I crash evertime I launch EU

It's the Xfire overlay (XIG = Xfire In-Game). Somehow FPC borked the allowance of it, and they conflict and EU crashes.
Think they're trying to prevent more programs like PEAss (uses same basics). Got a report from a friend who uses some sorta music overlay program, EU wouldn't launch unless he shut it off before he launched it.

Oh well, guess I won't get my hours racked up in xfire now for EU :(.

Okay, now this IS really silly, especially given how they partnered up with Xfire before and how useful it can be for those who play in full-screen mode. :mad: Even if they tried to prevent applications that affected EU in some way, that is certainly not one of them. Speak of shooting in the back and dealing a crit.

Yeah, good job MA, keep doing stuff like this, giving us the extra hassle to redownload almost the whole thing again for "security" after encrypting the content files, I bet the players from South Africa and similar locations are extremely happy with the increased security... not to mention this extra layer means the client needs to de-encrypt the game data, which can take a significant amount of processing power if poorly implemented, does this mean we can expect the game to run even worse for those PC's that can barely run it right now?

Yep, I'm not too happy with this update, and I haven't logged on yet. Now this is a huge achievement. :rolleyes:
 
I don't use xfire and I don't get CTD's, I'm getting real BSOD.

Tried shutting down every last s/w before starting eu, still crashing.
Tried setting everything to low, still crashing.
Tried full reinstall, still crashing...

So no more eu for me 'til this is fixed. Saves my peds! ;) Supportcase sent.

Same here. When I close X-Fire I can login. I tried to disable X-Fire ingame in options but it change nothing. I have to totally close my fav and only software to keep contact with friends if I want to play Entropia.
Closing X-Fire is like disconnecting the phone for me.
Maybe we are only 60-65 (that's why Entropia is never ranked better than #250) using X-Fire but it give a little additional visibility to Entropia and I think it's important.

Indeed.
But because we are about 65 X-Fire users, I dont think they will put it in the "things to fix in hurry" list. What's bother me the most is that, as most of the times, it's entropians who have found the problem and not MA.


Anyway,

i dont have x fire open its off line and still dont work for me

and have reinstall back from zero whit no sussess
 
Yeah mine isn't crashing it just isn't doing anything i type my login and password, click login and it just authorizes all day not crash no freeze just authorizing its incredibly frustrating....

I reconize this !

it started with a disconnect probably caused by the dna ,
so i did the browser download and i could not start the game after install
i got a corrupt install now it says : not correctly shut down and then i get error.
i uninstalled it complete and deleted all files that have anything to do with E.U.
i have reinstalled/uninstalled 5 times now and every time that message : not properly shut down .

i really dont think i can play till next patch maby or worse

no nothing has changed on my pc since last install (v10)

now 14 hours later (after a night working on the install) i started a regular download and i hope it will work

btw does anyone know where the temp install files are placed? ( before it gets installed)

Owww x-fire is blocking?? i have to try that too ( i installand start play afer completing download without x-fire first before i make more comments)

IT IS X-FIRE have to shut down x-fire then u can log in AND play again

Okay, here's something for us Xfire users. Yes, it is true that if you try to start the client while Xfire is running, it'll crash horribly. However, if you start the client THEN you start Xfire, it will work fine. No crashes so far. :)

I'm still pissed, but at least I can use Xfire while in-game, even if with an ugly workaround. :cool:
 
Marco, you might add this:
If you run the client loader as "run as Administrator", it runs too, even with XFire on.
 
Problem with xfire solved already with update.

I took me a long time to get back in game yesterday....but I got rewarded with an SGA item... So definately put some balm on my sores. lol


I have to thank Entropia Forums for giving us a place to work on resolving problems.
 
..... So when 10.3 swung around, I was able to log in. I danced a lil' jig, naturally.
And now I am getting the exact same message.
I DON'T have Xfire installed, I didn't change anything between the two log ins, and I want to kill some goddamn atrox.
Help me. :(
