I like both the north an south pole, but I have a fondness for the south pole from stories I had heard when I was on active duty a long time ago when I was in the US Navy Seabees. I had an Equipment Operator friend who wintered over 3 times at McMurdo station. This was tough volunteer duty that few qualified for. He was an crazy old son of a bitch from the Vietnam era. We would get drunk and beat each other up. Good times

Personally I consider them equally good as they share the task of providing an axis around which the Earth can rotate, which I find very helpful.
