Re: Version 10.1.2 update of October 22 2009
Apartments returned.

Omegaton West habitat
Gamma 6c

The above mentioned apartment before version 10 had a view from the balcony overlooking the ocean inlet. I purchased the apartment for this very reason and as speculation into the in-game real estate market. I was looking forward to the new view in version 10.1.2 and was dismayed to see that my apartment no longer has an overlooking view as I originally purchased.

Considering the emphasis that MindaArk places on professions and in-game profit making, I am surprised that Mindark would undermine my apartment value and future potential value by ruining the original view as purchased.
Real world as in virtual, "Location, Location, Location"!

I am sure you of MindArk understand the importance of consumer/player confidence in investing in any commodity and likely even more critical in a virtual environment.

If a past investment like I made in virtual real estate on Planet Calypso can be easily undermined by a version update, then whats next?
My and others confidence in your virtual world model will be compromised.

From your Website: Virtual value is real value!

I await your resolution.

well just like irl insurance doesn't cover natural catastrophes:D

kidding sry to hear that i'd be pissed if it was me >:

It's just me but .....

I can understand the location (near TP) of estates are important for business ect, but peoples really buy aparts for the view?
I mean, you sit on the balcony for hours looking at landscape?

Like I said, it's just me but I dont see the importance of the view for the value. Maybe IRL. But ingame?

.

Part of why I got my appartments was the view, I don't look at it every day, but yes, I do look at it sometimes, just standing there and enjoying the view. Maybe not for hours either, it's just nice to know it is there.

View is a huge factor for someone like me. I was running around comparing floor plans at TI yesterday and could see how someone would pay hundreds more PED for a place with a big window and a nice view as opposed to looking at the side of the tower next door whenever you're there.

I would certainly be mad if I had taken the time to do the research and find just the right place, only to find myself forcibly evicted to a less desirable location. Good luck to the OP and everybody else that got caught in this dragnet and here's hoping that MA or FPC or whoever can, will make it right.

Not an apartment owner, but I can see the problem is only going to get worse the longer they leave it.
What happens to the people who have purchased an apartment at a higher price after V10 because of the view, or because its close to a teleport for that matter. If they move the buildings back to where they were to please the pre V10 owners, they are going to get angry post V10 owners.
Should have been dealt with as soon as the problem was realised.
atm I wouldn't even consider purchasing an apartment not knowing whether the buildings are staying as they are, or going to be moved back to their original positions.

When you spend many hours in game moving junk around in your apt, yes, view matters.

Except for those people who only use an apartment for storage, the view is important. On the other hand you can get bored of the same view so there ar esome advantages of getting the apartments moved round. Still not fun for those people who got a far worse view though.
I would like to be able to jump off my balcony....

Can you still shoot people from a balcony? I have not tried it, but my apt's balcony overlooks a tp and auction house, so it might be possible?

Shooters

I tried shooting a expl projectile out and it hit an invisible line at the balcony edge and blew-up inside.

Scared my pet android vixen drunk.
