Ancient Greece Shares

PP vu again today, but nothing noteworthy it seems.
At least it doesn't look like other planets have rocketed upwards either, but where do we go from here?

Oh good grief, Charlie Brown!
On closer inspection, the entry cost to lots of Carneval Island stuff has returned to being bronze and silver tickets. While it is possibly the same tt cost (for example, 8 pecs), the mu is now a few hundred percent (AH history) again instead of basically tt. This makes stuff less worth doing - again.

Especially fishing seems to be a prime example of not really worth it before, and absolutely not at higher costs.
I've not checked if the AG fishing has the same entry cost of a bronze ticket again now, but there is no current use for the 2 fish types we can get anyway.
[The new one-time user-designed traveller mission is a bit of fun with the flower pot tps, I guess, and the reward looks nice, but it doesn't do anything for daily playing.]

In the past I've compared NI/AG to a coffee shop and to a swimming baths. What about a bus service that is low frequency and double the cost of taking a taxi? How many passengers and what longevity would you expect? Oh, the deficit is paid for by the council, you say? Well, great!

Also in the vu, the famished shark-like fish have been replaced. So, where are they now?

All in all, I don't see any progress this vu that would boost the overall economies of NI/AG, and a public market share in the lowish 9s means that the devs will continue to not see a single share sold at 10 peds.

I even LIKE lots of stuff about NI/AG as an environment!!! Please, for the love of virtual worlds, deliver something more viable guys ...

AG fishing still use 8* papoo tails, but all you can get while fishing in AG is fish or nothing. And AG fishing has 10 minutes fixed timer.

The direction on AG/NI is mostly just reducing server load. So they don't seem to have any concern for growth rather they assume they can't grow so they cut cost. Not really a great direction for players or MA, but it is the path.

The patch update says the famished fish have returned already, so thanks for that admittedly small fast reaction on AG, but it is a positive one, yes.

I'm now getting graphics CTDs again like in the old days, even on lower loads. It can be AH at a busier place (graphically), the roller coaster, or just flying over terrain somewhere, so I've no idea how long a login would last on other planets these days. The path (caused by MA maybe) isn't even keeping me logged on/in as much, Danny, as I'm not that motivated to log back in if I've at least done a couple of dailies. Sad, but the truth.

Awesome, since the fish have returned this means AG share payouts should be going up now /s

Well yes, lol :p. It makes a difference to my contribution, but I've not considered what miniscule amount it is. Still, given the miniscule amounts that normal AG activities probably bring in anyway ... ... (not talking the molochs or dauds). Talking of which, which are the lowest sharks that are part of the moloch entry mission now? I looked at the inland lake area recently and those sharks had upped their level considerably..

if partners want more cycle on their planet there is a clear path to do that

you need more blueprints that have inputs which are lootable from hunting/mining on your planet. tt/recycle food does not attract players. also let me say, on more things than just furniture. i would go so far as to say, EVERY lootable material in the game should have at least one non-furniture blueprint or mission input. in theory furniture is perfectly valid, however most players do not and never will have an apartment or estate unless or until the housing system is totally overhauled. thus as it is furniture is going to have very low and sporadic demand...the items that are inputs for furniture production only, are basically tt food as a result.

you need more dailies/weeklies that require kill count/cycle, or planet-specific lootables from hunting or mining to complete. good missions, like the arms merchant mission on cyrene.

Funiture is fine. Just release 50000 tents folks can use ad an estate... every avatar gets a free mini estate as part of new game engine with 20 item points each....

I'd rather not have EU turn into San Francisco

NI/AG does have some signs of life on the crafting front, such as lesser ely and crytalline cores, but I only do at most the daily mission amounts. As the ely uses lyst and sweat, it's not maxing or even using its potential for planetary mats either.

Daily kill missions can take up way more time than people play, though - and the reward is often a smallish tt(+mu?) boost. Unfortunately, only one daily I know of sees me sometimes turn over 500 peds or so on AG. I don't bother at all with a couple of others available long term for AG mobs.

