In 2010, ROCKtropia was introduced as the second planet in the Entropia Universe, followed by four additional planets and two moons. In the coming weeks, the sixth planet will be unveiled, marking the dawn of a new era of planetary exploration and user-generated content.

Behind the scenes, MindArk developers have been working on a top-secret initiative known as The Genesis Probe. Looking ahead, Genesis Probes will become available to all participants within the Entropia Universe, granting the opportunity to create fully functional planets of their own. This expansive vision for user-generated content aims to support sustained population growth—mirroring the increasing global interest in virtual worlds and metaverses.

Upon the official release, players will be able to manufacture and launch Genesis Probes to discover and customize and terraform new planets. A dedicated interface will facilitate the design process, from initial prompt-based creation to ongoing updates and refinements. Newly formed planets will be automatically deeded to their creators, who may opt to add these deeds to the Entropia Exchange if they wish.

MindArk has extended an invitation to existing Planet Partners to incorporate these new tools when they become available and remain part of Entropia Universe’s core architecture. The majority deed holder of each planet will control the interface and oversee the planet’s evolution.

Planet Calypso, ROCKtropia, Next Island, ARIS, Monria, Howling Mine and Secret Island will all adopt the Genesis Project technology. However, any existing planet that elects not to transition to the new development tools will face a cataclysmic extinction event within four years ( Hold Over Period). Players holding deeds or items from planets choosing not to transition will be offered compensation options via other participating planets.

This groundbreaking direction is intended to elevate creativity, fuel community engagement, and usher in a future of boundless expansion within the Entropia Universe. Stay tuned for further updates as we embark on this exciting new chapter together.

What about the actual Entropians (you know, the primary sources of value in a sandbox) who have invested time and/or PED into everything from property ownership, to Teleporter collection, to geographic knowledge acquisition, etc., etc.? I can't complain too much about the importance of prioritizing the Entropian over the planet partner though, as this move broadly could become a very positive shift in that direction :)

Don't even know what to say here. I mean it sounds cool and exciting, but what? How? Anyone will be able to make a planet?

A planet is just 0's and 1's. Just pick your most preferred arrangement of 0's and 1's.

Does this mean that if a planet like Arkadia goes extinct so will Viceroy armor, etc... and players will be offered compensation?

Fingers crossed that Cyrene doesn't go extinct 🤞

What planet is this:

You guys thought there was a lot of deeds now. Just you wait.

Land Area Owners How do you feel?

Planet Partners, how do you feel?
Also what's this?

Is this the first Toulan, Cyrene and Arkadia are hearing about this?

Where will these Probes be? Someone anyone can freely travel to in space?

A "House Portal" like Old School Runescape and similar games Player Owned House Systems?
If so where will this portal be?

Is Space getting removed if those planets become extinct?
Will those planets be removed when they become extinct?
When you say compensation what do you mean? Ped value of any materials, resources, weapons, armor etc from the planet?

Would that mean Cyrene's Armor, which is one of the best armors in the game, will be removed?
What about Lazidol Lures? Will I not be able to sell them still for 3p each?

What does this mean for coding purposes of objets, material, resources, monsters etc?
Will I be able to use OTHER PLANETS resources, materials, monsters etc. for my planet?
For example, can I use Tabtab hide+ Lazidol lure + Atria Skin + Nusel teeth and combine it to create an item that spawns a Frakenstein's Monster mob that drops stuff?

Will I be able to set the mobs hp, rarity of resources, quantity of resource on/in the planet?

Can I create different tamable mobs?
on the Planet can I have deeds for houses, stalls, shops like Calypso has?

How much will it cost?

Will I be able to make 100% Efficient weapons with 10 DPP and bring them to other planets?

What's the upkeep? Ped? Other Resources?

Don't we have an issue with most planets loots already being worthless?

Does this now mean we can have 500 planets worth of worthless resources and materials?

Can we make blueprints?
Can we make vehicles?
Can we make vehicles shaped like animals so we have ridable mounts?

Can we make sexually graphic content?

Full dong on monsters like Boorum on Calypso?

Can we add Copyrighted items like Rocktropia has?

