Is this a scam ?

Number 1 reason to hunt solo!
 
To me, most of the people on swunt teams are new players and don't have a lot of knowledge about the value of items. It's sad that some people take advantage of that. When they do, yes I consider it an underhanded scam. It also makes people leave the game or possible screw someone else new because it happened to them.

Worth the lost rep? nope.... no amount of peds worth losing your rep over... well... many ppl seem to have had their 'price' but not me.

Thanks for info on who is selling ESI :)
 
Problem is for loads of ppl that you dont know who you hunted/swunted with..
If you make a team, try to hunt with soc mates or people that you know are trustable :)
And allways add teamleader in FL plus make screenies if you global :)
I dont know if you can call it a scam, but i prefer having teams with trustable people :)
 
The team leader lied, then didnt payup after he said he TT'ed it. Its a scam. When u can clearly see his trying to sell it off for about 60peds, is nasty. If 11ped is split 12 ways, wat 92pec? You can keep it I personally aint desperate for a few pecs, 5-10ped? ofc! He sure looks like he is desperate thou.

No other word to call it realy.
And I dont realy see myself entering a hunt or swunt, using same weapons and not geting a share of the item or an animal part.
I wonder would he do the same with an Ambulimax thigh bone if he looted it:scratch2:
but to be honest rofl to think someone would put himself in that position for 5$:yay::yay:
 
Yea if he splits for TT value an ESI then he or she is just a bonehead. A good rule when hunting with people you dont know is to have the team leader split at time of loot for MU or close to MU. I wouldnt trust anyone to put it on auction and split later unless I knew them well enough.
 
not really a scam if he splits the sell peds with you all but this is one reason why when i did team hunt i only did with close friends or didn't at all. best bet is to solo always because people get crazy when they see alittle money in this game.

I was in that swunting team and couldn't beleive the way the team leader and his mate where really going to scam everyone out of a few peds. Team leader:locked:(Robert) tried to give me 1ped and l declined, l just didn't want any part of their BS! So l left and l've never had any probs on swunts before but this has put me off for a very long time(back 2 solo hunting lol) anyway good luck to all the other swunters in that team and lets hope karma gets em soon.

ah... so it turned out that the ESI seller wasnt the leader....

it was definitely a lie if this cant be called scam.

whatever happened in that swunt, the ESI seller (who said he will TT it) didn't want to share his part for sure. If he was truly a nice guy, then he should have said something like

"ok, I m putting it on auction, after its sold, contact me and I will split the PED"

^or something like that.

that clearly did not happen as far as i can see, it was more like.

"I am going to TT it" <---- lie.... "here, have 1PED each =)" <---- then goes off to sell it on auction and pocket the rest.
 
All depend on what has been agreed before the hunt. If nothing except the team settings has been agreed - then not a scam - but lag of moral.

I often hunt in teams where items below 100 ped mu is not shraed (goes to the looter) - just too much work for a few peds.

So morale is make rules very clear befor each hunt specially if you dont know those you hunt with.

As Yquem says, nobody but the team was there when they discussed loot rules if any. I have been in teams where we agree to split TT on items and if the MU is good enough to auction it and then split the total. However not all teams agree on the MU part and agree on split TT only. Therefore it is well within the looters right to pay the others from his own PED card if he would prefer to auction.

Same as if a low MU gun is looted then instead of TTing and splitting the PED a team member pays each person their share of TT and 'buys' the gun.

This is one side of the story with very little details and no proof of what was said/decided. People are very quick to throw out the word 'scammer' now days. I'm not saying it is or is not, but without a reasonable amount of evidence (chat logs etc) you are in no position to judge.
 
Well, he's either a total fuckwit or a 'scammer' - depending on if it was agreed to split market value or tt value.

Of course, he could have had another ESI in storage with - coincidentally - the same tt value - which he decided to auction at this very time!
If he were to split the proceeds from that 'other' one then I'm sure everybody would be happy with the result ;)
 
Never team up with people you dont trust 100%.

Or you are scamming youself.

Keep that in mind and it will be ok.

And me too, from now.
Thanks to the guy leading team whom I gave the 177peds H400 I looted in the hunt today. He shared the TT value... As I left the team at this point I got nothing from the share. Anyway I don't want peds from scammers, Mom always told me.
So I'll never hunt in team anymore, nor I'll heal or help people ingame anymore as well.
I am tired to be a fair player.

hmm that sucks, but you shouldnt allow this player to turn you on the same side as he is... just dont join teams with ppl you dont know and trust.

I'm new, and I was a member of this team. That was my first swunt, and after this incident, probably my last.

I only knew someone did something wrong because a couple of people on the team were willing to speak up about it, and now I'm glad to see this thread, too. It was a dirty thing to do. I won't be so trusting next time.

it aint no scam because you didnt lose money ( if no esi you would have hunted anyway) but its not a nice way tol show newbie how to interact with the game. Unfortnately some ppl ae jerks in rl and in EU. They drool over the fact the made 100 ped and now think they are awesomel Gladly MA always collect your earning so have no fair. It will re-enter they lootpool fast.

Remember his name and dont swunt with him anymore. Dont make some personal vendetta also. It will only ruin your game experience further. Just move on and try other teams.

I enjoy this game a lot still, but I need to educate myself on different loot customs and possibilities before I go swunting or hunting in a team again. I was ignorant, and next time I'll know to ask specifics about TT vs MU loot split, but there must be other things I need to know to ask about, too. I'll learn what they are before my ignorance bites me in the arse again!
 
Really sucks when this happens. So here are a few of the things I think you should do in future.

1. Only hunt with players you know and trust (or with people recommended by players you trust)

2. Ask for a clear explanation of the loot split rules when joining a team

3. Join a good society

This should help overcome most problems but there are always douchebags.

Hi Chantaine, sorry to hear it woul be your last swunt. i did a lot of them when I just started and made a lot of friends by it and always had lot of fun.
Don't let this ruin your experience. There are always trustable swunters too. Like for instance my soc mate who organise a soc swunt every week on fridays, so that are new players can prepare and earn some peds for the opallo hunt on saturday. (feel free to ask more info about soc if you are interested)

what i mean to say is: the bad guys are still a minority in this game and the community here is very strong hanging together and all about helping each other. I hope you will discover that and not let this one guy ruin it.

This evening at Nea's I ran into the aforementioned avatar in question, and made him aware of this thread and that other players are upset with his actions, but he didn't respond (and wasn't afk).

I suppose it would be unethical of me to bring you other, lower calorie noobs to eat in exchange for swunt tips...but I just might do it anyway! :D
