob areas were always so laggy.

Anyhow I've typed enough haha. In short, glad to have @NEVERDIE back and still not out for the count. Maybe this time things will work out... we can only hope right?

Man, I'm late to the party on this one. Call me jaded but lets be real this whole article was just a bunch of buzz words throw together to make it sound cool and sexy but in the end it's just bullshit.

As a few others have pointed out, but wanted to take a few of my highlights from this dumpster fire.

"The Howling Mine is set to provide millions of jobs and generate a new economic ecosystem within the metaverse, bridging the gap between virtual and real-world economies."

Millions of jobs? This is just going to be a handful of "jobs" aka daily missions thst just costs you more to do than they are worth...Our active player count is dwindling and new players that stick around are few and far between. Just throwing around the word millions means absolutely nothing and to me shows just how disconnected Neverdie is to the EU community. Having "jobs" that pays out pec in the middle of no where will do nothing to help our player base.

"This is not an experiment; it's a proven model. NEVERDIE's job system, successfully tested over six years on Rocktropia with 50,000+ completed jobs, has become the planet's most popular mission, demonstrating its scalability and sustainability."

Almost spit out my drink reading this one. RT was an absolute flop of a planet. The whole "players keep the job system to themselves" is a load of crap, it's that the job system is so piss poor that it's not talked about. Developer abandoned RT years ago. The planet still has not even moved to the new codex system. (Don't get me wrong the repeatable attribute tokens are nice but that's only a thing because RT was abandoned and this one pro is a byproduct of that neglect)...The political system was a complete flop and you guessed it....abandoned as well. RT was a planet where good ideas went to die.

And probably my favorite....

"I'm confident that the discovery of intergalactic teleportation technology at the Howling Mine will pave the way for millions of people to find work and prosperity in the metaverse, and I'm all-in on making that vision a reality," says NEVERDIE.

Neverdie being all in? Bro...you're not fooling anyone but yourself. You are the EU mixture of houdini and the good idea fairy. History speaks for itself...

All that being said, I will try to say at least one good thing. I do appreciate the fact that you attempt to come back to the community. I just wish that for a change you would speak with your actions and not meaningless and deceptive words filled with great ideas but empty promises.

One clarification , NEVERDIE no longer owns RT.

Okay, I have had a couple of drinks so I will give posting a shot.
<some stuff about giving new players free PED>

Why were space taxis a thing? Because flying a quad was tedious, grueling work. There is also an element of finesse involved in avoiding pirates and such. There needs to be more systems like that in-game. That's how you create a lively universe with viable "jobs".

Gathering sweat and fruit are "jobs", they're just brainless ones that won't retain players. But the idea behind them was solid. Sweat is needed for MF, fruits are needed for pets/taming. Jobs should provide a useful service to the playerbase.

We need to brainstorm some more interesting jobs. What about creating art for people's apartments? What about building estates? Woodcutting is a thing, yes? Why not architecture? Designing furniture?

Why don't they add an elaborate, tedious farming or fishing system to grow livestock or generate food that provide avatar buffs, instead of filling up the cash shop with skill pills?

People make thousands of dollars on Roblox designing games & cosmetics for avatars. Why can't Entropia be like that? Why not expand the tailoring profession so players can create their own designs?

How did we go from talking about virtual concerts in space on Club Neverdie to repeatable kill missions? Feels like we're only going backwards since the PE days.

Entropia was meant to be a sandbox, where is the sand?

Okay, I have had a couple of drinks so I will give posting a shot.

I will try to give you some insight into how I see the Job System and why I think its important.

First of all, I think most of the planets have repeatable missions. I haven't done them all, but for the sake of this post lets assume they reward a couple of ped daily in Universal ammo. Some of these missions require the player to have a weapon and ammo to complete the Mission, perhaps others don't require any hunting at all and could be considered a Job of sorts since there is no cost to the player to undertake the mission. The ped value cost of rewarding a player for completing a mission/quest is deducted from the Planet Partners gross revenue.

The AI War Mission - The Job system - works as follows:

A player ( an absolute noob, with no ped or weapon ) can visit the the Job mission Broker for the first time and will be given a pistol worth 50 pec and 1 Ped of Cheap ammo that can only be used with the Pistol.

The Broker then instructs the Player to hunt 40 Ai then return to get paid.

The Player then hangs around the parking lot outside club NEVERDIE on Rocktropia and when they spot an AI spawn they must be quick on the draw to kill it, before someone else does.