If there was a bp for an in-demand (L) item that used more AG mats than I could reasonably gather, I'd be tempted to actually buy the mats on the AH, craft the items and fly occasionally to Caly if that were necessary, or partner up with an interplanetary hopper.
Furniture isn't the answer as things stand, no.

Ages ago I bought some Ancient Greece shares and forgot about them. I thought I would go & find how much they were worth - but for the life of me I can find out any details about them. I assume I have them somewhere but dont know where to look. Can anybody give me some assistance in this.

Thanks heaps Druwu, I had no idea, purchased 6 shares ages ago & forgot about them.
Also - what about the dividends those shares paid - Are they included in the balance?

Dividends are included in balance.
Also you can do double click on your deeds, then click History tab and here you can see all dividend history.

There's been a pp vu, but piddlingly little of note it seems. I'll add up the dividends at the end of the year I think...

End of 2024: the payouts this year have amounted to 30 pecs per share total, equating to simple interest of ca. 3.5% at the now lower share price of ca. 8.8 peds.
Compared to Caly, Caly is better at almost 3 peds per share costing about 36 peds each at the mo, equating to ca. 8.3%.

That's quite a big difference in interest rates, especially when considering fees on purchase/sale.
The share price is also an issue, which has dropped by a lot more than the payouts. Still, for the NI team it does at least mean some income from the revenue off the large number of unsold shares that continue to stay unsold, but it's not much. Selling the portion of shares for AG in the first place seems to have been the biggest income, but that isn't going to be repeated...

Personally, my caravan shop has been doing reasonably, and AH mus on NI have risen recently for a reason I haven't yet been able to identify, so my shop may do better in 2025 than in 2024 if more mu and volumes are achievable.

To sum up, the future doesn't look bright right now, but at least I don't need a torch! I hope for more all across EU in 2025!

Since the start of the year the comparison offering of cldts has taken a nosedive, with payouts of 2 pecs a week now being regular and the share price tumbling by about 20%. Our AG shares are just staying slumped.
Admittedly, there has been the introduction of space mining, and it only takes a couple of higher turnovers from AG stuff to try something new for us to stagnate further here. My impression is that mining is poor on returns, worse by far even than having to start a new looter skill, so maybe people will slowly return to planets.
There has also been the introduction of new dailies via so-called AI on Caly for people with moderate turnovers, but the AI keeps getting tired, it seems, and won't hand out the timed daily missions regularly. Maybe NI/AG will be seen as being more consistent for generally lower-level dailies.

Thanks for the analysis

Out there in the wider universe, space seems to be cooling down again, but whether to absolute zero, who knows!

As far as NI/AG goes, the story is mixed. As you probably know by now, the team has been let go by MA, but finished off with a fling.
The update finally introduced a good number of daily missions to AG, with some missions combinable. QOL improvements included single tp-ing to anywhere between NI/AG tps and better flowerport prominance at Thebes.
It is a pity that while my bugbear issue of balancing has seen various improvements this vu, it may be that the old team won't even read that I finally have some praise for them on this. Oh well!
It may now be that mobs are going to be hunted somewhat more at all times, and that wave loot will thus deplete more quickly after refills, but if people are more active across the board because the overall balance has improved, then that's good. We shall see what happens to mus and market volumes I guess, but I repeat that more activity is good, even if mus drop a bit, but offers also actually sell now!

There are still things I haven't worked out after about 1 week now after the vu. I've not found any of the 'Easter eggs', nor do I know if they can be only found once. I also have got zero idea what the truly magical flowers are, and how to gather thousands of them, zero squared!
I've also not been into the new instances, nor even do I know if there is a menu of options when handing in the necessary key to get into one. Any info would be nice, to see what value those keys should realistically have (that basically come from one type of the new daily mission rewards).

