Suggestion: Close down and retire Entropiawiki

altho there is also an "alternative" in the works from amryu (which is very good and much aprreciated) the orig wiki has built in some formulas like skillcalc, armor vs mob and other things, which arent public known ???
so IF you are going to shut it down, please make the database open public +their subroutines to also calc skills, doing armor checks etc in future too..

maybe MA can make the database open source, so that anyone with a good programming brain and initiative can build his own modern version of it, a bit like there are several cyrene websites...

free market competition, let the best programmer win.

obviously all new sites have be be freely accessible. That is the condition for using the original database ;)
I have an older copy of the DB from when it was made open source somewhere....

edit: doesn't seem to be on my PC... might be on the laptop or maybe work

On top of that all the scammers are the ones editing the prices of items especially the old tt items with no market info. in order to be able to scam more people. Seriously like wtf are you doing letting these people edit the wiki. I'm a honest person and I can't change the prices of all these items to what it should be ridiculous.

It would be nice to have an MA updated creature loot list, at least...
I don't really want to spend killing thousands of mobs just to find out that they no longer drop X or Y.

Welcome to RCE.
Information is money. And nobody here will give you money for "free".

I was referring to the wiki being severely outdated. Having at least some of it synced with reality, or provide in-game means to track it, would be nice.

Wiki is updated by the users. We get out of it what we put into it.

To be the first to discover some change or addition in drops and to exploit the hell out of it before it becomes a common knowledge is the whole bread and butter of EU. Not to mention all the "dead" planets that big guys don't bother with but that may hold some surprises if you put in some efforts into survey. If everyone gets that info at the start without effort, it will come down to who dumps the most money into the grind, leaving everyone but the top without any markup.

Wiki is well updated on the older stuff. If you can't see some recent info there, there is a reason for it. People sometimes even resort to deleting the info added by other "altruists" to keep the edge a little longer.

Yes, sometimes I forget that this isn't a game. :)
You are of course right. People will still be people online.

Problem is, not all free info is correct. It's not just a matter of not reading, it's a matter of knowing what is actually worth reading.

Good alternative, and tbh if people really loved the game like they say on here , im surprised a group of coders didnt put something together, but ofc $$$ is the issue, maybe put google ads on the site to create revenue or some kind of system to support a website of large scale data

Having actual updated market information directly from in-game would be so amazing.
There's the "market value" menu option, but it's quite cumbersome to compare values with.
Would be very nice with selectable columns and details in the AH, as it is quite underdeveloped for one of the most important merchant features in the game...

Why does this page rarely work? And if it does its so slow.
I remember it working great in the past. Was it taken over by MA and thats when it went to hell?

Would assume it is due heavy user load on too little capacity to manage that load. 🤷‍♂️