If the player does infact use the AI pistol to do this, then after shooting only AI mobs 40 of them nothing else, The pistol will have decayed by appx 0.25 Ped
The player will have looted lets say 95% TT return from the AI Mobs APPX 0.23 PED. upon returning to the Mission Broker the player will be rewarded for Hunting the AI with a Ped Card worth 2 Ped a receipt worth 0 ped and another 1 Ped of Cheap Ammo. They must then wait 24hrs before they can do the mission again. I think the AI pistol lasts for appx 2 Missions before the player needs to use the Loot from the AI Mobs to purchase a new Pistol from the TT.

SO the Loot covers the cost of buying AI pistols, The 1 ped of cheap Ammo is enough to kill 40 AI and the 2 Ped Card rewarded to the player each day is the Payment - Player is Paid for doing the Job. if they do it for 30 days that is 60 Ped in a month. Not Universal Ammo, that must be recycled but a Ped Card that can be TT'd for 2 Ped each day... SO basically the system gives players the tools Pistol and Ammo to do a Job and then pays them.

In addition to the 60 Ped a player can GET PAID monthly, the non tradeable reciepts can be refined with Sweat and Beer kegs, both free to scavenge, plus a few Rocktropia Records, which they actually need to collect via hunting into Ruxxnet codes - Ruxnet codes are required for spawning Big shared loot Mobs on RT - Market Price for Ruxxnet code fluctuates but averages around 6 Ped each.. The demand for Ruxxnet code should increase once MA start adding better loot to the shared loot mobs. It requires 3 job receipts to refine a Ruxxnet code, so if a player completes 30 mission in a month, they could with a little additional sweating and scavenging refine 10 codes in month and sell them for an additional 60 ped..

So Basically the Job system on Rocktropia guarantees $6 Per Month with an additional $6 bonus if they sweat and scavenge..

The cost of the $6 is paid by Rocktropia and over the course of a month it was a manageable expense for the planet as it supports an active playerbase..
On average the mission was completed 200 times per week approximately 10,000 times per year over 6 years = 60,000 completed Jobs.

I was very keen to test increasing the payment for completing the Job system to see exactly how much the planet could support, but because Rocktropia wasn't succeeding with retaining higher level players, I decided to give the planet up to Mindark as all my efforts to build the economy were futile and I felt that it if mindark owned Rocktropia then eventually they would balance it more competitively with Calypso and also they could freely integrate AI and prepare it for the Unreal5 engine... However I also made certain that the Job system on Rocktropia was to remain intact as It is something I wanted to be able to use to help market Entropia... I have seen so many youtube videos where people quit quickly, because they run out of free items fast and then think they are being ganked into deposting and Gambling...

Sweating doesnt seem to win the argument, but I believe Jobs, guaranteed income is a strong argument that Entropia is much more than a Zero Sum game.
For 20 Years we have been pitching Entropia as a Real cash economy, blah blah, blah and we are not growing right now..

So if we have a real cash economy, then in addition to the multitude of ways people can Make money by being entrepreneurial, we should also be able to have a few paying jobs for people who need that security to keep playing.

Okay... So That Brings me to the Howling Mine...

Im not a planet partner, Im not developing it. MA are. The Revenue to the Mine largely will come from the decay from Mining the asteroids and engaging in PVP.. Deducted from that revenue will be various costs include, starter quest rewards and Job payments.

Im hoping that Mindark will follow the formula for the Rocktropia Job system and even the gameplay style although this Job will hopefully be undertaken in a Noob micro TT starter ship (kinda like an AI Hunter Pistol, u can fly in) I'm hoping that they can balance it in such a way that we can bump up the payment and even bump up the Bonus potential or maybe a player will need to complete both a Quota of AI Mobs killed at the Howling Mine and then another Quota of AI killed on Rocktropia to achieve 200 ped per month.

either way Im hoping to get to the point where I can market Entropia not just as a Real cash economy ( that too many people just think is a code word for casino) but a REAL Economy that can sustain Jobs.... $20 Per month may not seem like a lot to some people, but to others its worthwhile... The Proof is the fact that this system is tried and tested on Rocktropia and quite a few people enjoy doing it.. In fact they prefer not to shout about it, so it doesnt get too crowded... I personally really enjoy it, you have to be really quick on the draw to tag the AI first and get your quota done fast...

So on Rocktropia one of the reasons that the AI spawn frequently is because the shy vixens drop Gears that have a good mark up. At the Howling Mine the AI spawn should be tied to Asteroid blasting which might be popular if there is a demand for intergalactic teleportation.

So space mining, interplanetary Teleportation will create Job Opportunities.. And if I can interest new people to come check out the Howling Mine... Then they will have as much time as they like to keep playing before they venture away from the Mine and chose to deposit because they want to invest in their avatars.