Can we add Copyrighted monsters like Megatron and Mickey Mouse and that octobussy from The Little Mermaid?

Can I make all my content a specific language? I only want people who can read Spanish be on my planet.

Can I make and design quests for my planet? Can I add in voice acting?

How often can I update my planet? once a VU like other planets in the past?
Can I have ACTUAL Dynamic Events where the buildings get hurt and people have to repair with resources.

Like a better looking and better version of the robot base events.
And a way better version than the Private server Dynamic events yall just made?

MindArk has extended an invitation ...

Nothing at all ...erm.... "offer you can't refuse style" then?

I wonder too how small a planet can be, or how much work to design and what the cost will be (or value for the shares system...)

Ok, so launching probes to discover new planets presumably means that they will exist in advance according to some procedural generation or so, but then 'unlockable' with further adaptation and design tools.
I wonder if there will only be one size/range/cost of the probe, or various crafted ones to send off into the unknown, with initial stats being delivered a bit like varied loot, but at a planetary scale...
Prompt-based sounds like AI will interpret design wishes initially, so be careful what you wish for??? ;p

Is ARIS the first test-bed new planet, so that people can get an idea of the scope? Will this coincide with UE5, and will both the old and new EUs have access to this new feature?

Read this like 3x, that's massive news 😮

Trying to get my head around how it will work, only thing i can think similar would it be like similar to how roblox works? Where you can essentially create your own world within the bigger game?

Will we get comment from cyrene? Is ancient Greece coming with next island? (I noticed secret island got a mention but not ag). Is aris the new planet?

April fools was 8 days ago...
This. WTF are they smoking did CelesteAI suggest this and someone at the top thought it was a good idea?
The small playerbase we have can barely sustain Calypso economy let alone current planets, now you want to force other PPs to join this new system or delete everything about them including players items from said planets to prevent getting sued from said PP's?

Imagine getting the stable assassinator weapon from cyrene then having it get deleted.

You guys can never cease to surprise me and not in a good way..

So there will likely be upkeep costs, can i sell the deed or transfer ownership, how do people discover my unique planet by tp or space flight , do they disintegrate if not maintained , can a soc automatically share in the revenue if all contribute toward costs, im guessing its taxed hunting only , once built can we update our designs ? So many questions.

Exactly, every other planet except calypso is more or less dead

And people don't say "No they aren't nu uh"

Yes the fuck they are, having combined less listing on the Auction House than Calypso.

Then again, Calypso is dead also.

Ohhhh Finally A Dream Come True ... Already in 2008 we made a small draft of a Lootius Planet ...

Still works, don't you think?

We don’t have the player base for the planets we have now, so why the hell do you think it will be a good idea to add more planets, they will all have to be under the Entropia economic umbrella , so no new planet will be able to balance itself.
Utter bullshit and more lies from Mindark.

And you were wondering how a real estate expert could contribute to a video game.... there :D

It's seen before in 'Another game' that was just as if you where living a second life ... right? So not impossible. I find it extremely exciting news ... will there be open source possibilites? Will it fuck up everything? We don't know ... we just don't know ... so let's speculate before it even gets started! I can't wait

What planet is this:
I mean, it says options, so hopefully it will be like ComPet Deeds where you can keep your deeds as sentimental tokens or apartment decorations if you prefer (with a five+ year window of moral panic artists fear mongering about scammers allegedly tricking new players into buying the deeds hoping for payouts, without any of them being able to cite even a single, anecdotal example of this happening when prompted; to the newer folks, yes, this was an actual narrative constructed about ComPet Deeds). As for other planets' items, folks might want compensation if they were being held for upgrade chains, etc., but mostly they'd be just as effective on other planets and I can't imagine them being removed from players involuntarily. As for untradeable items from extinct planets, I have to believe at this point we're close to abolishing untradeability. I can't believe it's gone on for this long being so foreign and antithetical to the basic concept of Entropia, but mainly I suspect it was something planet partners pushed for as a heavy-handed way to incentivize player attention toward their respective planets by regulating transactions between Entropians. And the large size of their investments into planets maybe prompted MindArk to make some concessions to the broader Entropian experience they otherwise would not have made.