A few weeks have gone by, and a couple of vus with some changes and new bugs in certain areas. Overall it seems like the population has increased a little, but not really by much. A time of more fruit and stones drops has come and gone - we are now back to slowish finding again, or at least I am.
The new dailies have, I think, impacted the wave loots on some mobs, and some mus have risen a bit, maybe for a longer period. We shall see.

Overall I still think the changes are positive, but this doesn't mean I expect NI/AG to grow as a result. New planets/moons will have the effect of people who want to try new areas having a bigger choice, and fewer new people will try us out at all unless the playerbase grows significantly. Then, ofc, it would be new, unskilled players coming, but NI/AG is ok in that regard, so ok.

Well, it's fully summer and payouts continue to just trundle along, with the share price flat.
In terms of news, it seems the npc for crafting bps over at Thebes is on strike, although other hand-ins are accessible.

Overall, I think NI/AG is a pretty nice place to be for pottering around on dailies. Some of the balance I now think has reached the status of good, with the beginning of loot waves and the quickly gone stuff giving way to lower priority drops that are also reasonable in their own right. Not great, but reasonable. If the markets were more active, then it'd be a place for beginners to store stacks up to an auctionable size, like in the old days, but they aren't, presumably because crafting volumes are still painfully low. That last vu by the dead and buried bunch of devs did throw in some new opportunities, but still not enough is useful at higher volumes it would seem.
Quo vadis peeps? What is the next new content, if any now...?

Still summer, but I wanted to write for the first time about declining favour (and fortunes?).
The last vu by the old team threw in some stuff that had presumably not been properly vetted by MA, as it was said that there were a dozen or more "Easter eggs" to be found, depending on how people counted. Some of these were then changed back a short time later, which annoyed quite a few people, such as the halo buff.

What I'd like to know is if switching off one or more NPCs was intentional or a bug? As it stands, I was able to do one round of NPC purchases from my daily rewards that is now unavailable. I have more than finished my second round now, but if the originally available rewards are going to remain unavailable, then I might more quickly decide to leave the planet in annoyance, even though I otherwise quite like the place. It would be 'unfortunate'...

It could also see a more general dropping by people of daily missions relevant to AG, and revenues are not exactly great anyway, so losing even the potential of a small upturn isn't good. Anyone with any info?

Well, nobody has chipped in with any info, and as NI is now under MA's wing, there may not even be anybody allocated to NI's well-being, or 'support', or 'attractiveness'.
The unfortunate scenario has of course taken place that I've left for the time being. There are a couple of things that I feel like testing out, but maybe only the next time that stuff gets sorted by MA.
My guess is that the slow payouts in 2025 are still mostly funded by AG instances and not free-roaming activities. And of course, the outstanding shares at 10 peds still stand as isolated as ever, so only player2player trading is taking place. I've not even checked volumes recently, though.
Thus, it's almost time to call the end of 2025, with no expectation of change any time soon.
NI - an island retreat for a bit of Christmas aloha feeling maybe... we'll see.

Oh look, 2026!
I haven't even checked the total 2025 payout, but my guess is 25 pecs, give or take... 5 pecs.
Caly had a record low in 2025, so why should we expect anything of a now MA owned backwater? That's the shares bit.

On the planet bit, NI/AG didn't do anything at all I believe at Xmas. No presents, no mobs, even though mobs exist at the press of a button.
So I went and explored one of the new areas within EU and then off to Cyrene, which does have xmas content separate from Mayhem.
My comment in the last post about a positive holiday feeling to be had on NI/AG was thus exactly negated, although I did only write it as a maybe.

Outside the festive season, I suppose this is still the planet where I feel like doing at least some mid-levellish mobs on dailies, so the highest turnover, but AG is only a part. The two bigger spend areas still don't get my custom, though.

Note: I was still there when there was some massive issue that caused everyone at Thebes to CTD almost instantly on logon. The vu also caused others problems elsewhere in the game, so there was more for MA to deal with. The slight positive (within a negative) was that this problem was solved reasonably fast.
