This thread is for discussion about Scams and Scamming, all talk about scamming should be kept in this thread as we do not want the forum flooded with negative scam threads.

If you feel that you have been scammed this is the thread to discuss it in.

Any scammer threads started outside this thread will simply be merged with into this one, so please spare the mods some work and post it in here from start.

If you are a newcommer it can be very usefull reading to protect yourself against scams.
 
Does this thread include hacks (being hacked) as well as scams?
 
Caught myself a scammer!!

So, a friend messages me and asks if an armour upgrade is a scam - couldnt resist it so went to have a chat with the guy in question "antonio SkullCrusher Dexter" ... the pictures should speak for themselves....

Never reported anyone to MA before - could someone explain how i do this as I think this guy needs removing from the game before he scams someone else...
 
Report him for sexual harrasment. Avatr will get a warning or maybe banned...

...might be one of a lot so called "secondary" avatars, who wont care for a loose of this account...

Report anyway via http://www.entropiauniverse.com

log in there and use "support" located to the left then choosing "my support".

Uh, you have no proof there that he is a scammer. The only thing you've caught him doing is being rude and vulgar and you've caught yourself throwing accusations around.
 
lol pinky.. i saw that scammer earlier today, unfortunately i didnt get a screenie... but anyway, he was doing the old 'give me the materials and ill craft you armor'.

well even if for a second i did believe this scam (which i didnt) , my mother told me to never trust a man in his underwear...
 
Too bad we can't +rep and -rep people 'within' PE as we do in EF. This may help with the scamming problem. Then we'd just have to beware of dealing with 1-day noobs with no skills (e.g. avatars created just for scamming).

I can see your point, but i would add that when i told him he had tried to scam my friend he said "and..." rather than deny it - he didnt actually deny it once, and the fact that he did actually try this scam on my friend (although i dont have screenies of that of course) kind of persuades me he is a scammer.
Obviously its up to you to believe or not, but I think it reasonable to alert people of what he is (alledgedly) up to.

Will try to get something more concrete next time for you! :D

How about no... My mentor and Akoz both have 999 rep. How did that happen? Easy! Gealous stupid noob cheaters gave them -rep. How would you feel if 10 noobs -repped you so they can fuxxor you for good.

Look at the chat. They are a group of scammers pretening armor painting is possible. :rolleyes:

The new list now has the person/people who reported the scam and the type of scam comitted, I've also tried to make it a bit easier to read by listing names alphabetically.
Where no actual scam took place it is labled "attempted"
If you feel your name is wrongly listed please send me a pm.

When reporting please list;
1. The full avatar name.
2. Type of scam (gsi, armor upgrade, theft etc)
3. A screenshot where possible.

Good work m8, this is very useful for newcomers and everyone having second thoughts about certain avatars... The list seem a bit short though? U sure u got all names in?

Another thought... Wouldnt it be good to have names of known avatars being copied with similar names?..Or are they locked already by MA?
 
yeah its complete with the exception of avatars who use "copycat" names.

Do you think it may be worth removing the inactive scammers to make the current ones more memorable?

how do we know who is in-active? I think even those avatars that have been locked aren't permanently locked.

Maybe the list could be tied into PE Assistant so someone could view such a list in game or do a search while in game.

I really fell that posting scammers on the forum makes a big difference. Glad we have this power, as we have very little other power (it seems).
 
Basically less and less smart players are getting scammed now. That of course if they read EF.

if the rep system were well implemented, the +rep for the people that should get it would easy out weight the -rep by the punks just trying to mess with people

I see your point, but maybe if it worked like the one here....a -rep from a noob doesn't count that much so in the end it works out. I don't know...I think we're (I'm) off topic here...sorry MB ;)
 
I've myself been -repped cause i was about to win the event, and none has the balls to say "hey dude i've -repped you, cause i was jealous" :mad:
 
Scammer Spotted ????

I just wanted to let everyone know that Lurek Kolo Kwasnica is a scammer. This person is selling multiple Korss H400 (L) pistol's with a 5.3 TT value on the auction with a markup. The pistol is considered damaged at that TT value and must be TT'd since it's a (L).
 
thx 4 the warning ,,BuT its on auction i hope people look before they pay 4 it...iff not he is lucky guy not scammer...or :confused:
 
Well, a lot of people will see a TT value on the gun greater than 0 and assume that is can still be used...when you get it, the item will be damaged and you'll have to TT it. Why would someone put damaged L items on the auction?
 
over and over again the same thing, it has been posted many times in the forum, mate read everything before posting, there is some player who might be interested to put them in their place ;)
 
he's not realy a scammer, he is a smart buizz man ;) the ppl who buy it is just stupid, sry to say so, but it's the truth :S

he doesent make em buy it you know.. :wise:
