Stable Estates

So we can bid on them but can't see them until later in the year. Will the actual locations be given or are those secret too? This all reminds me of the Malls and Pawn Shops and we know how successful most of those turned out to be.

Personally I really dislike the Battle Arenas idea using pets and find it quite distasteful. Yes, I know it's only a game but I still don't like it.

I'm also a getting a little concerned as a high skilled tamer what I'm actually going to be able to do once taming is eventually back in game. I assumed that the higher the skill the more things would be available to train pets to do and then sell them to people not have to go to a stable and pay them to do it :( Oh well, will just have to wait and see what happens.

Nadie, I just wanted to say, thanks for posting that, saves me another post.

But then ran into this bug ....

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Nadie again.

Arrggg ... :duh:

It is rather odd the Estate sales are announced before we have any details on how taming will work.

Well, people used to skill taming for years without knowing how it will work (let alone that it will disappear completely for years), being told that the basic functions available to them is just an introductory stage. No doubt people will buy (both in monetary and emotional terms) anything MA throw at them :)

I also feel like tt-ing all of the fruit i have, as there has been zero mention of how pets are fed (if they are).

Stable managers provide housing and maintenance for stabled avatar pets, including food and energy.

Looks like fruits/nutriobars are going be for Stable managers what dung/fertilizer is for Land owners, so perhaps they'll have to buy those from players.

Will you sell the oceans into deeds if you implement fishing ?

what a joke... :handjob:

It's a forum, people make comments, some good some bad some indifferent and then like yours basically useless and nothing to do with the thread, where as all the others are.

to be fair havn't been well and wanted to read some cheery stuff ...... and yes most of my posts are pretty useless as are my social skills, must be this stinky .....

get well soon man :) not many of my posts are that great :) but we try hey and that's what counts. goodluck.

Sweet I'll be able to finally bring out my daki stalker "Killer" :yay:

Seems to me this could be very interesting!! Maybe now I can get him to stop crapping on my chomper rug! :eyecrazy::wtg:

So far this new communication has been very nice. Just little tidbits without giving it all away! Can't wait to see what else comes from this! :wtg:

I also see that some still can't be pleased! I guess that's par as we have been without this communication for so long, it will take some time for people to accept it!

Either way, taming will have to be great as it's been far too long to come back! :yup:

Well they do make it sound good.. but then that's what they are supposed to do, they are marketing a product. No idea if it will be a success or a flop, just wait and see, good luck to those who bid.

I guarantee you these stables will go well above 20k ped, the best way to really get ahead in this game is to own revenue generating assets. Like the guy who bought foma might seem like a lot but he's making bank everyday.

Not necessarily. Their current plans are for this year but what if there are bugs or other delays. Looking at past record could slow down development especially now since mexico office is closed i.e less staff.

I prefer to stay optimistic ;)

Cheers!

You guarantee. Holy shit.

For you it seems that any "revenue generating assets" takes revenue from it's own ass. You know, there is someone at FOMA, who spends money. Players.

So, you now "guarantee" that this new "asset" will be the same.

Great.

So a SB of 20000Ped. Hmmm, obviously the Calypso ones will be the most expensive, but what are we looking at here 50000, 100000Ped??

Stable seems more usefull than a mothership or hangar (or hanger as some non english people call it) so why not 100k peds or more

Will you sell the oceans into deeds if you implement fishing ?

Well, yes of course.

A limited number of fishing pier facilities will be made available on the Entropia Universe auction. These new estates will generate revenue through different channels, as described below.

<<<<image of a pier, with people angling and pulling fish from the water, also a couple of fishing boats>>>>

The piers will generate revenue for the pier managers by charging a small fee for services on the piers, for example, selling, trading and specialized maintenance of fishing boats and angling gear. Piers will also be the hub for future fishing competitions where various fishing activities will be held.

Pier managers can also earn PED by renting stalls to other avatars for fishing, and by providing specialized maintenance only available at the piers. Pier managers provide housing and maintenance for fishing boats, including worms and fuel. Better care provided by the piers will result in faster fishing boat progress and better performance in competitions.

In addition, piers will have the ability to be upgraded with shopping booths, additional stalls, teleporters, terminals, visual additions and other unique features.

The piers will be placed in strategic positions on each planet. Each planet will have the chance to auction these exciting and fun additions to the Entropia Universe starting on July 1 2016, with starting bids of 20000 PED.

As a bonus, I saved at least an hour of development time on that project too.

Anyone that takes a $2000.00 + punt on one of these with far too little information available to even begin to analyse it as an investment or make even the tiniest estimate of ROI is not an investor. They will deserve everything they get, whether that turns out to be good or bad. Ya rolls the dice and ya takes yer chances :)

Believe more Sucess this and B.A.D
Depend only more if its going at last good hit web service(Facebook)

And if MA provide not only PVP , (Major our playerbase is pve because real money in pvp bad idea)
if you can using pet against other mob
if going be expensive to compare others "facebooks / mobile" games

I believe much more smart if MA throw this stuffs prety cheap to everyone can play and dont sucker 200 ped per / h

Better micro with thousands players , with can future brig us to our universe with only few and rich players
But its just my 2 pec

I hope since ages that MA find out this! But it seems thy more focus at very rich ppl, thats why we see only a few ppl in game.

It would be a lot more fun with a player base x 10 x100, but to reach that goal, we need more cheap things, and don't get a greedy feeling all the time we try to play.

They passed the point where they could do that a long time ago.

Whatever peoples viewpoint on this there's nothing we can do about it, someone at MA has decided this is the way to go.

Personally I think it's another step to distancing themselves from the RCE. Nice idea but I think for the vast majority they won't even take a second glance at it.

Sadly they've allowed some planets to end up with a single person in charge of the stables with no competition. Until the battle arena concept if fleshed out with full details the owners could find themselves with little more than a few shops.

I guess we will see, maybe we are to negative at times, maybe MA will surprise us and not shaft us.

 Thanks, Butch. I needed a laugh.

You know, it kind of creeps me out, too. Then again, you acquire a pet by whipping an animal into submission, so I guess it follows. :dunno:

A few things I note here :

1) Looks like taming just got more expensive, since stables were free previously.
2) They normally release things for sale at end of year (like the malls / banks / moon / new LAs, etc), so why now? What's the hurry, especially since it will be developer only at later in 2014 according to them (assume year end again),
3) Assuming that the number of stables per planet follows according to the number of active players per planet, Arkadia is about half the size of Caly, and Rock has lost it's early mover advantage to Ark.

Good points. I think the hurry is that they need to have it for the new planet's theme which is to be taming on Toulan.

I think I'll buy a gun instead, I know exactly what the gun will do.

seems like tamers are getting a taste of the same treatment hanger owners got when planets came out and motherships became the "new thing" making their previous investments suddenly worth less? That's a trend that seems to be happening more and more in the virtual universe as far as 'investments' go...

On the up side, at least this is a sign that taming is coming back, even if when it comes back it'll just be some weird fighting ring thing (which likely will increase gambling activities in game)

I wonder if Mindforce could be used to play some part down the road - to do 'summonings' of critters similar to the 'pet' - think Final Fantasy.

Who said that Toulan would be the birth place for taming.
That was pure rumor. A supposed PP re-birth feature like Treasure Hunting.

For myself, I see no mob from Toulan I would like to tame, but instead....

Formicacida, Atrox, Daspletor, Araneatrox, Warlock (old shape), Malcruentor, eventually RT dragons.
But yet, no Toulan mob.

Calypso mobs might be a general wish.
Which i find pretty funny on the same line that there is no global auction... (understand who can).

MA was selling taming/pet training saying the high skills will allow you to do more, maybe even a chance for profit for those who are among the best.
Mind you, skilling taming = peds spent and MA got their fair share.

Now MA's taking the cream of the crop from taming profession and selling the same thing once again. This time to stable owners.

Well. If u can sell it twice, u can sell it three times...

I don't think so.

Regardless of auction timeframe of the stables, I assume they would have at least started work on the stables at least some time back.

Imagine they start work after the sale and come across an engine limitation which screws up what they thought they can produce. They must have some test stables (in the test servers) running at least by now, to know what they can or cannot do.

After that it's just a matter of skinning (geometry and texture) them to suit whatever planets they want to drop them in.

After some testing of course ;)

PS : I thought Toulan was supposed to be the Arabian Nights theme? And if they are supposed to be designed around taming as a main profession, they should be getting alot more then just 1 stable.

Yeah, now we can find uber areas of molisks with high respawn (byebye Atami's LA), herds of atrax (BB Z'lil farm), herds of cornundacaudas (BB Deathifier), herds of Proterons (BB Skippie), herds of....

Cool revenue dreams to become a "partner", until you realise the dream ends a bit too fast.

THIS IS NOT A GAMBLING GAME ! ! ! ! ! ! !! ! ! ! ! !! !
Mindark was clear enough about this (LOL).

 Can we have betslike on fighting cocks/Horse racing?! Or even better, Bookmakers franchise by MA on each planet?! in this way wil not be any free bookies ( i hate traders) .
I think bets will grow the cashflow and if MA will franchise the bets ,,,, that fee will help the game... EU is allready more like a CASINO :censored:

Really, 6 stables on Caly? How about you add few more shopping malls if you are at it, 3 clearly is not enough.