Now having said all of this please understand it aint easy to get peoples attention today, not easy to get the press interested .. $20 Per month is not exactly headline news, unless Entropia Universe were to become the #1 Metaverse platform, #1 MMO, then we would be talking alot of people with paying jobs...

Youtube pays 55% of its income to USErs who upload content - they are called Creators and they are paid Billlions per year.
Roblex pays Billions to Creators who make games on the platform
Facebook and Instagram pays billions to influencers

The Big difference is the entropia economy doesn't have to just pay Creators in can Pay players. Because its a Hunter gatherer economy.

I have been here from the beginning and I always imagined Entropia was going to have millions of players then WOW came along and did have millions, but Entropia is more complicated and its taking longer to be ready for that kind of exponential growth, but I believe its still possible, with AI and Unreal and Jobs and better pipelines etc, etc

I am not ready to give up on that dream, I was ready to give up being a planet partner,(which I wasn't good at) but not ready to give up my job system and not ready to walk away from the Dream...

Perhaps I would have walked away if Mindark hadn't agreed to give the Howling Mine a shot, but they agreed and so here we are...

There is no guarantee it's gonna be great or the gameplay is gonna be fun or that anyone will pay the premium to Instant TP from planet to planet or that anyone wants to engage in heavy PVP in space or that I can even successfully market jobs or space mining.. BUT if all these things were actually cool and I did a good job, then we might start getting a few more players and I might be able to scale up my marketing.

Bottom Line is if anyone can get more new people playing Entropia, its good for the whole Universe, because they will gradually explore and play everywhere.

I would be very happy if some of you would find ways to get new players... I've been trying for over 20 years, I've had a couple of ATH's and some very long dry spells. So if you do decide to give it a shot, be in it for the long haul.

Final note: I am excited about space and action in space and space mining and upgrading ships and pirates and crafting, so I'm rooting for MA to be excited themselves to do a great job. Even if you hate me. Encourage them to do a great job, because it will add more fun to the game, create more opportunities for everyone..
in my honest opinion, mindark need to go back to the old PE road, todays game got nothing to do with the old magic.

yes we need "jobs" but rewarding people with universal amo is not the way, it just delays the point where you quit, @ some point you question ur self if its worth it to spend ur time for 6$ a month, then you wake up and start to understand that the 6$ dont even cover the electricity costs in india.

we need "jobs" who give market oportunitys, lets imagine mindark gives (just a example) sweat a reason of consume again by rewarding 1 15mg pill for 1K sweat, you place the npc in a lootable pvp zone.

this will have impact in :
1.mindessence because of teleportation
2.weapons because of people hunting down each other
3.armor because of people defending
4.healing tools because of people healing
5.vehicles because people will hide in them
6.oil consume, because people will use them
7.vehicle weapons because people will use them
8.crafting because those weapons need a crafter
9.materials consumed in crafting
10.sweat by it self because now you can transform the sweat to a consumeable that is gone after 1 hour of use
it actualy delivers a endless supply and demand chain by the fact that the consumeable is "easy to get" and get consumed
you dont sweat 1 k within one hour

@mindark, gz i solved your problem why new people quit this game, now pay me what the balance manager gets for 1 year in ped pls
i dont try to bash mindark by that, but its a easy example on how to fix things.

the old entropia had a lot of "jobs" people culd do what ever, sh.. there where crafters deticated to craft furniture in order to climb the neverdie bank.
it was a floating economy and a game that everyone loved

nowdays we have a cripple version of a event runner, the only purpose you log in is to runn the mayhem events in order to pull a weapon, thats the only market.

back in times you did login to:
chat
roleplay
climb things with stacked items
go to a party on a asteroid
go to a party in a apartment
player events
fashion events
become a taxi driver
become a full time sweater 5-10 ped per K
teleport runner
hunting hofs globals and chacing MU
and probably a million other good and funn reasons that made people build a relation with the game

today you download the game, shoot your 20 ped of amo and uninstall after 1 day because who the .... want to waste 1 hour of his live for almost 10 cent sweat while there are A class games you can play for free

recharge the magnet mindark, hit me up if you need help i am happy to help you for the love to the game

Good questions!

I really like the points you made!

We need more ways or activities related economy consumption.

These sound more like jobs then ND dailies! 👍👍👍

Make existing mechanics and features matter again and add more of them. 👍

ND "jobs" are joke, you can earn more for just fruit walking 😁
To make 6$ a month you only need to find 300 fruits per day which on some planets like ark is usually 1 stack 😁

I know. 😁

RT deeds also include howling mine revenue.

RT deeds will not include Howling Mine revenue..

For real? How many people can collect 300 Fruits on Arkadia per day and at what point does the mkt price for fruit crash?
